  • What's up, guys! This time we make a really cool-looking Steampunk/Retrofuturistic Incandescent Flashlight that's also quite practical as a rechargeable battery-driven emergency torch for when you have power-outs or in survival situations.
This torch emits light for about 40-60 minutes on a full charge.
The charger I use is a 12V 1A DC adapter and takes anywhere from 2-4 hours to fully charge the flashlight.
I hope you enjoyed watching this video! If you did, please give it a thumbs up, share, and subscribe to my CZcams channel! Thanks!

Hey everyone! The comment section has finally been re-enabled over the whole channel after 2 years by CZcams themselves who shut it down in the first place. Glad to be in touch with my viewers again! :)

Hey, I am in the process of making the charging indicator but after finishing it it always shows red (used a usb c jack instead of a barrel jack), I tested it after connecting it to the usb charger and gradually dialling the potentiometer but it stays red

Hey there. Are you using the same transistor as I am? Have you tried connecting batteries of different voltages to trigger the green LED to light up? Maybe your resistor values are not matching. Please check your connections again as well.

The trial circuit I made to test the charging indicator, double checked all the components, only issue I can think of is I might have gotten the legs of the transistor mixed up (it's the same one as used by you, transistor label facing me , I think it's gonna be from left to right- reference, anode, cathode) request to take a look and let me know if you can spot any issues, nothing lights up now !
      P.S. Thanks in advance!

Make sure you wipe the Halogen Bulb with Isopropyl Alcohol after touching the glass with your greasy hands, otherwise it reduces bulb life.
Also, since Halogen Bulbs are made of Quartz, they let through UV radiation.

can you make room heaters with those light bulbs? with a maximum current of 5 amperes of course

Ok guys, that is not a incandescent bulb. ITS A HALOGEN.
    2 things to know:
    they get super hot.
    don’t touch the bulb.
If you touched them, your finger oil can shorten the bulbs lifespan and it might not work.
