I live in a climate that’s too warm to ever need a cowl, but my sister just moved to Colorado and they have already had snow this season. I think I’ll buy the pattern and make it for her. She is a physician and will appreciate the charity you picked.
I just moved away from CO, but I lived there for 6 years. She'll love having the cowl. It gets very cold! 😁
I just bought the cowl pattern. Very touched by the theme of the charity. I experienced birth trauma and work in a birth trauma psychology service. Such a good cause.
I love this new cabled sweater!!! I’ve been looking for this classic pattern. Also, the fistula issue is heartbreaking. I’ve known a doctor who has done these surgeries on young girls. Who were too tiny to pass their babies. Thank you for understanding this issue and creating an opportunity for education and change.🙏🙏🙏💗💗
You’re so sweet I love the donation to women in need. It’s so tragic such a simple procedure could change a woman’s life and there’s no access. You’re an Angel ❤
Rebecca, you are a wonderful human being. Thank you for being you!
Just purchased the pattern. I had been debating whether I wanted to knit this cowl and knowing that the sales from the pattern are going to charity confirmed that I will be making it! Perfect Christmas gift knitting, Thank you.
Just bought the cowl - so nice what you're doing! I'm not a cowl knitter buuuut it's such a beautiful stitch I can't wait to learn it!
I just love you! I have no idea when I’ll get around to knitting the cowl but I’m rushing right over to buy the pattern. I spent 5$cad in a big black Americano yesterday…about 3£, so not even a fancy coffee. My wish for the day is that you far surpass your charitable goal. As usual beautiful knits.
Ty Rebecca and I’ve purchased a pattern and so impressed that you definitely seem to be as excited ( if not more so 😃) about your charity as you are about your lovely sweater and cowl pattern and that warmed my heart 😃👏🏼🥰🧶☮️
Made my purchase of the cowl. I think it will be a great gift for my sister-in-law. Thank you for you generously donating your proceeds
great gift donation idea . Just bought the cowl pattern . I am not long back from Italy .... out and returned through Amsterdam took my knitting and spare needles in carry on no issues at all . I do take wooden ones rather than my usual metal ones . Have a great trip and look forward to the next update . Kerrie
What a fabulous initiative Rebecca! It’s a fabulous charity that I have followed for quite a while and I will be happy to buy a pattern for the cause ❤
Oh, I love the little version of the Cargill sweater. I'm looking forward for the release date so I can knit one for my 2y old girl ❤ I think I'll try the cowl before. Such a lovely idea 🥰
So nice you are coming to the Netherlands! I live in Rotterdam, and I am on the lookout to see someone in a black mohair sweater with a red head. That has to be you!
Enjoy your stay!
Oh I am am so happy to support fistula surgery! Thank you for providing us all an opportunity to help.
Your Cargill Cowl is lovely and your generosity to donate all of the proceeds to such a worthwhile charity is so wonderful. Just purchased it and it’s in my library. Thank you, Rebecca!
The charity pattern idea is really lovely. This attitude and approach is one of the reasons I love your channel!
Thank you for explaining that charity. I purchased your sweater patter and didn't feel the need to purchase the cowl but having you explain it has absolutely changed my mind. I'm going to purchase now. :) thanks.
It was so nice to sit down and watch this with some knitting and a hot drink. It's really lovely to see you using your platform to champion a worthy cause, I hope you sell loads of the pattern! and I reckon the stich pattern makes a really nice cowl. I get what you meant about designing the Dornie because you couldn't find the right pattern, I have the image of my perfect simple cable vest in my mind but I just can't find a pattern for it, so I think I'm gonna have to make it myself. Fortunately I also can't find the yarn I'm invisioning for the vest, so I have time to figure out the pattern 😆
I love the pic of you and your boyfriend! So cute. Great idea to make the cowl a charitable donation, I have purchased x
The baby cargill sweater is too cute 😍 love it ❤ Also that charity sounds amazing! What incredible work they do. Thank you for sharing all about them.
Cargill Cowl purchased. Thank you for leveraging your platform for a wonderful cause.
Lovely episode! I applaud you for your choice of the fistula foundation as a charity to support. It’s such a simple way to dramatically change women’s lives for the better. I’m buying the cowl pattern right now! I also love your all over cable sweater that’s in design. Nice work!🥰
Rebecca, will wait for the cable sweater pattern to come out. It is stunning. Went to sign up for test knitter on Cargill Jr., but was closed. Looking forward to it's release, have a 6 year old niece that would look adorable in. I have knitted something for her every Christmas since she was born, It may not be for this year, but definitely for next year.. Looking forward to the next update.
Went and bought the pattern. Love the Cargill jumper but it’s not cold enough here but I can definitely wear the cowl and I love your plan to donate to such a great cause. Congratulations. 🥳🥳🥰
Congratulations on your pattern releases. I’m definitely going to purchase the Cowl . That is a great organization to donate to. So generous of you also. We should all be in that lane. Your life is so busy it’s so fun to have a young person remotely in my life. Have fun stay safe. I eagerly await your next episode.
The Dornie sweater is gorgeous and the colour is perfect for autumn. Cables really seem to be having a moment in the sun. I'm obsessed with Tin Can knits new collection Lazy Sunday and have made a number of the items. Look forward to purchasing and making the Dornie.
I'm thinking I'll knit the cowl for a sweater swatch. I love your cable sweater, I see that in my future knits. The color you knit yours in is perfect for you!
Ok… finally found the time to finish watching the episode. Omg, love, love , LOVE the Dorny sweater. SO classic, but SO cool. After having decided to “only” purchase the Cargill cowl because I was worried an entire sweater would be too much for me, I now feel compelled to knit all those cables. Very relived the pattern is not out yet, as that gives me time to free up some needles! I am so impressed that you design these beauties on the side!!
Darn it Rebecca, I haven't even cast on my Cargill yet and here you have ANOTHER sweater pattern coming that I want to knit.
I've just bought the cowl pattern and posted it on my IG..a great cause Rebecca, well done. Xx
Great to catch up again!, travel safely.
My mom was a labour and delivery nurse for 47 years. She just retired last week! A very worthy cause, and will definitely be purchasing 👍
Just bought your lovely cowl pattern, a truly worthy cause.
I am a student midwife, so totally resonate with the charity you chose. I'll will be buying the pattern. Loving knitting up the Cargill sweater atm. I can't put it down. Just the sleeves to go
I can’t wait to cast on this lovely cowl pattern from such a lovely soul. I have just the perfect yarn, and my daughter who lives in New England will appreciate it.
Hi Rebecca! I love your charity idea! And also, people are soooo rude! I can’t believe anyone would say anything about what you knit, given that they can just choose not to watch. Ugh. Don’t listen to nay sayers! You’re perfect and everything you knit and design is soooooo incredible! Ok I’ll stop now 😂
Agree. Perfect!
The subtitles are amazing 😂😂
Awesome way to help women in need. I just purchased the pattern in support to this wonderful cause. God blessed you!
The resolution of your videos it’s really nice.
I'm enjoying the cowl! I find I just have to stop and squish it sometimes. I'm knitting it for a shop sample for my LYS. I'm hopeful it catches on like wildfire for your November cause!
Ofcourse I bought the pattern! So great you are doing this. Just yesterday somebody’s helped my out with some money (small amount) because I didn’t had cash and they didn’t accept my card! So, so nice of them, so I’m paying it forward.
I really don’t need another cowl but that charity is so important and so wonderful. Cowl pattern: bought
your fund raising generosity is amazing. Definitely buying the pattern. Thank you
I think it’s wonderful that you’re donating the Cargill Cowl pattern proceeds for the month of November. I bought mine this morning! I love your Dornie cabled sweater. I must learn how to do cables! It’s such a clean beautiful pattern. Maybe that’s not the right words but it’s just perfect to me. The Cargill Junior sweater….oh my goodness! I’m planning to make one for my niece!!! I’m excited for you to put yours away for a future family❤️.
I just downloaded the cowl pattern. Thank you for your generosity for giving the proceeds to charity. ❤
One option for yarn for your Dornie sweater might be Illimani Amellie yarn? Its a blown yarn that is incredibly soft and fluffy. It comes in at about $18 US a skien for 176yrds. It's not budget exactly but its a luxurious option that would still be lower cost that buying a worsted and a mohair? It knits up at around an aran.
I hope you have a wonderful time in Amsterdam! I cast on my first ever sock today but I spend this podcast working on a massive throw blanket I'm knitting up.
I’m knitting on your Cargill Cowl while I’m watching 😂 unintentionally happened. Purchased and cast on so fast.
I actually came by in the comments to say the cloudbow construction is so much easier than it seems, I was intimidated and it is by far the easiest garment iv ever made. I’m on my 3rd, waiting to cast on my 4th ❤
Also also, I’d love to try Woolyknits Aran, I just wondered if it might be a good budget yarn for your next sample… though I’m aware you love of woolyknit may mean you have already pondered this particular option.
Hope your keeping well and thankyou so much to you and your test knitters for the cowl pattern ❤ what a wonderful idea xx
I might make the Dornie in Drops Air - there is a good yardage per 50 grams and flexible on gauge. Can't wait for the release.
Great cause- I bought the pattern. I figured I'd could use it to practice the stitch and swatch. Good of you! All the best, Kimberly
Thank you for your generosity to this charity, Rebecca. I've downloaded the pattern and added it to my Christmas gift knitting (although it might just be a gift to myself!) I learned about this issue a few years back when I read Abraham Verghese's novel "Cutting for Stone" ...have a look if you haven't read it already.
I had never heard of this book before and someone at Knit Night last night brought it up too! Think I'll have to read it.
You are a remarkable young woman! I love your podcast and would like to have every s2eater you make in my wardrobe. Your style is practical and classy. I will purchase the cargill cowl. The Fistula Foundation was unknown to me but will buy more than one pattern and share it with my daughter. You remind me so much of her.
Thank you Rebecca for the great episode. I have added the Cargill cowl to my wish list on Ravelry and I will buy it next month. I was working on the Grown up socks by Verily Knits for my nephew and the Sunday Brunch sweater by Kika.
I just love watching you! Love the cargill junior and I hope I can test knit. It’ll be perfect for some charity knitting as well as my grandkid! Thank you for supporting this charity! Buying the cowl as I know whom it’ll be for!
I applied for the test so fast 😅❤ l did email you about it too after the last podcast :)))
Thank you so much for highlighting the plight of women around the world with obstetric fistulas. As you say this causes incontinence and the women are ostracised by their community.
I just wanted to clarify that this is damage cause by childbirth due to lack of maternity care and causes double incontinence of both urine and faeces. These women do not have access to proper incontinence wear so constantly smell of excrement. An awful life sentence, without the complex surgery provided by this charity.
Thank you again.
Hi, after listening to you about the cowl pattern and the charity it will support I just had to buy it! Thank you and can’t wait to knit it. 😘😘😘👍
The baby Cargill is everything 🥰! Purchased the cowl. ❤️ Wonderful cause.
Great 🎉 so glad your doing a charity just got the pattern I also got the cargill 😊
Oh I’m so happy for another episode I’ve been missing you and wow does your cowl looks so precious with your sweater beautiful beautiful beautiful sending you big hugs
Hi Rebecca, I hope you had a great weekend with your friends. Are any of them knitters? My husband gave me a loom for my birthday this year. I really like the weaving process. It’s very relaxing and of course, more yarn. Can’t wait until the Dornie release. Such a beautiful sweater.
I like you pattern classic choices. An extra bonus you're an experienced seamstress!
You both looked amazing in your wedding outfits. I do love your style! X
Oh I am cracking up about the cargirl Junior it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen oh my goodness❤❤❤❤❤
So excited about your test call, have several kids and babies to be born in mind to knit this for. I hope I’ll get in ❤. And this cowl, I was sure to buy it already before you talked about the charity, but this makes it even better 😊. You are so great
Leuk dat je Nederlands praat ! 🎶 Een fantastisch idee om samen een goed doel te kunnen steunen. Dank je wel. ☘️ Have enjoyed your podcast so much. Have a nice trip to the Netherlands. 🦋
Loved the podcast! I bought the cowl pattern and love that the proceeds are going to a worthy charity! I’m currently knitting a Semper sweater for myself and love the pattern! I’m still waiting for my mohair to arrive to start my Cargill sweater!
I'm glad it's not just me, unless the pattern reaaaally demands a specific cast on and off for a very good reason I always use a german twisted/old norwegian cast on and an icelandic bind off. I like the way they look, they are stretchy enough, and nothing has ever been that much better that it was worth all the extra effort!
Love this cowl and hearing more about this charity. I am sure you will hit your 600 by the end of the week judging by the numbers of purchased patterns in the comments in the first 16 hours.
I have only made two sweaters but I am in love with your new sweater!
Hi Rebecca, I love your videos (including the rambling) and your knits are very inspiring. Is it possible for you to show the ribbing at the bottom of your sweaters? I think it is so important and it will either make or break a sweater. Do you have any tips for knitting the perfect ribbing? Which bind off do you like to use? Thank you and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend because you are a very hard worker!
You look so good in that silvery gray color of your No Frills!
You should do a sewing video sometime! I started sewing last year and I’m terrible, but I’d love some inspiration to get better!
Heel veel plezier in Amsterdam dit weekend 🎉 ik heb je nieuwe cowl patron gekocht want het is een lief gebaar voor een geweldig goed doel 😊
Amazing initiative, Rebecca! 💙
Oh now I want to make the cabled sweater in navy....
Jessie Maed's original DK weight Cozy Classic Raglan pattern has a really great tight neckline. I wonder what's different in the construction of the Cozy Classic Light 🤔
Purchased both patterns. Beautiful.
Basic Raglan by Joji Locatelli have knit four make sure you use pure wool on the neck ribbing and do a couple of extra rows and the neck will be perfect - also I changed the sleeve decreases from every 8rows to - 2 at 8 - 4 at every six rows then every fourth row till you reach the wrist size and its perfect for me. cannot stand my sleeves to long and dangling in the dish water lol.
Love the new cable sweater. Just about the budget v bouji - I think (completely personal opinion) that a budget knit should cost max of £30.
Dear Rebecca, you expressed yourself regarding the foundation and your plans to donate beautifully. Thank you so much, both for the lovely pattern and enabling us to be a part of the donations. I’m actually wondering if you might get more then 600 dollars worth of purchases…. I can easily see you selling more than 200x. Please keep us updated!
Gorgeous cable sweater wow you have some talent girl and I suggest dark dark green you would look so beautiful and green but really dark forest green
Loved the sweater, love the charity you’re supporting as well! Did you end up making the Lento sweater? I just finished it before going to Rhinebeck and I think it’s a sweater right up your alley! The fit is glorious and I love it so much! Safe travels to the Netherlands! ClaudiaSJI
Ek hoop jou naweek was heel leuk.
Mijn Moeder en haar familie heb in Amsterdam geblyft.
Your Cargill cowl is lovely and I want to purchase 3 patterns 2 as gifts 🎁.
What a wonderful Charity. Your new Cable Sweater is spot on and the Junior Cargill is so precious. Enjoy the week
Woo hoo booty cowl!🤣 OMG, I just got some undyed 50/50 mohair/wool worsted weight yarn that will be perfect for the Dornie💗
I worked it out ,finally😊
Buy cowl pattern, check ☑️. I’m a retired maternity RN, thank you for choosing this charity. 🎃
I love the cowl, will you still release the fingerless glove pattern as well ?
Please add a gift option to the purchase of the original Cowl pattern On Ravelry and also to the pattern once it is in the Ravelry library of the original purchaser . I want to gift it and there is no way to do it. Thank you so much
I want to test that Jr Cargill - for my 2 year old….awe!!!!
Oops 2 year old grandson that is..phew that scared me..haha
❤ oo am I the first 😊
We were in Amsterdam in the spring and my bag got flagged to security. The woman took one look at the photo rolled her eyes and handed it straight back to me and said that the guys were idiots and it was obviously my knitting. 😂
Have your heard from RuthLovesToKnit? I just wondered how she's doing.
Wat een heerlijk filmpje weer Rebecca! Jij breit zooooo snel!
You have such a lovely soul, Rebecca! You are beautiful inside and out. I've already purchased the Cargill Cowl, your generosity is outstanding. I hope you have the best time on all your adventures.
Make the neck higher
If you need a test knitter i am available
Add a wastebasket to it.
Tried to send pattern as gifts to people, but ravelry is not user friendly, sorry.
As a midwife I really love, that you are supporting this special foundation and I‘m more than happy to participate in this 🙏 have to look for 🧶…
