The fact that Nagash cursed vampires with their classic weaknesses out of annoyance is so hilariously on brand for him.
“Nagash throws a hissy fit and kills the entire Nurgle daemon army with one blow, because his version of a hissy fit is a WMD” is such a good line. And it also perfectly encapsulates Nagash’s character!

Funny story. Mannfred tried using an army composed almost entirely of undead to wage a lightning war across the Empire during Winter, intending on taking the capital and declaring himself Emperor in less than a year. He did this because, in his mind, Vlad would have lost the war against the Empire anyways even if he still had his ring because he took too long waging a conventional war with too many mortal soldiers to look after. This was sound logic on Mannfred's part, except he'd failed to realize Vlad wasn't just being a good sport; he was actually taking the Empire way more seriously than Mannfred ever did.
Vlad had a lot of weaker vampire subordinates that could act as champions in a pinch when the hordes of undead simply didn't hit hard enough, and he went through the trouble of fielding a mortal army in addition to his zombies and skeletons because humans don't spontaneously combust when some dude with a bad haircut starts reading Sigmar's phone book out loud. Manfred, being a self-absorbed dumbass that thought he was so much smarter than dear old daddy Vladdy, didn't figure this part out until his undead army was literally falling apart in front of him and realized that he didn't have enough vampire subordinates or mortal soldiers to pick up the slack, because he spent the last century or so since Vlad's deafeat killing most of the vampires in Sylvania, and he'd deliberately planned this campaign to be as inconvenient to the lives of mortals as possible.
In short, there is a reason there is a meme of Nagash screaming at Mannfred, and it's not because he stopped Vlad from being the next Settra the Imperishable, although that's definitely MY biggest reason to scream at Manfred's sorry pale ass.

Apart from Sigmar, priests of Morr are very dedicated to the eradication of the undead, which makes sense since Morr is the imperial god of death. There’s also a group of vampire hunters with a personal vendetta against vamps. To start this profession in the Roleplay, you need to have at least one mental illness and the only advancement from this profession is “a brutal death in a puddle of blood”. The only other profession to have death as the final advancement are Dwarf daemon Slayers. Coincidentally, the hunters are called vampire slayers.
In regards to the Vampire's weaknesses, It's actually a battle of wills. Thought and belief makes things happen in the warhammer world, and it's no different for undead who are, by the way, remarkably similar to the daemons. Your basic undead are just corpses puppeted by magic, but the likes of Vampires or spirits are more akin to Daemons.
As a result, Symbols of Faith only hurt vampires if the person wielding them has total faith in them and a stronger will then the vampire in question. If the Vampire doesn't believe that the symbol will hurt him, then His resistance to it comes down to whom is stronger in Will power and belief. Someone like Vlad wouldn't be bothered by some random priest, but Volkmar or any grand theogenist for that matter would make him think twice.

If the British went ahead and buried a mortal man like Napoleon in 4 layers of coffin (tin, mahogany, lead and mahogany in that order), I can only imagine Vlads own burial arrangement being just as funny.
I imagine the stuff in the ghoul stars is the closest to anti-chaos undead in 40K, and they are mixed amongst the unspeakable Lovecraft horrors.
I’m kind of happy Colin didnt really delve into the fact that Nurgle literally mind broke Isabella in her revival by changing her memories to make her think Vlad never loved her and was only using her before making her lead his armies for ‘revenge’ against Vlad

On the flip side, it’s kind of a shame that he didn’t mention how Vlad freed her from Nurgle by giving her his ring and then making the same suicide play that was used against him.

If i remember correctly, then the lifehack Vlad used to break Nagash's control through the ring. By killing himself and not reviving until Nagash is dead, so he cant be controlled

AOS 1.0 had a Legion of Nagash subfaction call the Wraith Fleet rule by a Varkos Varactyr where you can play Vampirates and the current Soulblight Gravelords still mention Varkos Varactyr and his vampire piracy in the realm of fire and confirm he his own Soulblight Dynasty

Super excited for the next Fantasy Fireside, it’s super informative on the fantasy setting. Although it’s not exactly a faction I’m super interest in, I’d love to see an episode on the Empire of Man. I think that’d be useful to contextualise the ‘protagonist’ faction
With the lizardmen getting new models, I think it'd be interesting to delve into their characters and lore.
I'd love an episode on either the Wood or Dark Elves. I absolutely love my knife-eared bastards, but I could never get into the clean, colonial style of the High Elves.

The guy you spoke of at the end was Zacharias the Everliving, an old Necrarch character that consumed his teacher Melkhior who in turn had consumed W'soran many years before.
The only thing that I can compare the equivalent of nagash fully reforming into the old war world for 40K would be if a full strength ctan kinda just appeared when cadia fell and started eating imperial saints so it could punch chaos in the face

Bit late to be saying this, but watching you guys go down the Vampire The Masquerade rabbithole or, God forbid, the World of Darkness rabbithole would be quite entertaining. So possibly something to consider as a future Halloween special or something since you're obviously not confined to just Warhammer.

I love the Vampire Counts. They were my favourite faction on the tabletop.
A little late to the party, but from what I remember the guy that Vlad was killed by was a Sigmarite whom Vlad duelled atop the city's ramparts...and when he was losing, he tackled Vlad and threw the both of them onto the wooden stakes erected around the outer walls. Vlad the Impaled, if you will.
I believe the Sigmarite was tipped off as to Vlad's missing ring, which is why he opted for this approach.
That guy was the Great Theogonist (Sigmar pope) and he knew about the missing ring, because he gave the mission to steal it to the thief, after being told about it by a mysterious stranger aka Manfred.
