    I recently upgraded from the Canon M50 to this amazing Canon R50. Leaps and bounds better! The uncropped 4K @30fps video quality is among thee very best I've seen. Coupled with the tack sharp, best sun flare capability - Nisi 9mm f2.8 RF lens is an excellent combo for shooting real estate videos and photos. Full frame results at a third of the cost.

    So glad i seen this short review as I was deciding between Sony 6700 , Fuji XS2 both more than double the price. All of my old canons still work even the ancient T2i . Ican even use the old lenses with an adapter.

    I just got the R50 and the Nisi 9mm f/2.8 RF lens. Absolutely amazing combo for shooting real estate! A huge upgrade from the Canon M50 and Laowa 9mm f/2.8 ef-m lens.
    I like the full auto mode on the R50 as it looks amazing on the viewfinder. But I have the Nisi 9mm f2.8 manual focus lens. I can't take a picture in full auto mode for some reason. Are there settings to allow this?
    Also wondering if you can do a comparison between 3 hdr bracketed vs full auto mode assist photos? I'm imagining closer results than expected. Blended hdr photos are tough to beat but this will make for an interesting test.

    • @KenRockwellTV
      @KenRockwellTV  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Your lens is probably very manual mechanical aperture control, no electronic connections to the camera so the camera can’t control the lens. Thus the camera only can control shutter and ISO - full auto needs also to control the aperture

    Hey Ken! For a beginner getting into shooting wildlife/ milky way/ landscape, would you spend the extra $100 and go for an R10? The extra dial and slightly larger grip is nice, but unsure if its worth it. Thoughts? What about growing in skillset with R50 vs R10? Which is better for a beginner's skill growth with $100 price in mind? Thanks!

    • @KenRockwellTV
      @KenRockwellTV  Před rokem +5

      I would, because I use those dials all the time. I also love the automatic leveling unique to the R7 - but it costs twice as much as the R50 and the photos are identical among three. All depends how much convenience is worth to you and how much money you have for this. See also www.kenrockwell.com/tech/is-it-worth-it.htm thanks!.

    Hi! I just bought this camera and it was already over my budget but I just couldn’t resist lol but I’ve seen so many reviews about the kit lens is really not that good as the aperture can’t go low enough to make blurry backgrounds. That’s what I was supposed to use it for, product photography with blurry backgrounds. Do I really have to spend even more money to upgrade to another objective?😫 or how will this kit lens do on close up shots?

    • @KenRockwellTV
      @KenRockwellTV  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Set the 18-45mm to 45. Get as close as you can. Shoot in Av exposure mode at f/6.3 and see how you like it. It should work fine. The closer you get the more out of focus will be the backgrounds.

    • @KenRockwellTV
      @KenRockwellTV  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I prefer the R50 over anything from Sony. Remember that photography is an art; cameras don’t create color, people do. If a shooter lacks skill, as most reviewers do, the results will be random. See also www.kenrockwell.com/tech/2-kinds-of-photographers.htm thanks!

    • @KenRockwellTV
      @KenRockwellTV  Před 4 měsíci +1

    You should tell people that Canon claims that the camera supports UVC/UAC, which means that it can be used as a web camera via a USB-C connection. BUT... it turns out that the USB connection doesn't transmit audio - just video. (In other words, it doesn't really support UAC.)
    It's bad enough that the camera simply doesn't do something that the literature claimes it does. When I contacted them, they weren't interested in clearning up their documentation to reflect the truth.
