- Fila is a bit of a mysterious brand. I mean Everybody knows it, but nobody really knows where it comes from, what their story is, or why it virtually disappeared from the stores during the first 15 years of the 21st century.
They were huge in the ‘90s, then went bust in the 2000s, and now they've been trying to make a comeback over the last few years.
Because Fila has been surfing the waves of the market, experiencing high and lows, sometimes being there, sometimes not, people forget how big they used to be.
Believe it or not, There was a time when Fila was the second-largest basketball shoe retailer in the world, behind only Nike. They were also the third-largest athletic shoe retailer in the world in 1996.

Based off of the attention I get from my thrift store bought FILA sweatsuit jacket, yes it could come back. They just need the right endorsements

The Grant Hill 2 is the only shoe I ever wanted. Sadly, I had to wait until I could buy them myself. But I do now have them in 3 different colours.

Very interesting! I have been searching for Fila Womens Wear with very little luck. With Adidas and Nike at their height, I don't think Fila can come back unless they cater to a specific market and get with the times. Is it likely. No! Thanks for this great informatory video!

Here in the UK Fila is doing pretty good i see them in most trainer sport shops.
I think they can bounce back if they target it to the younger generations who weren't around / were too young to remember their fall off. The brand is fairly popular with high schoolers and 20-year-olds where I'm from. strangely.

@@takeflight2142 except skechers came in 92 with a ripoff shoe of simple shoes, and historically copy other shoe companies, so it's prolly the other way around

I still rock Fila, its nostalgic for me, I rock Adidas and Puma too. I wish I could find me some Creative Reaction shoes and I want to get another pair of Supra Hydras. Its this weird pair of Jordans I had that were fired I havent seen them since I had them.
Creative Rec is trying to make a comeback, they sent me a free pair of shoes from their new line that I did a review on.
@@takeflight2142 Creative Rec is my joint, they got so much sauce, it ridiculous. That's cool af you gotta change to try some new kicks, man I'm glad my favorites are making a return, hopeful some of these Jeans companies, do to it hard to find a decent that at the nut hugger variety. Giraud is one that comes to mind.
