This was the first lego set that I ever got!
Awesome! A perfect first set! 😎👍
6:22 Pirates to their rescuers, after being asked why they were both in that small boat together: "It's not what you're thinking..." 😓
😂
Aw their embarrassed of their love:)
aww
Oh man, that old baseplate reminded me of all the ones I have... I really love the printing on this one, just 1 piece for both the sea, sand and grass - brilliant! It really is a joy to see you review all these lovely old sets :)
I really miss the inclusion of baseplates in sets today (other than in modulars), because I think they give a set more presence, and make adding your own flourishes a snap.
I dont have any LEGO now but im loving your videos, these sets are very nostalgic to me. You deserve a lot more subscriptions
Thanks so much, I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying them! And you should try to get some Lego ASAP! 😄 Thanks for watching!
@@TrikBrix Yea totally, im thinking about getting 42082 on my 30th birthdays that are in april
Nice! That would make for an excellent birthday! 😎👍
I must say Your LEGO reviews are amazing. Very detailed, very well presented. With passion and knowledge.
my dad had this set i saw the base plate in a box and ive searched for the set for an hour and hope i can create the set again
small, I like it. Wish LEGO did some sets that looked like this. a little baseplate and a little scene.
Me too... even more, I just wish they’d just bring back Pirates!
Pirates theme is a true classic, and I have to say for a small set, this had a lot of play potential. Today I went to an outdoor flea market and snagged some minifigures. A Blacktron fig and a M Tron figure,he might have some sets next time!
Nice, that’s awesome! And I agree - pirates is one of the best themes Lego ever came up with, and it’s become my personal favorite. (But just slightly ahead of Adventurers, lol).
Had this set as a kid, played so much with it.
A really great small set! The print on the baseplate is gorgeous. I really miss the baseplates - printed and molded! I like your little modification - good thinking! Oh, I never knew that there were non-shooting cannons!? Interesting! Thanks for sharing this and keep up the good work - a great and very well produced series :-)
Thanks, Brick Bakery! I miss all the baseplates, too... and yeah, I’m not sure about other countries, but here in the USA we without shooting cannons for about two decades. 😕
Thanks again for watching, and for the kind words! 😎👍
TrikBrix i think all canons were shootable in Denmark!!
Wow I got excited to see this video in my feed! Loving your content, as a Lego fan myself I get excited to see others enjoy sets, particularly older ones I never got to have as a child and others released before I was born. Great work.
Thanks, Frankie G! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😎👍
Another fantastic video, can’t wait to see more!
Thanks, Steven! 😎👍
Excellent review
I wish Lego would bring back some of their old original themes and they should do Racers All-Stars with pairings of classic characters going up against each other Microfighters style.
Oh! Don't want to believe that this very old set comes with blocked open stud type of minifig heads!
Nice Review!
Very nice!
This set is awesome
You’re channel is growing 👌🏽👍
I know, it’s exciting! 😎👍
I realy love old pirates and this set i do have along with the raft and the comic book
I really like this Set but I have one question where's the shipwreck😂
Haha, I think the idea is that these guys were shipwrecked and swam to this little island. Could be wrong, but that’s always been my interpretation of the situation. 😎👍
As always... Great review!
As I understand you do not have a box or instructions for this set? It would be interesting to see the back of the box with options for construction. Even the boxes themselves in this series are a work of art, with all these pirated maps and marks.
Thank you! No, unfortunately I don’t have the box or instructions for this one, but I agree with you - they were always beautifully designed!
You get an Island, a Cannon, a monkey, a palm tree, a parrot, treasure.... Amazing value.
I know, right? And don’t forget that sweet island baseplate! 😎👍
Hehehe, yes.
Sentimental journey. It was my first set I ever had.
From the "pirates" series, I would also like to see sets: 6270 (Forbidden Island) & 6276 (Eldorado Fortress)
Nice! And I’m hoping to get the Forbidden Island video up this weekend, so stay tuned! Thanks for watching! 😎👍
Awesome video! What music did you use?
I love the play value of this set!
Me too! It’s a great little addition! 😊👍
I wish I culd go back and admire the sets that sat on the shelves in the store when I had a bit of cash my mind ran wild didint know What to buy lol kinda unfair Pirates and Castle was released at the same time there was so many classic sets i miss the old times they need to do an anaversery releasing the old sets again
Wow
I don't know why there's two versions of this baseplate, grey and blue plastic. I have the 6260 and 6265 (brazilian version) and both have the blue one.
I’m not sure why, either; I have two copies (both from the US, I think), and one is gray while the other is blue. Seems like blue would’ve been the least expensive for them to produce, so maybe they changed from gray in the middle of production.
Lovely stuff. Can't wait for next episode.
By the way, several of these Pirate minifigs were given names in some tie-in comics released by Ladybird Books. Aside from Captain Roger Redbeard:
- Rummy is the pirates' first mate, with the blue jacket, eyepatch and tricorne.
- The pirate with the mustache, headscarf and tank top is called "Flashfork" in the comics, but was also dubbed "Garcia" by ClassicPirates.com, mostly because he resembles Sergeant Garcia from the old Zorro TV series.
- Bo'sun Will is the younger member of the pirates seen in Lagoon Lock-Up, with the red outfit and headscarf and classic smiley face.
- The monkey is referred to as Spinoza in the comics, and Captain Redbeard's parrot is called Popsy.
- The pirate wench often seen in these sets is most likely the basis for Bessie in the comics.
As for the Imperial soldiers:
- Governor Broadside is the leader, with the plumed bicorne and elaborate coat.
- Governor Broadside's second-in-command is Lieutenant de Martinet, seen with the red beard and tricorne.
Wow, thanks for all the info, Captain! This will definitely be helpful in future episodes! And thanks so much for watching - I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos! 😎👍
When we gonna see 6277?
I never understood the use of that 3 studs grey corner brick...
Same here! I had to do a double take with the instructions just to make sure I hadn’t missed something... I guess that was their way of making it look more organic...? 🤔
@@TrikBrix Yeah could be. Just always found it weird the way it sticks out there.
Im getting it for 14 dollars with 2 dollars shipping complete without instruction and without box :P
Awesome! This is a great little set - I’m sure you’ll love it! 😎👍
