  • Here’s another long chatty video discussing how exactly I add my goat milk to my soap, why I do it that way, and a pretty pour and cut of the soap itself.
    All colorants from Nurture Soap Supplies, best true colors that perform Exactly every time.
    (Asides the TD, which is from Brambleberry)
    Soap dough watermelons are made with soap dough from Sorcery Soap, (the best!!)

    The very cool angler tool you see me use is from Custom Craft Tools, it’s their Cheshire Cat Angler, and I Love it!
    I hope you have enjoyed this video, if you have, a thumbs up and a comment make my day! I read each and every one, and appreciate them tremendously! These will be available in the mid August * release.

    Yippee...great tips from the pour, to the mold tilt & especially about melting the silk fully. I’ve been cutting tiny piece so it will all melt. You know...fingers hurting from cutting tiny slivers to get them to fully melt. Thanks Bunches Cheeky Goat Soaps. 🥰

    • @CheekyGoatSoapery
      @CheekyGoatSoapery  Před 4 lety +4

      The other huge part of melting the silk is to strain the solution after its made- I usually do the water, silk, and sugar the night before. The next day, before I make soap, I strain that through a fine strainer, then add the sodium lactate just before making the soap itself.

I also love how supportive you are of the other businesses who either made the specialty equipment or molds and people who have taught or inspired you. You inspired me. I watched your video and this morning and was determined to make a watermelon soap. A few hour later, I am one hot mess not too mention my soap. Soaped at room temperature, very fluid, separated into colors, added my watermelon do...looks great still nice and fluid. Pour my first color in and BAM 💥 Acceleration!!!! It came on so fast I barely got the soap in the mold. I’m sure it is full of air bubbles despite me giving it the smack down. Must be my fo because the batter was almost too fluid and then instant acceleration. I need to find a watermelon fo that doesn’t accelerate and try again. Yours worked perfectly and turned out amazing 😉

    If you're okay working with powdered goats milk then you can soap at regular temperature and use 100% water for your life solution. Bring the soap to a thin trace,and the let it cool to 92°-98°F. Once it is cool then just add your powdered goat's milk a little a time to prevent clumps. Then stick blend until blended smoothly ❤️

    I love this soap so much and I love watching your soap making videos. I just went into the kitchen to try my hand at making this soap as you showed, but I know mine will be NOTHING like how beautiful yours is! My FO thickened up my batter and it more like plopped into the mold! I so wanted that pretty feathering that you did here, but I think it's going to be more like camo watermelon soap! Thank you for sharing your beautiful work. Also, a funny to share with you. I'm not super computer literate and had forgotten the name of your soapery and how to get back to your videos. All I could think of was "sassy goat soapery," (we too raise goats, Nubians and I'm always saying they are sassy!) it didn't matter that I didn't get the name right, it still brought you up!

    Thank you for educating me regarding goats milk soap. Do you have to do anything to the raw milk before using it in the soap? I ask because I read/heard warnings against it. Just because the internet says something, it doesn’t mean it’s the truth! Also thanks for showing me how to gradually level the mold when making One Pot Wonder soaps. I did it too drastically when I removed the mold from the Cheshire Cat Angler.

    • @CheekyGoatSoapery
      @CheekyGoatSoapery  Před 3 lety +1

      Alice Hadsel If your soap recipe is correctly balanced, asides using good hygiene and care when you milk the goat, and diligently straining/storing, raw goat milk is perfectly safe to use, as it’s completely turned to soap by the lye.

    Do you have a recommendation for the silk fibers you mentioned in this video? I'm a new subscriber and I'm also new-ish (since late October) to soap making but I've seen a couple of folks use silk fibers. However, I have no idea what they are or how they benefit skin. I'd love to try them in a small batch.
    Also, HAHAHAHA on not saying how many goats you have! So funny! I have had chickens for almost two years and I have...meh...about 25+...🤫😅 I was told they are the "gateway" animal and I think that is correct because I'm looking to add two disbudded female ND goats to my small backyard farm as soon as I can. Pre kidding girls so I can pay a stud service for babies and then... GOAT'S MILK for the win! 😉

    The tweezer like tool - what is it called?

      It’s got a few names- but searching bent neck tweezers seem to get the closest to what they are.

      MoonChildSoaps yes, but I will say that is eyeball estimates, and not weighed.

    Is it goat milk and lye solution, or just goat milk? I’ve been using tussah silk forever and generally did half and half to melt the silk in the lye water, but did lye milk too. Boy, would I like to not have to ice bath my goat milk 😂

    We never would be allowed to put so much fragrance oil in soap. ))

      onepartofone how strange, you aren’t allowed to follow the usage rates as listed by the IFRA guidelines?? This is only 5%

      @@CheekyGoatSoapery 5%? Looked so much more. Our usual rate is about 20-30g per 1000g of oils. European Union limitations. 🤔🙂

      It’s done by weight, not volume, but yes, only 5%. I know the EU is very strict, I think at just 3% often yes?
