    You have to admit though, unlike other game to movie adaptions they pretty much nailed nemesis's look exactly apart from the eye, i was so impressed with the real life recreation of him to be honest, but those movies are just mindless popcorn flicks unfortunately.

    Nemesis will forever be the most "When will you fucking die already !???" kind of bosses of any video game ever. The second place is forever taken by Pyramid Head.

      And when the Nemesis death scene play, I feel empty. Like, we spent so much time running and fighting to the point that we grew attached to it.

  • @Highwang
    @Highwang Před 10 lety +60

    Man, Nemesis is really cool. Despite being manufactured/created, he's really more of a primal creature where eliminating specific targets is more along the lines of natural to him. That alone made him far more intimidating than say Tentacruel Wesker or other villains: Nemesis doesn't have a MO or grudge, he kills because its what he does.

    • @Sifer2
      @Sifer2 Před 10 lety +20

      Yeah he is kind of like the original Terminator. It's nothing personal. He just isn't ever going to stop until he kills you.

    • @johntoye6602
      @johntoye6602 Před 6 lety +3

      Dude you can't say that not really. In fact i'd say you are really far from the reality. The original tyrant is closer to what you are describing, killed wesker apparently, went after the others, he didn't care. Tyrant 103 and nemesis they had orders. Birkin or g had purpose to reproduce but held no grudges. Only wesker and the human type characters had that kind of motivation. I can say what you've said about nemesis, for most the monsters these games have offered us.

    Nemesis still has a special place in my heart. This type of enemy seems to have become a mainstay of the franchise but they never nail it like they do with him. He is my gold standard of the chase you through the game guy.

    Interesting to note, the Euro branch made five of them, the first one they made way too smart and it decided to make a break for it and was taken down with the force of a small army, the second is the one they sent after Jill and the other three they didn't use for some reason.

    • @Anglerbe
      @Anglerbe Před 10 lety +1

      I thought it was 4, not 5. Could be wrong about that...

    • @boxtank5288
      @boxtank5288 Před 6 lety +1

      Sgblues2017 makes sense it took an absurd amount of power to kill a nemesis so it would require small army to actually kill one of them. I think the reason they didn't deploy the others was twofold one: the company went under and 2: Strange Priorities...

  • @AustinOnSugar
    @AustinOnSugar Před 10 lety +63

    So, since you're big on Nemesis and not too hard on RE6, I'm curious:
    What's your opinion on The Ustanak that Jake and Sherry have to take down? In my mind it's a direct homage to Nemesis, and doesn't do a half-bad job recreating the terror of a nigh-invincible foe.

    • @HyperBitHero
      @HyperBitHero  Před 10 lety +72

      Originally, I was going to talk about him a bit in this video, but ended up cutting the section from the script. Ustanak is one of the better parts of RE6. He definitely makes Jake's campaign the most enjoyable in the game. I really like the look of his claw arm, and the fact that he can switch it out for other weapons is very cool. The thing is, RE6 is still RE6, so he only appears in heavily scripted sections, which don't leave as much of an impact as the confrontations in RE3 with Nemesis.

    • @AustinOnSugar
      @AustinOnSugar Před 10 lety +19

      HyperBitHero Fair enough. For me, I still dreaded the next section where I'd have to face him, much like how I always dreaded Nemesis popping in from around the corner on the next screen. But you're right in that his appearances are far more scripted than the gritty, panic-stricken encounters with his inspiration.

    I remember back in 1999 is when I played this on the original PS1/PSX. Seeing the commercial and how scary and never-ending terror of something chasing you... The Nemesis.
    Glad at least they included the visit to the RPD, though you couldn't really explore the rest of the police department aside from the 2nd floor office and the first floor. Though I must admit that RE3 takes place hours before RE2 so in essence its a prequel.
    Even the music at times sounds like it was inspired from Terminator 2 Judgement day, like the Nemesis is the T-1000.... no matter how many rounds you put into it, the Nemesis just keeps on charging and chasing you trying to terminate your very existence... just like how the T-1000 was programmed to follow an order to kill its target.

    I hate it when companies try to follow the fanbase which likes Action-based games.

    • @symphony137
      @symphony137 Před 7 lety

      I would say it was Code Veronica, the game that was originally meant to be RE3 but Capcom had to change the title because of some contract with Sony to release the next numbered RE game on their console. RE3 was actually meant to me a side-story of RE2 (which it is) and not the next main title.

      @விஷ்ணு_கார்த்திக் Před 6 lety

    Thoroughly enjoyed this because it nailed every bit of things I love about Nemesis and more. Plus, we share opinions about his other versions! It never compares to the original. Still though, I have to admit the coolest side version of him is his MvC 3 counterpart. His grunts are decent, and it shows how crazy he is if he ever finds himself in a fighting game. But never, I mean never, will any other Nemesis compare to the original. That guy.... let's just say I'm a grown man and I still scream like a little girl when I see him in-game.

    Dang, I hate this type of ultra-persistent villains. The Dahaka from PoP:WW was a equally persistent enemy. Only when unlocking all health upgrades and the Water Sword would you take that bastard on. For the time before the conditions are made, he's indestructible.

    • @Xilivian
      @Xilivian Před 9 lety +1

      +Maciej Bohn I hope you're kidding about the "actually taking the Dahaka on". He was just an annoying invincible enemy which would show up at scripted points in the game, and would relentlessly chase you down and take your soul as soon as he caught you. Never any fighting to be had with the annoying bastard throughout the entirety of the game.

    • @CommanderBohn
      @CommanderBohn Před 8 lety +1

      Xilivian4560 In order to fight him and to unlock the true ending of WW, you have to get all the health upgrades and then get the Water Sword before the final fight.
      But yeah, he was annoying and invincible. But then I was indeed scared shitless of him. At least you could fight Nemesis in RE3 and you could get rewarded for it.
      Dahaka however was no sell personified. You could only run from him unless you upgraded that health of yours and obtained that Water Sword.

    • @Xilivian
      @Xilivian Před 8 lety

      Maciej Bohn Wow, there are multiple endings to The Warrior Within? Never knew that. Sounds like a pain to get the true ending, but i'll make sure to watch a video on it later. Thanks for telling me about it though, that's pretty interesting.

      Maciej Bohn Actually the Dahaka always has being way scarier in my book.
      Why? Because he's not human, he's way too smart, can control time, the game loses it's color when he approaches, he's nigh invincible exept for one mystic sword, he speaks backwards, he has a metal theme by fucking godsmack, he looks sorta like baphomet and he finds you wherever you are.

      @DistributionMackerel Před 8 lety +2

      Five months belated -- pardon this bump -- he can already do that. Without the minigun. Actually, his inferior, the T-103 Tyrant could do that. In fact, in the titular third game (Resident Evil 3: Nemesis) when Jill encounters the rail cannon, she finds the corpses of two United States Special Forces units and the body of one T-103 Tyrant. The Tyrant wrecked them, decked out in military grade weapons & body armor before being felled by the Rail Cannon.
      Nemesis, with the same kind of bulletproof coat, is vastly more resilient and has much greater physical strength than his mass produced cousins. He didn't need the minigun because he's a *bio-organic weapon*. The minigun scene was still fun to watch, though.

    • @DanteSnake92
      @DanteSnake92 Před 8 lety

      Oh, yes, it was quite fun. It might have been that some producers looked at Nemesis and thought "well, if he can get killed by a chick with a pistol, he needs an anti-personel ranged weapon". TBF, a minigun is highly impractical, but then, we're talking RE.

    • @boxtank5288
      @boxtank5288 Před 6 lety

      Archer Gilgamesh actually it wasn't the rail cannon that got it as it causes quite clearly a ton of damage to the things that are in the path of the blast, there's actually more than one tyrant in the room and you notice as well rocket launchers laying around and the pods from RE 2 which explains where those tyrants went. The military in that room definitely died but they died fighting.

    Looking back at RE: Apocalypse, I felt that Nemesis was butchered in the movie version.

      nega-venom only in the end, when he shows feelings.
      The rest of the movie he was alright, he was basically fighting a suoerheroine and still managed.

      Razgriz Knight I see your point. If the movie used the video game version, Alice wouldn't have stand a chance.

      nega-venom It was an action flick.
      Maybe it is nostalgia but i like it.
      Alice is basically female Wesker, and seeing them fight in that movie is the closest we'll get to a Wesker vs Nemesis.

      Razgriz Knight Interesting. I think RE: Apocalypse was the last good movie before they turned her into a mary sue and made the rest of the movie into a generic post apocalyptic action movie that has barely to do with RE apart from some poorly done fan service, and I don't the pervy stuff. Sure, some of the characters from the games do appeared in the game but they're all useless without Alice, and even though they look like their counterparts but personality wise, they're not really them. Also, Alice is a there-won't-be-a-story-without-them character and the writers gave her powers that she pulls outta her ass as the story goes along. Apparently, her weapons are the only thing effective against the axe men but the other's weapons are useless.

    I know it's a fighting game and not focused on the survival-horror aspect of the character but how did you feel about his portrayal in U. Marvel vs. Capcom 3?

    Did you record this from an emulator? If so, which one? I prefer ePSXe myself, as I have been able to tune it for the most accurate emulation across games.
