Loving the Let's Lento KAL. I've finished my first one in hand-dyed merino and suri. Now I've cast on my second one in local NZ commercial merino and a wool/mohair as a gift for my sister. I have 3 others planned 😆
Been watching your ALL your back episodes while I binge knit on my summer holidays. I'm having the best time. I have 2 episodes to go till I'm all caught up and I have no idea what I'm going to do without you to keep my company. 🩷

Rebecca, try knitting with one strand of Holst supersoft and one strand of Holst Titicaca. It creates a really nice fabric and I think it's much nicer to knit than Supersoft on its own.

Crazy knitting with mohair in Melbourne in January as it’s hot here! However I’m loving knitting it and want it done. Possibly I’ll do a bright pink one too from stash also. I agree with you about the Holst unwashed. I have some cones and have been unwinding them and making skeins and prewashing them. This shrinks it and gets that yucky feel out of it, but it is a lot of work.

  • @MakingLemonadeFromLemons

I didn't initially like knitting with Holst Supersoft prior to blocking, but after knitting a Ranunculus, an Anker's Sweater Boyfriend and a DRK Everyday Sweater, I found that I don't really notice the toothieness of it as much now. I really like that so far it doesn't pill too much as I have noticed some softer wools do. You could also try knitting it with mohair or suri alpaca to make it not so rustic

I cast off sleeve one and picked up for sleeve two of my Let’s Lento while watching your vlog today. I am loving it. I keep petting the fabric- like petting a kitten- a very black kitten in alpaca and an alpaca merino blend. I like the blue mesh cardi- the colour is lovely. I live in the interior of BC Canada where summer is HOT so summer knits are ridiculously warm here. A mesh cardi in a cotton blend might be wearable on the cooler days. I started perusing knit picks new cotton fluffy Aran yarn as you were showing the new cable sweater- naughty, naughty- I am supposed to be knitting from stash- you are a bad influence- especially showing that amazing January advent- such a great idea- who has time to indulge in an advent during advent- definitely wasted on me in December, but JANUARY- a fresh new year, full of hopes and dreams……congrats on the submission for a publication and condolences on the one you missed. I knit the Cargill Cowl in December while recuperating from COVID and it is lovely, the pattern repeat is very addictive. 💕🇨🇦🙌

    @sewalways9331 Před rokem

I’m enjoying your podcast very much. I’m watching from the US, West Coast.
It’s so interesting for me to listen to and watch podcasts from other parts of the
world. Of course, our common language is knitting and crocheting. (Love the
beautiful blue sweater and pattern to come. So excited to see the pattern and make
    it.)
But anyway, what I wanted to share are constructive criticisms and personal observations
I experience as I view your podcasts. Firstly, your beautiful accent is so lovely to listen to.
To me, however, it’s a challenge because it’s not my normal. So, I am getting my ear and brain
used to the sound. Progressing well. The other challenge is your speaking speed and
rhythm. This is different for all languages I believe. I find it very fast. So my brain is trying to
understand the accent, understand what you’re saying even if I miss a few words in between
others. Long story short……I am learning way more than knitting techniques, patterns, info
on yarn, etc. I am also learning about your culture. Even though we both are speaking/listening
to English, a mutually common language, I am loving discovering the differences and sameness.
    Awesome!

I speak very quickly, you're completely right! I do try to slow down but sometimes I get carried away.
A tip from me is that in the bottom corner of the video there's a settings button, you can actually slow me down to 80-90% and I still sound normal, just a bit slower!

Yes, the Lanark! I'm so excited for it, mostly because then I can wear my sample every day and not "save it" for the photos

Literally just look at Jacobs yarn for socks - Apparently jacobs is brilliant for socks because it’s so hard wearing!

I feel the same about Holst. I bought it once, fabric is lovely but I hate knitting with it, so much spinning oil in it... it's not nice to touch, smells bad and it's rough for the skin when you knit it. I remember Maria from Stitched in Sweden washed it before knitting with it but to me it looks like too much trouble... but if I had 4 cones I guess that's what I will do :) because indeed, the result is super nice!! And they have beautiful colours

Yes! I totally agree. I've worked with it before in other colours and not had such a problem so I might try washing up the beige first and decide if it makes a big difference

I feel the same way about Holst Supersoft. I knit a cardigan holding it with mohair and of course that felt nice to knit with and worked out great but then when I went to hold two strands double...I couldn't do it. I knit with a lot of rustic wool, so that's not the problem I think it's the spinning oil that is bugging me. If you do end up washing it before knitting...do share here! I might have to do the same.

A lot of people have mentioned washing it first and it seems like a bit of extra work but I think I'll give it a go!

I don't suppose those 5.5 needles are hiding in that project bag that you had not yet tidied up? Or would that be too easy? At least now you'll have a back up pair or you can cast on another project that also needs those needles! Why not make the summer cardi! See how it looks. I live in a hot and humid climate for most of the year but always need something to throw on your shoulders for air conditioning and/or the evenings or at the beach when you come off the beach. Someone who I know has used a lot of Purl Soho is Stephanie who is Edible.Thoughts.Makes on CZcams and Instagram--she may have the "wear" experience with their yarns. Her podcasts and posts are great anyway!

Unfortunately not! I almost never used my fixed circulars so they're all together and this one wasn't in that place! But I've got a replacement set now so they'll no doubt show up soon.
I think the cardi will be perfect for warmer climates! The first version is in wool but I'm planing a cotton version too so that it suits as many climates as possible

Yes!I have the sony ZV-1. I did a good bit of research and this was the right combination for me and it's one of the less expensive "vlogging" cameras on the marker. I just use it with a joby tripod.
