Wizards and Warriors new animated fantasy documentary lore video will talk about the world of Wheel of Time created by the late Robert Jordan in a series concluded by Brandon Sanderson. In the first episode we will talk about the Second Age, the age of Legends, when the humanity reached the peak of its potential through the One Power of the Creator under the leadership of the Aes Sedai, and how the hubris and greed of some allowed the Dark One - Shai'tan to enter the world to corrupt it, leading to the War of Power. The Light is led by Lews Therin Telamon, the "Dragon" and his attack on the Dark One leads to the Breaking of the World ( • How the Men Broke the ... ). In the aftermath of the breaking, the Aes Sedai rise to power and the humanity starts to slowly rebuild itself, until Ishamael attacks again, leading to the century-long Trolloc Wars. ( • Trolloc Wars - Wheel o... ). In the aftermath, a number of False Dragons appeared, only to be promptly defeated. One of them was crushed by Artur Hawkwing Paendrag, who become the greatest conqueror of the Westlands, Alexander of that era ( • Rise of Artur Hawkwing... ). With his death, his empire collapsed, leading to the founding of most of modern states. One of them- Cairhien was led by king Laman Damodred at a later date and his pride and sin led to the Aiel invasion and Aiel war, which, in turn, led to the birth of the Dragon ( • The Aiel War - Birth o... ). The Dragon Reborn returned and with that the world gained hope to survive the incoming Last Battle - Tarmon Gai'don. Moiraine Damodred and Lan Mandragoran were looking for him and found him in the Two Rivers region - a shepherd Rand al'Thor. Together with his friends Mat Cauthon, Perrin Aybara, Egwene Al'vere, Nynaeve Al'meara, they went to the Eye of the World, seemingly to fight the Dark One, leading to the battle of Tarwin's Gap ( • The Dragon Reborn Retu... ). The march of the dragon continued with the battles of Falme, where he fought the Seanchan invaders and the stone of Tear , which he conquered with the help of the Aiel.

Please do a Henry V survives series!
So when is the Fraggle Rock lore video coming out?
When will the new episode of mongol invasion of europe be uploaded???????????
They should have hired you to do the show. As someone who started this series as a teenager, and I'm in my early 40s now, thank you for adding this series to your lore videos. It will be many hours of entertainment. I'll go join your channel later, when I'm not playing D2 :)
Black One, Bronze Ajah, Illustrious Chapter House - small mistakes, but annoying; what is your research source? Bad translation from another language? Rand's heron-mark sword is one of the most iconic items in the series, there is plenty of online artwork per its description, a curved sword, maybe a katana, definitely not an European longsword.
- The Whitecloak legion was destroyed by the Seanchan damane, not by Mat blowing the Horn.
- Moiraine instructed the Shienarans to go to Ghealdan, as they needed to move quickly to catch up to Rand, and she didn't have a use for them. It was there that Masema turned religious prophet.
- Gaul is not leader of the Stone Dogs.
Weird way to separate the storylines of the main characters.
Ya they absolutely butcher this story every video
I bet they probably ai generate a synopsis then use a paraphrase tool or something. Only way I can think of cause they have consistently made weird naming mistakes that in all honesty aren’t possible to make with even a little research.
"Rand's heron-mark sword is one of the most iconic items in the series, there is plenty of online artwork per its description, a curved sword, maybe a katana, definitely not an European longsword". Honestly, I get the feeling they're using ai generated artwork in these videos, so it's probably that the generator made a european sword rather than a katana looking blade.
@gamerman782 lol the character depictions in the little portrait at the beginning are litterally the same image just slightly altered. Perrin and Mat are just mirrors and rand just has different color hair
Yeah, I strongly suspect that these videos are mostly AI-generated--scripts, voice, and artwork.
Lews Therin NEVER used Calindor. It was creating with in the first humdred or so years into the breaking, which was a hundred years after he committed suicide.
This is what I meant upthread when I asked if the videos are partially AI-generated. The narrator also called the Brown Ajah the "Bronze Ajah".
@Auchand Yeah, its definitely AI generated something or other. I've heard the same voice in random clips and videos. It's too stilted, it's just a rendering of the original guys voice. Cause I swear it used to be a regular dude who spoke with that same voice. I don't know the technology but I also think it's AI generated the whole script. Like he typed in wheel of time summary pages whatever to whatever. And then let the AI gather all the info and put it together. Like Shadow friend and the Black One? There's other examples but, like how did that happen. I get the AI pronouncing names and places funny. But how are entire words and phrases from the book getting messed up like that?
@@alexcavoli6191 I use ChatGPT for a lot of fantasy-related stuff and it really does throw in some bonkers info once in a while.
That's not true. It is never established that Lews Therin used Callandor. And personally I think he would have preferred to use D'jedt/Sakarnen given the choice. But Callandor was constructed during the War of Power, not the Breaking, and therefore it is possible Lews wielded Callandor.
This isn't true. I don't think LTT ever used Calandor, but the sword was there during the War of Power. It even makes an appearance in the Aiel flash backs Rand experiences.
(Near-comprehensive list of issues below)
While the core lore and story are well presented, this video is absolutely riddled with inaccuracies, falsehoods, and (accidentally) misleading statements (not to mention numerous minor terminology mistakes). I absolutely LOVED the description of Mat entering the Caemlyn palace in "Rand style" and laughed out loud at that. And the animation is great as always.
But here are the most noteworthy items in need of correction:
2:50 Nitpick: the wording of the first couple minutes makes it seem like Mat and Perrin's estrangement from Rand occurred over the course of their time at Fal Dara, but it didn't really start until the last day or so. Also, the Shienarans thought Rand was a lord/prince, not a king.
2:57 It's *the* Two Rivers, much like "the Gambia" or "the Amazon". One would never say "In Two Rivers, blah blah blah". Also, just to add to the statement about 'al', it technically meant 'son of' but that's an archaic meaning and the Two Rivers folk don't actually think of it that way. To them, it's just a common prefix at the beginning of surnames, in much the same way that 'son' is a common suffix to us (as in 'Johnson', 'Peterson', etc.) but doesn't truly mean 'son of' anymore.
3:01 An English nitpick unrelated to WoT lore: "One Nynaeve" is very strange wording. Perhaps there is a language barrier here: in English, we'd only say "one " when the person in question is unfamiliar to the speaker/writer/reader/listener. It's really odd to use that phrasing when referring to a character that's already been mentioned many times in this video series.
3:25 "Sorceress" is not a term anyone would use in-universe. And there is no Bronze Ajah. Verin is Brown Ajah.
4:49 Ingtar was in command, NOT Rand. Rand was Ingtar's second, not the other way around.
5:32 "Ogier explained" implies the presence of multiple Ogier. To merely describe Loial explaining something, you'd say "the Ogier explained."
5:43 Rand thinks he's the one who transported them to the Portal Stone world, but imho it's far more likely that Lanfear did so.
5:50 It's Artur Hawkwing, *not* 'Arthur'.
6:34 The animation here implies that Mat and Perrin were with Rand as he arrived in Cairhien, but they were still days behind, with Ingtar and the other Shienarans (and Verin at some point).
6:42 "King Cairhien" is not how anyone in-universe would refer to Galldrian. He'd be called the "King of Cairhien".
6:51 While it's technically true that Galldrian and Barthanes were trying to get the "Dragon Reborn's" attention, this is a very misleading phrasing, because no one in Cairhien except Fain (and Verin and Selene when they were present) knew that he was the Dragon Reborn. Even Rand didn't *know*, as he was still in denial. Mat and Perrin similarly did not believe yet, and no one else except maybe Thom even suspected. At this point, Galldrian and Barthanes were simply trying to meet this man who to them was an enigmatic Andoran lord.
6:56 I suppose the fireworks complex was indeed an "illustrious" chapter house, but given that the captions correct this to "Illuminator's" I'm guessing this wording was an accidental mistake.
6:58 This is incorrect. Rand met Thom *before* encountering the Trollocs. That's why Loial was with him - after meeting Thom, he returned to his inn and brought Loial to meet Thom. Even this second meeting occurred BEFORE Loial and Rand were pursued by Trollocs and fled into the Illuminators' compound.
7:03 This is also incorrect. Rand discovered the Horn had been retaken by Fain when he returned to his inn after escaping the Illuminators' compound, not while he was with Thom.
7:42 Nitpick: "being Darkfriend himself" is grammatically incorrect. It should be "being a Darkfriend himself".
7:50 Again, "the Roads" is not some alternate name for the Ways. They are only ever called the Ways.
8:01 Nitpicks: It would be "a nearby Stedding", not "nearby Stedding". Also, I get that the animation is just simplifying things, but it implies they traveled some distance to the west - even to Andor - to reach stedding Tsofu, but Tsofu is actually slightly to the east of the city of Cairhien.
8:17 "Losing four months to their normal journey" is an odd and misleading phrase. About four months passed during their Portal Stone transit, but obviously a normal journey would not have been four months quicker. They probably only lost a month or two.
8:50 Nitpick: The phrasing here is a bit confusing and kind of implies that Turak and the Seanchan were long-time rulers of Falme rather than recent conquerors.
9:25 Rand and company did not try to take Egwene with them. Rand saw Egwene and *wanted* to take her, but there was no opportunity to rescue her before Nynaeve and Elayne did so.
10:02 This is false. The Heroes of the Horn fought more or less on the same side of the Whitecloaks at Falme. They certainly didn't destroy them. It was the Seanchan (namely, the damane) that destroyed the Whitecloaks, not the Heroes.
10:25 Not a correction, but an elaboration: an uninitiated viewer may be confused by the wording, but the "injury" they're referring to is a stab wound in Rand's side from Ba'alzamon's blade; they're not redundantly referring to the heron brand again.
(more corrections in the first reply to this comment)
10:35 I'm not sure Rand did technically declare himself the Dragon Reborn at Falme. The Shienarans and others certainly named him so after witnessing him duel Ba'alzamon in the sky above Falme. The final sentence of Chapter 49 of The Great Hunt says "He made his decision." This might imply he proclaimed himself, but the early chapters of The Dragon Reborn are somewhat inconsistent with this, using phrases along the lines of "he allowed them to proclaim him" and such in Rand's POVs.
11:05 Again, you can't simply refer to Moiraine as "Blue Ajah". This wording implies that Rand is having disputes with the entire Blue Ajah, rather than a single member thereof.
11:06 Nitpick: This is technically incorrect. Rand's outburst with the One Power could certainly be considered a result of his arguments with Moiraine, but it was *not* during an argument. It occurred in the midst of a conversation with Perrin, with Moiraine (nor anyone else) nowhere in sight.
11:24 I'm not sure where this "believing he caused the deaths of all who traveled with him" came from. If you're saying he thought he killed Moiraine, Min, Perrin, etc. that's simply not true. If you're saying that he left them so they wouldn't be in danger by being with him, that is not established in the text even if one can't state that it's outright false (though it is certainly consistent with his character).
11:39 Nitpick: In English, "follow his lead" implies a degree of agreement or cooperation that certainly did not exist between Rand and Moiraine at this point. It would be more accurate to say that Moiraine decided to follow him.
11:44 This implies that Masema went off on his own of his own initiative. In fact, Moiraine sent all the Shienarans away. Masema only began his… ministry… after they discovered Moiraine's contact was deceased and they were left without a clear task/plan. The idea that the presence of wolves in the fight in the mountains was the reason for Masema deciding to become the prophet is frankly laughably false. Masema was already a fanatic. Seeing the wolves was just one relatively inconsequential confirmation of his fanatic beliefs.
11:58 This is incorrect. None of the Shienarans left the mountain camp with Moiraine, Lan, Perrin, and Loial.
12:03 Nitpick: This should say they found "an Aiel", not just "Aiel". As worded, it implies there were other Aiel caged with Gaul in Remen.
12:13 This is false. Gaul stated he was looking for He Who Comes With the Dawn, but he was not heading towards Tear until Perrin informed him that HWCWTD was heading there.
13:38 There was never any indication that Mat's Old Tongue outburst had anything to do with a previous life. Rather, it is attributed to the "Old Blood" "running strong" in the Two Rivers in general and Mat in particular. In other words, it's credited to his ancestry, not his former lives. Aside from Rand, the Heroes, and arguably Ishamael, there is never any reference to any particular previous lives of any particular characters. The idea that they concluded Mat was Aemon reborn is complete nonsense - I have no idea where this even comes from.
14:07 Thom was being a drunk, but he was not "wandering around"; he was performing in an inn.
14:14 As the captions reference, Mat was delivering the letter at Elayne's request. As it stands, the video seems to imply he just decided to give a letter to Morgase.
14:22 This is incorrect. There is no indication whatsoever that Tamuz and his cronies were Darkfriends. In fact, Rand's misadventures in the Cairhienen chapter house could be considered evidence that Tamuz is *not* a Darkfriend. Mat and Thom were attacked by Darkfriends (twice) en route to Caemlyn, but neither of these occurred in Aringill (though the attack on Aludra did). Also, technically Aludra no longer "belonged" to the Illuminators at this point.
14:31 While Mat discovering the scale of the destructive power of fireworks as an explosive was certainly accidental, it's shortchanging Mat a bit to say that he discovered "how they work" by accident. He learned a fair bit by (sloppy) experimentation.
15:02 The animation has Mat going in the wrong direction. He should be returning southeast to Aringill en route to Tear, not heading southwest towards Murandy. The longer you can put off depicting Mat as heading towards Altara, the better, lol.
15:25 Mat met several Aiel, not just Gaul and Rhuarc. Moreover, it is never established that Gaul leads the Stone Dogs. He might; that would explain why he in particular is with Rhuarc, but it is never established that Gaul holds any particular rank and aside from him telling Rhuarc "it's time" we never see him acting in any way like a commander or official leader throughout the series. He is instead depicted simply as a superlative warrior.
15:35 This is inaccurate. Mat met Juilin while meeting the Aiel, not afterwards.
15:51 The animation is misleading. Setting aside that Mat and Juilin were on top of a wall that ended at the side of the Stone (and were not on the ground as shown), Mat did not set off the fireworks like that. He packed them tightly into an arrowslit and inadvertently made them into a jury-rigged breaching charge.
16:13 Nitpick. The animation shows Rand holding a conventional sword (Callandor is visible in the background). He would have been using a sword made of solid flame conjured with the Power, not a physical sword, since Tam's sword was destroyed during his duel with Ba'alzamon at Falme. Also Tam's sword was not a longsword.
16:20 Super-nitpick. I'm not certain it is ever established that Lews Therin ever wielded Callandor. Given what we know of Lews Therin and Callandor, it seems likely he would have eschewed it if he had access to the sa'angreal that Demandred wields in AMOL. That said, it is very very possible that Lews Therin did use Callandor.
Nah
Yep, they keep on making tons of mistakes in these videos, they at least need to have a native english speaker comb through these for the grammar mishaps. Though I really wish they would have someone who had actually read the books edit and critique these videos, cause it's not like the mistakes are arcane knowledge, it's basic information any book reader should know.
You’re hired.

Me too, it's almost the show was so bad I need to be reminded the books weren't
I know right!
@@laggytim Seriously? Season 2 was fantastic.....much improved. I enjoyed it a lot.
its funny when I first started reading wheel of time I was late to the party, but the penultimate book had just been released in hardback by the time I was ready to read it (book 11, in case you were wondering). The last book was so large that Brandon Sanderson decided to do justice to all of the characters and include all the notes left behind by Robert Jordan that last book ended up being the final 3 books in the series. love this series.
I started reading it around that time too.🍻
*K&G* 👋👋
*Can We see the next installment of the Alternate History Videos*
Mat was not the last King of Manetheren and none of the Aes Sedai ever said he was Amon. That is just a theory.
Rand was second in command to Ingtar.
Love these videos but there is just enough mistakes that I question if you read the books or thoroughly researched the materials.
Ok. Way too many names and titles to remember. But I think I'm understanding the story.
Did Rand knew that internal affairs was setting him up?
You kinda need to read the books if you dont want to be that much lost with the names.
@@specialshot1457 Bro i read the books and i was lost with the names sometimes, if i took a month(s) between reading the books there were defently names and roles which i had forgotten
@@alexanderrose1556 Oh yeah, I was also sometimes lost with the names when reading the books.
I didnt mean any offense, just saying that reading the books will help greatly with the names.
@@alexanderrose1556 ADHD actually really helped me remember almost literally every name lol. I can imagine how hard it would be for some people.
Rand was sick of thinking about it. He knew everyone was trying to use him for their own gain.
Ahh the battle of Falme..I wonder if the Battle of Dumai Wells will get covered 😏
Looking forward to that episode
Yeah, no chance they arent going to do Dumais wells.
maybe not. the season is over and they were following the season. i don't think there would be more episodes here after this.

Wow, I used to like this channel, but W&W have fumbled this series SO HARD, it is a bummer to see. Advice to all creators, if you're going to use AI to generate content, at least confirm names/events/chronology...
yes.
Most of their other work has been really good, but this just seems rushed and badly put together. Hope they sort it out.
I really like that you are covering the books. But please don't rush it. There are so many names and I think for someone who didn't read the books it's difficult to understand what's going on.
Exactly! I haven't read the books at All ... Just loved Season One and I am hooked on the series now.
@@catherinemushaw1956 I'm sorry that I have to disappoint you, but the show is really far away from the books :(

The "illustrious" Chapter house? You mean the Illuminator's? This video series seems like it was written by an AI, there are so many weird errors.
There are so many tiny inaccuracies in this video
Great overview! I was curious how the show differed from the books.
a week passed and no new wheel of time video. i don't think we will see any new ones for the next 2 years..........
Moving to monthly episodes
the bronze ajah. factually wrong yet so much cooler
Amazing content!
I am enjoying this animated series of yours better than the T.V. Please keep going!
I get the feeling that they don't try as hard when it comes to these fantasy documentaries.
i think its all ai generated
Wait, did they mention reincarnation before this? Is this a karmic universe? I missed something.
Yes, it is. Everyone has past lives or at least the possibility to access memories of ancestors through the One Power and artifacts.
Some lives are 'bound to the wheel' so they get spun back out to the real world from time to time, often to repeat the same storyline. The Dragon is one such, as are the Heroes of the Horn. Ishamael thinks he is, but that may well be hubris.
Mat is somewhat different, but you just have to get used to that...
I don't recall if they've mentioned it before (though you can figure it out from the term Dragon Reborn) but it is a thing.
That said, they butchered it here when they connect it to Mat. There is no indication whatsoever that Mat is Aemon reincarnated. I have no idea where they even got this idea from. The scene in question merely shows that Mat is heavily influenced (in a quasi-supernatural way) by his ancestry. In-universe, this is referred to as "the old Blood" running/being "strong" in someone (especially the Two Rivers residents and most especially Mat).
The battle of Falme was done so well in the season 2 of the show pleasantly suprised!
I would’ve liked a more involved fight at the end but as a show-only I thought Mat blowing the horn was beautiful.
@@efrenyalung1348 New Mat actor defently got his moment to shine, which was beautiful in its own right because the last Mat actor quit mid filming season 1 and basicly fucked that ending up
I fight online with "Aes Sedai and Whitecloaks" (Show shills and show anti-shills) a lot but Falme in the show was a blatant corruption of what the book events were supposed to represent. It is evidence to what the Whitecloaks are saying about how the writers seem intent on making a joke out of everything we liked about the books and while I hate to agree with those groids, something something broken clocks. This must not go unpunished.
For once though, remember that autistically screeching "show bad" helps nothing. Have some subterfuge and strategic acumen ffs.
im gonna read the wheel of time soon. i only read the terry goodkind the ripoff writer
B.s. how turak died in the series I was expecting an awesome sword fight but know they totally changed it wtf
I kinda liked it. Don't fuck with the Dragon Reborn.
Rand had no training in sword fighting in the show. It wouldn't have made sense to have the duel.
Plus, I believe they're speeding up the "bleed-through" knowledge from Lews Therin.
✌️✌️
Do Malazan Book of the Fallen history and lore
I have to ask, are these scripts partially AI-generated? Most of these recaps are great, but every once in a while there's a blatantly wrong comment (calling the Dark One "the Black One") or a misused phrase that feels really weird. The Brown Ajah being referred to as the "Bronze Ajah" or Verin being called a sorceress also stands out.
I think so. AI generated with no proofreading
@@samanthaa.6055 agreed. What's funny is that even with all the mispronunciations, it says Tel'aran'rhiod perfectly 😆
I just finished watching season 2, and that show made me forget just how good the books are. The show is mediocre at best. Thanks to this video, I'll be re-reading the series.
I been waiting for this. Thank you
Hey guys this channel is doing great with all the fantasy and lore content! I was just wondering if you could give us an update on the Mongols invade Europe series? Thanks and as always excellent content from both your channels!
Yes!!! I want more of that so bad
I’m curious about references to “Blue Ajah” when I’m pretty sure you mean Moraine. Is that right? If so why use a reference to her Ajah to her in these contexts?
I think there are translation issues and this is derived from how a particular Aes Sedai is sometimes referred to as "a/the ". Though the inclusion of "Ajah" does seem like more than just a translation issue.
Damn, I can only read the books so fast, gonna have to start skipping episodes soon.
Black One?
I thoroughly enjoyed Season 2.
I immediately clicked on this!
You should do some videos on the terry goodkind series "the sword of truth"
Thanks very much for this video. So much of this book I had forgotten so the reminder is timely
will there be more episodes in the coming weeks? or is this it for the next two years?
Never trust a sorcerer, the aes sedai are evil.
Devin, are you playing with the AI voice again? This doesn't sound like you. If the AI is holding you prisoner, blink twice and we'll come break you out.
These videos are better than the Series.
Great video!⚔🔥🙌
Thank you so much for this content, you are doing the Lights work
Is this an AI narration? Fine is so. The pronunciation of alot of proper nouns are super messed up is all.
Other than that the content is really awesome. Keep it up.
U had to read the books. Because your knowledge of the story is impeccable. I found myself nodding in agreement as u recounted parts of the story.
Another great peace of work
Your videos on TWoT are awesome , but I worry about the show watchers, bet they're crazy confused, lol. Keep up the good work.
Wizards doesn't understand the lore at all. Rand was considered a noble, not king. Jesus Christ...smh
Having just watched the second season of the show, this somehow made more sense. That show swings between boring and nonsensical. I’m stunned they spent so much money for such a bad product. They should’ve hired you, this was better written
Read the books. One hint though - take your time and follow the story. The complexity unfolds and loses you in names and places and different storylines. It's a great series.
Yeah, the show is such a loose adaptation, it’s hard to watch. But what they do correctly is in their props and pronunciations. It’s jarring here to get it wrong because otherwise it’s a very faithful attempt to tell the story.
If anyone is watching these videos and comparing them to the TV Show.... Don't. These videos are 100 times better with more details and less made up BullSh!t. These videos represent the dream Robert Jordan had. The TV show... it's like someone took the character's and made their own work. Hard to follow and hard to watch. I try though.
I feel like you guys need someone familiar with the books to proof read the script before recording. Theres a few weird areas that, as others have stated, makes it look like you guys just used an AI to write the script.
How is ai generated art and an ai read script better entertainment than the Amazon tv show?
Bruh
Lol. CZcams gave me a "Translate to English" comment on this comment.
PLEASE FINISH YOUR ALTERNATE HISTORY SERIES
15:47 Fireworks aren't toys, kids; they are deadly siege tools.
all of your other WoT vids are really good, but now it seems like you're taking advice from Rafe. redo it, please.
Do y'all _deliberately_ try to mispronounce everything? From "Aiel" to "ALE" (it's "eye-EEL"), "Egwene" to "EGG-win" (it's "eg-WAIN"), "saidin" to "SIGH-din" (it's "sah-ih-DEEN") and so many more in between... you _do_ know the glossary in the books includes a pronunciation guide? Plus, the show has been pronouncing everything right since the beginning --- there's really no excuse. And it's not like these are unimportant or trivial words (Egwene is a main character, and _saidin_ and the Aiel are central to the story), nor are your pronunciation errors minor or easily dismissed (you cut whole syllables out of Aiel and _saidin!_ ). It's really quite jarring to hear it so often, and honestly a little embarrassing for a channel that is usually so polished.
Agreed. Bugs me too. It is not like the pronunciation is up for interpretation, Robert Jordan set the main ones in stone.
It’s not jarring for me lol. I pronounced the words a little differently in my head when I first read the books, before I checked the glossary and learned the “correct” pronunciation.
It's their thing. They've done a lot across their videos and I've mentioned it numerous times.
The narrator is just that, I don't think he has anything to do with the research or script...
@@adriandurham5023 I mean I don't think I'm being overly picky: They're blatant mispronunciations of fundamental words :P
It is called accent. He is British, so he can't pronouns certain sounds.
Don’t do these vids unless you’re going to actually do them well. Script was written by AI not an actual WoT fan. I would take down the WoT vids you’ve done until you can do them properly.
