Great camera work... I can see everything well!
Awesome, thanks Chad!
WoW! This is soooo helpful! You're a really great teacher and that ring is really gorgeous! Nice lathe too. I bought a cheap one but it works for my beginner level work. I look forward to more videos.
Really nice. I like this longer format video with more details on the process involved.
Great video. I learned quite a bit
Where did you get the collet chuck to hold the ring expander.
Thanks for the Great detail in this video.
Great job! I love how you detailed each step, but sped up the repetitive parts. I'd love to see another video where you take down the inlay (where your battery died).
Beautiful work, Ioved how it turned out. I bet it feels so satisfying when they turn out even better than you thought they would. Great job!
Nice
Looks awesome
Looks amazing!
Thanks for showing the process in detail.
Awesome job! This encourages me to try new projects!
Gorgeous!💕🇨🇦
🔥great vid 👍
Nice job. I was linked here from another video where a ring like this was completed with resin. Now I’m wondering why use resin at all when you can just use CA glue?
Would like to know more about the lathe. Great video. Thanks for sharing❤
Thanks! It's a Oneway 1224 :)
Beautiful work. I'm attempting something similar but with uv resin. Hasn't been working as well as I'd hoped lol
Can you make a ring like this using sterling silver or white gold channel inlay base??
Outstanding demonstration, loved the expanded lesson. Quick question, where did you get the collet to hold the ring expander hold, or is it a Morse 2 taper??
Keep up the great work!!
Cheers Bob McCabe
Thank you so much for sharing! What kind of lathe do you use?
Awesome. I was having problems with achieving consistency with the glow in the dark powder. NY sound on my phone doesn't work. What did you mix with the powder to make it a paste was it ca glue or water? I have about 36 stainless steel blanks and a whole box of inlay material from pigments powders n stones. I made a lathe from a 24v electric motor and broke mandrel so I can do 4 or 5 rings all at once. I'm digging it out the shed after seeing this lol
Haha that's amazing! It was thin CA glue to set the mica powder
What lathe did you use?
When you start cutting with the carbide tool, what’s the metal bar that you’re using to support the tool? And where are you mounting that on?
This is a tool rest attached to the bed of the lathe. It's adjustable so you can line it up with your project
Nice video! too bad your battery went dead-would have been nice to see the missing part.
Would like to have seen the part where you cut the channel for CA or a close up of the channel
You can see it best at about 12:42 where the opal is cut just below the walls of the ring. I'll do another video showing this done up close
What’s the carbide cutting tool you use?
It's a 10.5mm square carbide cutter on the Pen Master Accu-cut chisel
What lathe do u use?
We use a Oneway lathe in the shop
You really need to rough up inlay channel with sandpaper or your inlay will fall out.
Thanks, I'll try this next time!
