Laying more pipe!!
Something we all dream about!!
Lol! Good one!
I’m just so proud that you can operate, read plans, and keep the boss man straight all in one video!!
Lol👍 I got it all covered
Your as safe and smooth as they come..safety is always key, but safety over yrs n yrs time without eff ups is what makes a good one...dad retired underground and you have to absolutely make sure and never shortcut anything or lives are at stake...he saved 1 or 2 i promise..I've had em tell me stories and get choked up
Sounds like your dad is a good man
Those are some pretty unique camera views thanks for showing us that.
Glad you liked it!
I've always enjoyed watching heavy equipment at work. Thanks for taking us along on the jobs!
Your welcome!
I sure enjoy the trenching and pipe laying job Dennis. The camcorder on the stick that was some great shots there.
I enjoy anything heavy equipment. Operated big machines, just not dozers or backhoes always wanted to but never got the chance.
Glad you're enjoying the videos!
Great video on both cameras. Enjoyed watching you’ll work. It’s snowing in Denver all day. Thanks 🙏👏👍
Thanks Ronald!
Man I miss running heavy machinery and ditch work. now I’m in a hospital as a maintenance guy and only run heavy machinery when it snows and when I’m on my farm. Love your videos
Time for a new job?
Yeah but I’m being paid more and I’m I know I’ll always have a job at the hospital.
I understand
Thanks for taking the time to make it.....
👍
Well done i like the different camera shoots thank you.
Thanks 👍
Cam on the thumb! Yes!
Haha 👍
I really like the bucket cam really cool to see it from that angle great work.
Awesome thanks!
Thank you for all you do to put out theses videos.

Hi Dennis you are doing a great job with good machinery well look after keep the videos coming good camera angles as well

Dennis love the videos but take care cause your family need you ,God Bless .
I know they do thanks 👍
As always a great video.
Thanks!
I am really loving these pipe videos. So to see more!!!!!!
I might do some more, don't want y'all to get board with it.
Bought the flashlight off Amazon I love it. I even used the clip to hook to my truck bumper for a backup light lol !!
Alright! Thanks for the feedback on that light I love mine
Thanks Dennis for another great video.
👍
That's some beautiful digging Rock can make that job hell...👍
I guess I spoke too soon... LOL
Thanks yep rock sucks. Lol
Dang, you make that look easy. Stay safe.
Thanks 👍
Dennis you’re gonna end up like letsdig18 with the backhoe videos. Like all the camera angles and explaining the gps. Thanks for the video glad for some rain free weather.
Lol two rain less days in a row woohoo!
excellent video really enjoy watching Dennis
Thanks 👍
Awesome video ditch digging. Great picture too. Lots of talent to run one of those. You seem to be at home running that machine. Great job. Thanks 🙏 👏👍
I've been doing it a day or two,👍 thanks!
Always something that holds up laying pipe.
Lol yep
Thank you, very interesting. Thank you for explaining what and why.
Your welcome!
I’ve never laid pipe, but I certainly enjoy laying the pipe...
Lol 👍
Great video thanks for sharing have a great day
Thanks 👍
@@DLHFarms welcome
A good job that is nice getting the dozer to rip that rock
Yep, thankful they helped us out.
You're doing a darn good job editing and using two cameras . Looks very professional .
Thanks very much!
I have installed water mains all over the state of okla .it would have been nice to have that gps setup back in day
Yeah it's nice to have a little guidance when things have to be dead on
Great video and great video series here sure love watching these!
Awesome thanks!
Doing a great job Dennis, I like when you southern boys get talking, love the drawl. Sure different to up here in Alberta!! Have a great 2019 Dennis and family. We need some more video of your son, must be really growing up fast now.
Watch the new video I just put up and you'll see him. He is big
I was waiting on a totally different reply when the dude said it had a kubota engine haha. We know how much you love anything kubota
Oh yeah go Kubota 😒
One good thing about that clayground you can step dig to do your pipe work down here in Florida we're nothing but sugar sand you are required by law to drag a cave-in structure the whole way anything over three foot deep sometimes it's hard to even if put in simple septic tank line at a couple of feet when it's dry it's like trying to pile up salt when it's wet the sides of the ditch just flop
That's sucks glad we have the soil we do here
Really enjoy these videos man keep em coming
I'll see what I can do
LOL! At 3:00, it looked like you was dumping gravel on his head! You jokester!! Lolol
Lol
Absolutely love the shots from the thumb. That was awesome. I could watch these videos all day long. Keep up the great work. I noticed all the editing you have done too. That is really nice too. Having 2 cameras and switching between the two all the time takes time in editing. You are really doing a great job.
I just found your channel today and I have already subscribed and am waiting for more content. I love it. Thanks for the hard work!
Awesome thanks Joel, head over to my channel I've got lots to watch while your waiting in the new stuff.
I'da sure liked to had you diggin when I layed gas line...some of the operators we had left alot to be desired to put it lightly lol...was settin baskets and one got me with a dandy rock right in the back of the head that come off the bucket..I was on the second tier and it knocked me to the ground...he almost swan dove out the cab and thought I was mangled...
Lol geez. Hope you we're ok
Damn Nice Video. Thanks, Dennis.
Thank you!
You nailed it I was wondering why you were stopping. lol
I knew you would want to know lol
Great video thanks for sharing
Thanks 👍
Another great video Dennis, and very nice camera angles. You must be putting in some long days with this job and then firewood later on.
Take Care and be Safe Buddy 👍
Yeah always long days around here
Best part of the video is seeing that d8 struggling with the rock. Make it or break it.
👍 I thought y'all would like that.
Hopefully your ready for this weekend snow
Yep got my camera ready! Lol
Great job on the videos keep on coming
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the video buddy...been out today pushing the snow we got ,, a big blizzard here in PA 2 inches lol..better than nothing i guess lol
Lol that's a Whopper!
If you have time I would love to see the final connection, and explain how it’s started!
Ok I'll see if I can do that
I noticed a lot of farmers are in the construction business, they've grown up on the same earth moving machines,so why not make a buck or two.Good videos, keep'em coming
Lot of people got pushed out of farming because of money and this is where a lot of them went was construction. That's what happened to my dad.
Good video, great different camera pov and that must have been a helluva big rock to give that D8 trouble getting it cut down
I don't know how big it was but it was hard
Is Gavins nickname Blister he shows up when all the work is done
Lol I'll start calling him that
Awesome video
Thanks 👍
Nice camera work Dennis!! Looks like there is a storm headed your way this weekend. I thought my area was the only place that had rocks like that! lol
Yeah we are supposed to get some snow. Not sure how much yet.
good good job dennis nice to see you getting along till that big arse rock but the d8 got her done, theres going to be a lot of water coming down that pipe if it ever gets over half way up the pipe hope its not going into a small ditch lol
Yeah that rock slowed us up a bit. The water goes into a huge sediment pond
Love it
👍
Your looking pretty whipped ole buddy
Yeah it was 1am. Editing takes a lot of time.
@@DLHFarms I understand thank you for all the hard work that you put into to this just so we can watch. I know you sacrifice a lot of things to make make these videos and they are not in vein. Thank you sir. You know it's funny I'm in the grading business myself and farm a little bit I do this every day but yet I still watch videos on it how do you explain that? Have a great weekend sir
I don't know how you explain it but I do the same thing! Lol
Dennis you are a busy man! I hope you have time to lay some pipe at home! LMFAO
Bahahahah
See a fellow Hokie supervising!
Yep
Tell your backfill guy to quit banging the bucket
It's a loosing battle
That was going to be my question seems like you don’t have much rock to deal with got it Napa mike
Lol ,👍
Looks like you had a long day, lol😀
Every day 👍
To be only an hour south, u guys have nice "easy" dirt lol. We all have to do it ever time we dig, but people being that close to the bucket has just always made me nervous. "Equipment malfunctions not operators." Ready for the snow? Think it's going to be worse in the highlands. Started comment before the end lol. Great vid bud.
I'm ready send the snow! I'll make a video 👍
Funny how the dirt is different colored in layers
Yeah I see that a lot around here
with all that red clay mud you wouldn't need gravel that stuff hardens like concrete and can be a real pain in the but to break up when it has been compacted down
But you can't get the compactor down in under the pipe that's what the gravel is for.
Dennis I would like to see the camera pointed at the topcon for one dig ??
Ok 👍
IS this a sewer drain or storm water pipeline ?
Storm water
Nice video, but I wonder why you dont just dig the ditch and then the backfill excavator puts the gravel on the pipe? Not hating or anything, just wondering because thats how we do it in Norway.
Because he couldn't reach it without moving a lot of dirt first
Nice
Thanks
How many feet of drainage y'all putting if I may ask
About 4000 feet
I wish we used gps when laying pipe
It's a big help
Gotta admit I enjoyed that 😊. How big is that bucket on the digger? I'm thinking it's bigger than I think it is!
That one is a 48 inch. The biggest one we have for it is a 54 inch.
Do you use any machines with an engcon tiltrotator attachment? Always interested to see them being used and how they being utilized. Great videos.
Nope that's not a thing in the US, well I've never seen one here anyway.
Why stone on the sides but not under the pipe?
That's how the engineer wanted it. All the gravel is for is to support the haunches of the pipe because it's basically impossible to pack dirt under there.
Another good video right there. Great camera angles Dennis. Never seen a blade on a sheep's foot before. Is it used for grading?
Not really grading just to smooth up a little
How do you get your laser set up such that it is on the right alignment and grade?
We use GPS for alignment and use the grades one plans and measure our structures to figure the grades.
has your dump truck hauled ass when the roller started up yet?
You can always spot a lazy bottom man when he uses his feet to level out the ditch while holding a shovel. Would be fired in the first 10 min on my crew
Those pipe sections, do they just snap together or do you have to put in some kinda glue like with PVC pipes?
They slide together and have a rubber gasket that seals them.
What is the craziest thing y'all have dug up other than colorful stubborn rocks? We once a dug up a very old car and had to call the sheriff's department to have them check it, etc. Come to find out that spot was used to dump that car, other car parts, tires, barrels, tanks, parts of a building and other stuff. It all had to be dug up and filled in.
Nothing to crazy just old bottles mainly. Some of them have had some valve but nothing major.
Nice video man i run excavators all day myself. 326 FL 324EL 320EL and a pc 210. One thing man when you get them plans out release your lock for your controls so it doesnt move. How do you set your laser up?
We set it in the man hole and put in the grade we want, then make a mark our shovel where we want the pipe elevation.
Yea i understand that the laser will hit the shovel where your outside of pipe should be not your flowline. If your bedding add the inches to your shovel mark. Are you setting it up on rods or on the 3 legged tripod? If you gotta bed the pipe then lay it on the bedding get your guys a concrete rake. Its awesome for grading ditches out.
It's on a special stand made for it.
@@ASSOpid i stack my manhole out then i set my laser up on a crossbar and rods. Then site down to the next manhole. I lay alot of pipe was just curious of his method. I have a little stand for my topcon laser for laying storm drainage. Ive found its easier to use our laser for house pads to lay storm drain. I set both boxes put my laser high enough to see both both boxes. Set it pull a string line from box to box paint me a few marks or pin flag then we rock on.
Ive seen Volvo has a system that will tell you if you how much to cut while you are digging. Does a system like that cost a lot of extra money? I could see if you were laying a lot of pipe that it would be really helpful.
That's what I'm using it's Topcon GPS
Ok, I didn’t know if they were similar or not. I have ran a few excavators but none with topcon system. I like the construction videos you make, nice change of pace from the hay videos. Keep up the good work.
Great glad you like them!
Is this going to be a commercial property or residential?
Commercial
Great video. Are they Strickland buckets on your machines?
We have, Hensley, Geith, and Cat buckets.
Where is this project at? You went from 18 inches of snow to digging a trench without any frost.
We're in Virginia. You have to realize that sometime it takes me a week or two to get videos posted. The snow was all gone before Christmas got here. Also I live in the mountains and the job is down in the lower country even though it's only an hour away, but it makes a big difference thier temps are always 10 degrees warmer than ours.
@@DLHFarms Ok. I thought you was in a different state working on a job.
Nope same state.. barley
Hey brother where ya located
Virginia
Is that gravel or gold, looks like you put it in just to say its gravled for code.
There is a spec. The spec says to put gravel half way up on the pipe. Why waste more than the spec calls for?
@@DLHFarms that makes sence, i assumed it needed covering with gravel.
The gravel is to fill the void you can't get dirt to flow back into which is under the pipe
What is the reach on that Shovel?
About 20 feet
Do u and your o man own the company , and what r y'all building
It's a manufacturing plant. It's mostly my dad's company right now. But he's looking at me when he retires.
@@DLHFarms that's good best of luck to ya that sure is alot of equipment and nice lookin equipment to
👍
What is the rock for over the pipe?
Bedding. You can't get dirt packed back up under the round parts of the pipe but the stone will fill all the voids in.
At the beginning of the vid, you sure look tired. Bags under your eyes and eyelids drooping tells the story . Take care of yourself and get some rest, don't get sick. NO, I'm not a doctor.
Lol it was 1am
How's the Christmas presents running
You can see it in the video. It runs super good. Nothing runs like a deere
We haven't used it much yet. The dozer in the video is an older 850J
I know that's why I asked
My dad has been running it he says it's doing great.
Why didn't you guys use a 48" trencher?
Expensive and only can do one thing. Trench
why are you digging the side of the trench down like you are
To make it safe. Osha has strict laws on how it is to be done.
He explains that in the first vid
Yes first comment
👍
How come there is "Always" one or two standing around on a construction site? $30-$40 a hr going to waste. They could be doing something? Just saying....
Dang I'm under paid
Damn! you need some rest! Look pretty tired in the into!
It was 1am lol
Why put gravel over the pipe since there’s no holes in it. Dirt will do
You can't get the dirt packed in that small void for one and two the job spec calls for stone.
