This episode was very real. It shows how most adult friendships end. I do think they will reconcile their friendship but in real life most ppl just leave it like that. This episode also shows how hard it is to make new friendships as an adult. It showed how trying to be nice to ppl and most are ungrateful or want too much. That pregnant woman at the store. How are you asking for help for stuff that's 150 dollars lol, smh.

Also how easy it is to get stuck in unhealthy adult friendships because it’s so hard to make friends as an adult. It was easier for Issa to distance herself from Molly at the beginning of the season because of her budding friendship with Condola. When Condola ghosted her she had no choice but to regress back into that friendship with Molly even though she really didn’t want to.

I don't think Issa and Molly will discuss their heated argument until episode 9 and they won't resolve anything this season. The writing was on the wall since season 1. Molly recently made amends with her colleagues, her family and Andrew - Issa will not get the same energy. Issa will go through a solo season and invest in herself. Tiffany and Kelli will keep us (the audience) in the know of what's happening in both of the ladies' lives, but unlike Tiffany and Kelly's rift, Issa and Molly are done (for now).

Love love LOVE this show! There's so many similarities I have with Issa and I've had a few Molly's that I needed to part with. Basically when you're the insecure black girl in any group there's comfort in everyone's roles. As soon as Issa stepped out of her awkwardness and became what everyone says she needs to be, THEY get awkward with her newness. Not a single one of her friends believed in her but that's the role she let continue. It's hard to stay in the same dynamics when you're not the same. Seasonal friends for sure. Let Lawrence be your best friend girl!!! Black couple unite!!

But why should some other woman benefit from her being there for him and supporting him for 5 years? Why should Issa try and find another man and start over when they're both clearly still in love with one another. I don't know why couples feel like they can't glow up separate and return with love and respect for each other... I think it would be a great testament to maturity and black love...

It’s never been about absorbing Molly from her responsibility. Unlike Issa, Molly has always been opened to hashing it out. Unlike Issa, Molly didn’t unfriend her when things go distant. Lol ppl are so blinded by the likes or traits of Issa that they can’t she exactly what she’s responsible for. Issa removed the opportunity for reconciliation. Issa unfriended Molly, without telling her, because Molly set a boundary. They both have contributions but Issa is mainly responsible for their friendship ending. Friendships have issues.. that’s to be expected. But quitting/ ending them... when it’s not mutual there’s someone to look to... and bc of Issa’s decisions and behavior I hold her responsible, specifically for it ending.. but the creation of tension is shared.

      C’Yo - Create Your Own
Molly was not always open to hashing things out. Watch the episode where they go visit Tiffany again. Issa was being cool, let Molly take her spot, and talked to her with the rest of the girls and Molly kept reacting badly to everything she said.
And then Molly used that opportunity to jump to conclusions about Issa and Lawrence and talk badly about her to Tiffany.
Also Issa was the only one reaching out after the We Got Y’all fight that Molly started because she was mad that Issa encouraged her to go to therapy. Molly kept pushing her away.
I don’t think anyone has been excusing Issa’s behavior since she was heavily criticized for ditching Molly on Thanksgiving. But I do see Molly stans refusing to hold her accountable for her own behavior and her own self importance. That’s one thing she and Issa have in common. The only difference is that Issa doesn’t show out when she doesn’t get her way or when something isn’t about her.
Remember, Molly is constantly starting fights and drawing attention to herself at public events (We Got Y’all fundraiser, her parent’s anniversary, Issa’s mixer, AND the block party.)

This episode was a straight FILLER EPISODE...I hate that but it is what it is now. So back to the Black Party episode!
Look, when or if a friend gets in your face like they wanna swing? They are NO LONGER your friend. U can be mad as nails but THAT was just wrong.
To be honest, Molly kept bringing negative stuff up to Issa...and Issa gave it right back to Molly (eventually in season 3). Issa stopped telling Molly everything, cuz Molly stayed with the negative tip! On Bday, she curved Nathan, she said she didn't believe in her project (about the block party thing)...like a good friend will ask questions if they don't understand and be supportive! She also said she wanted things to be cool with Condola, leaving that Lawrence mess in the dust but Molly kept pushing. Y u doin all that? Do u want me to win? Do u want me be happy and positive? You mad, and u want me to know u mad? Don't do that!
Issa found a way NOT to involve Molly, which was tactical, not sneaky in my opinion. Nathan offered to help, Issa said cool...can u ask ya boy to supply me with an Artist. After a month (1 month til the Block Party) Andre didn't even MENTION he helped out Issa. I wonder why he didn't say anything??? Cuz Andrew knew something was going on between them, but he felt, as a good boyfriend he would still help his girls girl/his roommates friend. And The MANAGER WAS PRAISING ANDREW FOR GETTING VINCE STAPLES THE GIG! Don't bring drama to the event, wait til it's over for ya'll to talk!
At Tiffany's house, Molly spoke to Tiff and Issa spoke to Kelli instead of having a come to Jesus moment together! When I assume all the time u just making it worse! Ya'll adults? Tall that mess out!!!!
Some relationships are seasonal/reasonal...find out which 1 and keep it moving!
Also...Issa Rae (not Issa Dee), I see you sporting that engagement ring at the table😏 CONGRATS!!!!!!

    • @queen_j1422
      @queen_j1422 Před 4 lety

@@fullmooninbloom I can understand you saying "more insight on Issa's decision making"...but Issa's decision making has been shown in EVERY episode. We found out at the block party she asked Nathan to see if Andrew could help, we saw the first time Issa cleaned/unpacked her apt that she felt accomplished, we saw she decided NOT to go to Molly's parents for Thanksgiving based off her brother saying be u..don't apologize for your feelings...and u don't have to do something you don't WANT to do, etc.. Issa does things based off of how she is feeling. That last episode she wanted to feel better about the fight with Molly...so she did things to try to make herself feel validated that she wasn't a user. Molly said she "stays needing a favor", Daniel said "out of all the places u went, u decided to stay with me"(Issa said he was closer to her Job)...which was AFTER Daniel "boom there goes the dynamite" in Issa's face then said "now we are even". The episode showed Issa continuing to do things based off how she felt. And cleaning her place again? That was an accomplishment. If your living space is tidy your mind feels the same way.
I wanted more substance. I loved her going to her mom, she needed guidance/perspective from some who knew her from her core. I also appreciate them showing Molly at the resturant and Issa deciding not to go in. Issa was still upset and hurt. And we know Issa doesn't like to talk about problems/issues. Communication is an issue for BOTH Issa and Molly. Basically 5 scenes were needed, Issa's Mom scene, the Kelli and Issa phone convo scene, Issa cleaning up her place scene, Issa responding to the FB folks and seeing Molly in the restaurant. Other than those? I needed more content.

It's kinda funny that Issa's explanation of why she included the mom fits into Molly's theory that she Issa is a user. Going only to mom because you have a problem and know where else to turn is a little selfish. I know moms are there for support but ONLY going to them when you have problems, how is that ok?

Thats what mom's are for? Issa is an adult living on her own, of course her much older mother with an established life isnt going to be as big of a character as Issa's friend group

How is that selfish? Adults usually try to figure out their own problems without having to worry their parents. So when you get to a point where you have absolutely no where to go of course you call your parents. Most parents are there to comfort their children no matter how old they are. Good parents welcome these opportunities because they don't get them a lot when their children become adults. All Issa needed was advice and a laugh which her mother provided. Her mom seemed as if she was glad to give her that comfort only a good mom can give.

@@erika0182 , Right! If anything this shows that Issa's mother is a good parent.

@@erika0182 Obviously a mom is there for support but every relationship is a two way street, no? Do you only talk to your parents when you have a problem? Correct me if I'm wrong but Issa didn't even wanna go to her mom for Thanksgiving. That fits into the user theory.

@@OtakWho Again to ONLY go there for a problem is a user. Obviously parents are there for support but don't you at least check on them to see how they're doing?
