I'm a bladesmith, and I think I'm gonna be doing some oxidized copper fittings on my next blade after watching this video!!! Great work man.
Wait people still make swords? that's cool
@@mekniwassime2098 yeah a machine can't make a very nice $300 kitchen knife
How did it go?
Spit Fire yeah it’s gaining popularity again. There are thousands and thousands of blacksmiths and blade makers
Other people: Hey, have you seen that cool ring making youtuber Patrick Adair?
Me: You mean Paddy cakes bakes?
I will be using that name in my head from now on! It is a fitting name. Makes me chuckle just thinking about it. :)
This made me laugh very hard
You kidding me?? im literally watching the Pirates of the Carribean and i get a message that PAD uploaded a new video of a shipwrecked ring! The ring turned out amazing/delicious! really great job, i always enjoy your videos.

Congrats mate cheers
holy shet, this is probably my favorite ring of yours. I love the oceanic, washed up near the boardwalk kinda feel.
Consider doing a time-lapse of the oxidation of the ring next time! Beautiful work.
Wow the finished product looks amazing good job.
Wowzers in my trousers.
When I come up with a knife design it's amazing to then hold it in your hand. Like you said, it's VERY rewarding to have an idea in your head come to fruition. Great job!
You should try to carve a 1960's bioshock-like design in the this style of ring.
I'd abseolutely buy it!!!
Also, if you put this on your website you should name it, "The Subma-Ring"
Riotous Rebel omfg that's such a good name
My wife made a ring for a couple that literally was the helmet of a Big Daddy. It came out amazingly.
Those final photos of the finished product were amazing! Such an awesome ring.
wow, i love this ring. Briliant work Patrick
don't you mean pattycakes?
Really neat process and color palette. Copper is such a cool material.
This is probably my favorite ring you have made. Nice job! It would be awesome if you made a ring made with sand, sea glass and/or a sea shell of some sort. 😀
edit: You should add glow powder too so it looks like plankton at night.
Keaton Howard that's a really good idea
This is by far my favourite design. I love this. Well done
Best video ive seen about metals ever
Love the ring.
I think it looks better and more genuine with the patina on the inside.
Definitely my favorite of your rings! Fabulous!
Absolutely perfect!
Incredible ring. Looks fantastic!

This book here goes over a lot of unique patinas and finishes using Japanese techniques. They are very fine art and show piece oriented. A lot of work goes into making these patinas, but they might be good for inspiration. I've worked with making copper jewelry before, so I feel your struggle! Such labor, such a great material which is misunderstood! Anyway, this is a great video and really opened my eyes to getting to a finished piece through different techniques that I wouldn't have thought about. Keep it up!
Patrick Adair Designs hello, can i buy the ring ?
Perhaps you could design one with and include a band of coral somehow? Don't know how well coral would machine, but just an idea to tie in another element of the sea as well as some awesome color.
I bought this ring for 300 on preorder. Dakota wymer is a friend/coworker of mine and he told me he knows you from home. I love my ring, keep up the good work.
thank you! the music choise and volume control was much better in this video!
Excellent idea. Looks great.
Gawd that is gorgeous!
Lovely finish. I've only ever suspended the ring in the ammonia bath by thread and use copper pipe supported by dowel when hammering. Love the end result
I absolutely love this ring. 💖
Funny how a ring like this will only be seen from Patrick - very nice!
That’s so amazing you did such a good job Patrick!
im honestly so amazed by your work. keep up the great work!
It turned out amazing
For weeks I've hesitated ordering a ring. Now you show me this beautiful peace. Well, just pre-ordered one...
This is one of my favorites that you've done yet. It's beautiful.
Unfortunately I can't afford to pre-order it right now, but once I'm a bit more squared away financially I would be willing to even pay full price for it. But just know there is another person interested in them, even though I'm not pre-ordering.
About to preorder this ring. From pirates of the Caribbean to my love for diving.. This is my perfect gift. This is truly a masterpiece you’ve created!
If the time is mostly in waiting for oxidation, you could always try to run a batch of these. You hammer the surface, so you could take a bar for say seven rings, put your bevels in and have a small powered space so you can cut the rings out without ruining your finish. Hammer away, sand away, doing the faces as the ring before them is completed and removed from the bar, and then batch oxidize. If two of the seven come out right, you can clean the other five and then put them right back in.
Love it! I'm a huge fan of copper & verdigris.
A friend of mine used one of those ammonia capsule on me when camping in the morning. On the video i go straight from mid snore to wtf in like 2 seconds. Unique experience.
Capthrax1 haha! I’m sure it was very “unique”
I really hope that you added this to your store because this ring is just beautiful
*Total Awesomeness*
Love your videos Patrick....
That ring is super AESTHETIC.
This ring is amazing
This is sick! Amazing work of art.
It looks amazing
this is beautiful
Love the ring! I've worked with copper sheets before, and accelerated the verdigris patina, I spread ash (any type will do)and lightly moisten with a sprayer, let sit in the sun for a full day, gently wipe clean, then use vinegar vapor. The final result is more green than what you ended up with, but move vivid and doesn't wipe off easily.
That's awesome! You could also place a piece of string through the ring an have the string tied around the box so the ring is elevated with no direct contact!
I love the ring but I've seen that kind of thing happen with copper and brass and it wasn't nowhere near a beach right out in the woods the salt in the ground does the same thing beautiful great job keep up the great work take care and God bless
I love the monotone dry humor. Its a nice touch.
never seen you work with copper. idk why but its so pretty on the lathe with all the shavings
Man that's amazing. Great job
That came out so good. Good job
Beautiful I've been waiting on this exact ring 😍

man every time I look at one of your videos it inspires me to keep moving forward with all my projects. I see this is a rather old vid from the 18s but I am hoping you still review the comments. I have decided to make Rings as my main line of stuff this is coming to be my new nitch in life. I started off making slab tables now to rings, wow go figure.
I love to hear that! Keep up the ring making you’ll love it!
Looks just amazing!
Best Patty Cakes Bakes episode in my opinion, I love the end result, wish I could bake that every day at home 😍
I started watching earlier this week and omg I am so addicted to all your vids! I'm saving up for a ring now!
It’s amazing I would love a ring like that

You are a Amazing craftsman.
I have an obsession with rings so I am obsessed with these videos.
I absolutely love this ring.🐰🐰
Looks badass dude!!
Huge fan of the video love this ring!!!
I've done some patina experiments and you can get a no bad result with malt vinager and salt. Plus you can grind glow powder with salt for patina the results are interesting 😁😁
Yeahhhh really cool I love the blue effect on it 😍❤
It looks so cool!
I've used renaissance wax buffed onto the metal to seal patina, tried ammonia and salt, stazon ink pads and other alcohol inks (like sharpies) and they all sealed great with wax.
Crazy cool! I for sure want this one
Beautiful ring! My favorite next to the bogwood! :D
Awesome work, sir
You`re realy an artist, amazing!
wow... that looks awesome!!
I love that texture way better than the obsidian finish. And the vintage look is great would love to see one with maybe wooden rings on the edge and a resin layer in the middle filled with tiny clock springs. "I will try and add a picture of my inspiration for this if I can" sent the images through Facebook messenger on your page. Peter brown a youtuber who works in resin casting was my inspiration on this ring. I feel it only fair to give credit where due.
I saw in a video in another channel that the artist used a uv activated clear coat on his copper rings. It would look great, and would probably be thin enough to work into the inner band and around the tapered edges, without bleeding over onto the oxidized surfaces of the outer band. It cures hard as a construction hard hat and polishes up really nice for a smoother durable inner band, which would keep it comfortable to wear without green staining on the finger.
I bet you could even use it on the outer band and use a sand blast or a low grit sand paper to keep it from being shiny on the outside of the band, to keep the rustic look from the oxidizing process, while likewise protecting against sweat copper staining of adjacent fingers.

Awesome ring, I also love working with copper, still waiting for that opal ring lol!
I was thinking of making me one like this with some of that same copper I have laying around. It looks amazing man
Very cool Patrick!
That's freaking awesome
Gracias for the video amigo ringmaker.
Beautiful!
@Patrick
I love your rings and all the designs you've done over the years. Your video editing and photography are phenomenal. My only quip I have with your rings is, I enjoy my rings to be very streamlined and thin. I like to be able to make a tight fist and not be able to feel the ring. If I were to order one of your rings is that something you could do??
I need to go save for one of these rings. I NEED one.
I love the color of copper!!!!!
So beautiful
Very nice 👍 thank you for sharing
Fantastic design. I was wondering what sort of lacquer you're using at the end to prevent the blue and green oxidation from rubbing off again with wear.
Beautiful
This actually looks so damn cool
I just wanted to say that I checked your website and you make beautiful rings my friend!! ☺
Very nice ring. Great job!!!
Very curious as to what this sealer you're using is. Beautiful ring, hope I get to own one of your works some day.
