Nobody wants to visit Stirland. I hear there is even an entry in the Great Book of Grudges about Stirland because they once served a dwarf lord boiled beer.
About the boiled beer. In Germany we call that "stacheln". The terms comes from the word "Stachel" which means sting. Stacheln works pretty well with Ale or darker beers in general. It is not so much about making the beer boil, but about
caramelizing the sugar that is in the beer. This will intensify the taste of the beer and depending on the beer it will get a nice vanilla aroma. It is worth noting that you only put the hot metal in the beer for a few seconds. The total temperature of the beer should only be raised by a few degrees.
Schlager Freund this is really neat. I like that the creators of war hammer had an interest in german culture enough to incorporate small things like this. Makes it feel lived in and a product of genuine appreciation.
Cool history. Still heresy.
I'm born and raised here and this is completely new to me. Gotta try this next time I have the chance!
How does a stirlander tell the difference between his wife and his cattle?
He can’t!!!
I love this civil history for warhammer
- popular reiklander joke -
Love these empire provinces videos...
Can you do a similar series about dwarven karaks... please?
The Grudgebearer Patt that's actually a very good idea for content!!
No that’s gaye
Myabe after he finished Bretonia? There is a lot of potential for subfaction videos: Dwarfen Karaks, Skaven Clans, Chaos/Norscan Tribes, Bretonian Dukedoms, Lizarmen Cities, Greenskin Tribes and Waaaghs, Vampire Houses, Nehekharan Cities, Beastmen Herds, Imperial Provinces, Dark Elves Kingdoms and Ogre Kingdoms. Have I forgot some?
Why are you gae?
I kinda wanna know more about Chieftain Freya, from what I've read of her in the wikia pages for the Sigmar books she's kind of a bad ass.
She had two children with Sigmar called Friedleifr and Sigulf.
18:50 "lob globs of shit at you"... kinda glides off the tongue, doesn't it?
You are quite the storyteller! I have been a fan of Warhammer (40,000 mostly, but Fantasy as well) since I got my first White Dwarf magazine back in about 1987- I was in a comic book/ used books shop at about age 12, and was looking for some inspiration for drawing. Something different, something I hadn’t seen before- and I picked up a copy of the magazine. Over the years, I read every issue that I could get my hands on (not too many, unfortunately- kind of hard to find as a kid in the US with very limited funds). Until three years ago, that was all the exposure to Warhammer that I had, and then I decided to look for a GW store in my area. Since then, I’ve spent most of my disposable income on 40K- codices, novels, and models, finally- I decided to paint, and have been hooked since. But I didn’t find AOS to be enough like the old Fantasy world that I had loved so much. I’m not a gamer- video or tabletop- but I love the lore, and I love drawing and painting the models, but I really missed Fantasy, and couldn’t find much that wasn’t 40K or AOS- until I stumbled across your channel. I watched one video and immediately subscribed- and for the past few days, I’ve been binge watching your videos. They’re fantastic- and exactly what I’d been missing and looking for all this time! I just wanted to express my sincere thanks for all of the hard work that you must have put into this channel and all these videos. I have a feeling that as soon as I reach the last one, I’m just going to start back at the beginning and watch them all over again. Thank you- your storytelling style is wonderful and very enjoyable- and you’ve given me a great many hours of entertainment of the highest quality.
thank you thank you thank you! I was eagerly awaiting for some Stirland knowledge
Just want to say, I did nominate you as a hobby hero in GW newest marketing stunt
Great Lore Video mate, nice 1 👍
Loving these. keeping fantasy alive :)
p.s. Nagash previously invaded the empire so technically the empire has seen a larger force of undead. One of the south elector counts was even turned vampire. Solland or wissenland.
Sigmar up and wrecked Nagash, didn't he?
Vampires abandoned Nagash in the last push and he cursed them to be weak to Sigmarites (and the sun), so yeah.
But still an undead force larger than Vlad's is all I'm saying xD cuz Nagash
Elizabeth Alyce Fain There's also a story where the Necrarchs led an undead horde into the Empire. In the middle of the battle a Tomb King army arrived, helped the Empire crush the Necrarchs, then just left. Needless to say, the Empire was very confused.
@@1Korlash who are the Necrarchs
@@bullethail3875 they are uber vampire spellcasters
Please do Kraka Drak or any other Dwarfen holds
Stirland's revenge?
I wonder how the timeline would have been different if, nine months after that night, Queen Freya gave birth to a child that looked like Sigmar.
Great videos!
Yay more lore videos. I found something to be thankful for. Now if only they wouldn't get smashed by vlad in the first 10 turns of my campaigns.
I would love if CA does the Empire knighthood/orders justice within the second and third game. Would love to see DLC for the overall "end days" for the Empire and Chaos forces within the third game when daemons/chaos marks joins the game.
Gruwski The Dogski they only question is what would they do to make them unique fron one another
like speed, armor and stuff bec every Kinghtly orders have their own specalties
So far each Knightly Order has their own kind of ritual and way of how they run business. Maybe they'll add in stat changes that makes sense for the different Orders and how they fight lorewise. I think CA did well with the Knights of the Blazing Sun stats as a shock and very aggressive/hard hitting cavalry.
Gruwski The Dogski i meant different abilities like how the knights of the blazing sun have fire damage i imagine the knight's of more would have terror the knight's of the white wolf would be questing knight's for the empire no idea what the other orders would have
The mod Knights of the Empire has a ton of the knightly orders recruitable.
I really do enjoy these
Finally lore again!!!
I’m glad there’s a 40 minute video about Stirland lmao
35:00 Sign of the 'Evil Eye' is the 'devil horns' people do in Heavy Metal.
Vampire armor looks like GW let some 12 years old to design it. "I'm red, I'm spiky, I'm badass" :D
Looks at Manfred
Yes my favorite province :DD
Hey I know this is an old video but I feel it is worth pointing out, I don't know whether it's been pointed out elsewhere, but Morr is not a traditional Empire god, he's actually a Classical god native to Tilea and Estalia. The Cult of Morr is actually an import cult like Verena, Myrmidia, Shallya and Khaine (yes the southerners actually worship the Elven god Khaine, has something to do with the fact that they built all their cities and city-states off of old Elven ruins and have a love for Elven culture. The native Empire pantheon consists of Ulric, Taal, Rhya, Manaan and technically Sigmar. So that's why Morr has its capital in Tilea as opposed to the Empire, not because the Empire doesn't like Morr, but because Morr is technically a foreign import god.
That reminds me. I should put some beer in the fridge for the release of the stellaris update tomorrow.
Thanks, really cool video. Where do you get your info from? do you happen to have any more detail on anything in Sylvania? I'm working on a mod and am trying to trawl up every little detail I can about the province.
No one Likes stirland. THEY SERVED BOILED BEER. AND THEY WHERE SERIOUSLY
good video
Hi, are you planing on doing Reikland, and if so when. I would really appreciate that, thx :)
Good I would love a provinces expansion for Warhammer
The entire game having the scale expansion of the Vortex campaign would be neat.
Well, interesting custom. Throw shit at new people.
How to start a conflict: It was just a prank, bro!
"Fucking pie.... FUCKING FISH HEAD!!"
Just came from Tariff aren't you? Nice
12:15 He got 'Ol Manny in the heart didn't he?
i was all on board with Stirland, but after hearing about the warm beer thing they shall be wiped out and replaced with a halfling puppet council.
Knights of Morr
Immune to fear and terror
Causes fear
Silent
18:30 you forgot demigryph shit
Another grudge to be oh wait...
Warm beer tastes bad but this is my favourite province.
Talos Stormcrown. Probably got himself there through the Elder Scrolls. Talos is a Stirlander, lol.
good one butt i will like to see High Elves provinces lore !!!!!!!!
OPLITHS GR Italianspartacus has a pretty good high elf province vid
OPLITHS GR Empire provinces have more a lot more lore about them because more stories took place there, plus the RPG supplements really fleshed their local geography and cultures (even if they 're not considered canon). There's more to talk about, so it makes sense that he isn't doing the kingdoms of Ulthuan yet. I definitely hope he does, though.
You were surprisingly close with "Stirhügel", just put the emphasis on Stir
i await the day a high elf visits Stirhügel
The strange Cults and strange gods that they worship are clear HP Lovecraft references
i wonder, why didnt the stirlanders just take the moot back by force? Halflings arent weak, but they seem outnumbered and at a disadvantage to their stirland neighbors.
Can you do Solland?
o hell yeah
ah talos an evil god the Aldmer were right to ban his worship
May Talos guide you
What about Bylorak, God of the Swamp his followers were badass!
So their motto is effectively: VICTORIS AUT MORTIS!
I thought stirlands colors were green and yellow what's with the green and red?
It's a shame the Stirlanders didn't retain any of their original culture particularly the matriarchal aspect that've actually set them apart/make them stand out from rest of the Empire.
is stirland named after the ruhr? because that's kinda clever.
late but, yes thats RLY clever. Damn, how i`ve never noticed
Probably modeled after real geo region I live in, Styria
Asking for her armies and people and the only thing that she asked from him is to sleep with her? Wtf? :D
Firas Ziada Gave him aids.
Firas Ziada to be fair she was probably swayed by his arguments and just threw that in as a “personal bonus”.
In my opinion her reasoning was that she wanted strong children and Sigmar being the epitome of manliness would suit very well. According to the book ”god king” she gave birth to twin boys that were the illegitimate sons of Sigmar. In a matriarchal society it makes sense... even more if one was a girl but that could not be planned for :D!
Maybe she anticipated how much influence Sigmar would get and thus decided to tie her bloodline to his? Children of Sigmar would definetly have been potential heirs.
How is warm beer more disgusting than having animal shit thrown at you by little kids????????
They should get rid of Confederation mechanic, I just see this faction as potential reikland terrirtory.
Who is Talos? Cant find any info on him.
Daryl Sawitto One of the nine divines......ok I’ll see my way out
He is the true god of man!!
The God of the Nordic people of Skyrim, also known as Tieber Septim in the Imperial province. He unified the nations of Tamriel much like Sigmar.
I think Wolkmar should in stir land so he could fight the vamps
Patriotic doot
Ew peasents!
Holy shit, the people of Stirland remaind me so much of japanese people.
Other province are still better than Stirland!
NULN. Not Nul-in
go away
He has trouble with consonant clusters. Always says Kazerak too
