  • I'm wild about watermelon! It's so refreshing during our HOT summers here in Alabama.
    The soap has the aroma of sweet and sour mandarin oranges, pineapples, and wild watermelon. Compare to the smell of Starburst Watermelon Chews.

    I am a former and present decorative artist and painting watermelons was something I really enjoyed. I am a new soaper and I LOVE your watermelons! Going the extra mile with the seeds and the mix of greens for the rind was awesome! So So wonderful!

    Love this watermelon soap! Just curious, what fragrance oil did you use? I have a few already but nothing that smells like a Starburst watermelon candy (but I can certainly taste the candy right now! If you do not feel free to let me know, I understand for sure. I am also a decorative painter and painted lots of watermelons plus have grown them!

      I'm so glad you enjoy watching! I usually use about 4 ounces for this size batch. Basically I use 2 ounces for every 10 ish bars. For my big slab that makes 36 bars, I use 6 ounces. Then for batches that I want to stay fluid for a long time, I'll use one ounce for every 10 ish bars.

      @sweethomesoaps4811  Před rokem +1

      I made the seeds out of soap dough and a clay extruder. I let them dry a bit and cut them for the top. I used the long canes for the inside of the soap.

    Does using the spatula stop the soap from mixing with the lower layer?

    • @sweethomesoaps4811
      @sweethomesoaps4811  Před 3 lety +1

      It can, but it also depends on how set up the lower layer is. That's why I like to mix the layers separately and not all at the same time. I like to give the lower layers time to set up more. You could also place your mold on a heating pad, but I was using an accelerating fragrance, so I knew it would set up enough.
