Coming soon!
DLH Farms and part FOUR???
So far, SIX to EIGHT HOURS INTO A TWO DAY STORM!!
Could possibly be I still have a lot of footage
So did I!
Awesome
I love the different camera angles and commentary! :)
Your neighbors are lucky to have a neighbor like you to plow the roads.
The county is paying him to do this.
You guys are our local hero’s! And your wives are hero’s for staying home alone and keeping you guys fed!
Thanks siss
Watch your videos all the time. Enjoyed these snow videos. I was raised at the foot of Bent Mountain in Poages Mill and still remember the snow storms we used to get when I was growing up helping my dad clear the roads with the tractors. Thanks again
Awesome thanks for watching!
Try using a double cutting edge setup. Bolt s standard steel edge in front of the carbide. You get the abrasion resistance of the carbide edge and the standard edge protects the carbide from chipping or breaking. You will be amazed at how long this combination will last. This has worked the best for us in Vermont plowing roads daily all winter.
daryl W
That's what we use on our trucks I don't have the right bolts to do that yet on this plow
We use Jama blades in Missouri and have good luck with that setup
Love the squirrel story.
Lol
My dad told us one like that but said it was a black snake they followed to cut the road here lol.
Lol good story 👍
Thanks for part 2. I have been waiting on those chains! I pushed 31 hours for VDOT in this snow before I caught a break and the whole time was wishing I had some chains. I was on edge and fighting the steering wheel the entire time. Not a fun experience. Thanks for all of the videos. Nice to get tips and advice from hard working people like yourself doing the some of the same stuff we do. Keep up the good work. I appreciate you taking time to make the videos, I have been watching about every one of them since I got my T5. Now anxious for part 3
Awesome. Did you say you were in Floyd?
Yes sir. They had me pushing Daniels Run/Check area if you know where that’s at. Then day 2 they sent me to a place they called Dogtown all the way at the Roanoke county line, near Bent mountain I guess you could say. Never been there in my life. It was off of 221 way down Copper hill. Those are the roads I was praying the whole time I was pushing them. No tire chains on a 14’ wide mountainside road with a rock ledge on your left side and a 200’ drop off on the right will improve your prayer life!
Geez that's dangerous with out chains.
The State is lucky to have hard working people like you to keep the roads open.I live in the land of almost 6 months of snow.Snow plowing is no fun.The snow looks light and fluffy but it is not.It takes real horsepower to move it.Chains are a must in deep snow.Good job be safe!!
The snow wasn't bad to start with, light and fluffy, then it got a little rain Holly cow it got heavy
Best job ever ,snow plowing. Helping neighbors is the reward. Keep up the good shows
Thanks Kim!
I hate putting tire chains on especially when it’s snowing and cold then your hands get frozen 😂😂 great videos very intriguing so I watch through the whole thing lol 😂
Awesome glad to hear you liked it. Yeah tire chains are a pain
another great snow plowing video thanks for sharing Dennis
More to come!
Yes I watched all it.......like to see more!!!!! Thanks from Huntington West Virginia
Awesome thanks for watching!
Thanks Dennis great video of you pushing the white stuff. Brings back lots of memories of my younger years.
Glad to hear you liked it
I watched right to the end of the video. Came across this and noticed the date, I was sailing out of Baltimore and as we made it to Norfolk we hit this storm while at sea. This was quite intense and entertaining at the same time. Was a pretty quiet spot for two days until we got south of the Carolinas, ship was pitching and yawing impressively and you could hear the creaking and cracking of the ceiling panels and other facades. You have a new subscriber now.
Great video. Those heated wipers paid for themselves twice over.
Yep glad to have it
Your up late dude. Me too.
You could make your videos an hour and a half long. If you wanted an I would still watch all of it. Thank you for all you do.
Well thanks for the compliment!
Yep i agree miss pushing snow, now all i do is walk behind a snowblower just not the same.
Watched part1& 2.
New subscriber here.
Thanks for subbing. I got more videos of this storm to edit when I get time
Howdy from a Hillsville boy! Thanks for keeping those roads open last week! I know folks appreciated it!
Hey neighbor your welcome!
Nice job there. The #1 condition that defines a 'blizzard' is high winds - when it causes whiteout conditions with winds around 35mph and up.
Thanks for the info
Watching this video caused me to remember back in the dark ages I was coming home for Christmas from college in Kentucky. We drove over the "Lookout Mountain" in Chattanooga and through a low snow cloud. The snow was suspended in the cloud. It was a weird feeling to see and drive in snow suspended in the clouds. I bet you were one tired puppy when you finally got home...
Wow that sounds crazy! Yes when I got home i slept the best I had in years lol
Yes watched it all. Good storm money maker. Better you than me to many years pushing but still doing it.
Thanks for taking the time. I don't have near the fun I did when I was 18 doing it.
This is amazing, I enjoyed every second of it. Thank you and Merry Christmas my friend. Jim in Yosemite, Ca.
Thanks Jim Merry Christmas!
I watched it all. I was up your way the other week. Had to make a trip to mtn airy. I live in rocky mtn va nice to see a fellow youtuber close to home
Awesome hey I got a neighbor with the same name as you lol
@@DLHFarms not wierd at all
This was the good kind of snow that was real dry and fluffy. We are around 80 miles south of you in NC, and it was the exact same here. Lightweigh, dry and fluffy. Real good snow skiing snow.
It started out that way, but it changed later.
That opening clip would make a great new holland promotional video
True!
I always watch the entire video, I enjoy it, I guess because my dad did the same thing occasionally I got to tag along
I used to tag with my dad too doing this.
I live in Canada and if that is not a Blizzard I don,' know what is. Holy &^%^R that is a lot of snow. Thanks for taking the time to share.
No that's saying something coming from a Canadian. Don't y'all have snow all the time?
Snow started this year at the end of Oct and it looks like it will stay till April. We normally get about 4 to 7 inches at a time, by the end of the year we might get 4 to 5 feet total.
That's a lot of snow
Love these snow pushin videos keep them up! Also cool story on squirrel spur- I’ve run that road a thousand times but never heard that one lol!
Pass it on to your kids if you have any. 👍
it's so hard to believe you got all that snow and I live in West Virginia an all I got was dumb ol rain. great job out there buddy. stay strong, stay safe out there and take care fella. thanks for what you do.
Hey I was up in McDowell county today riding ATVs. Looked like they had a little snow but nothing like here
It's been a while since I've seen snows that bad. I know it gets a little tiring plowing like that, especially when you have to cover such a large area, and if there are many drivers out and about, that makes it even more of a headache. You are sure doing the best you can Dennis, and the 6030 is running like a top. Well done sir.
Yes that 6030 is getting it done for sure!
Love your content, there is something very satisfying watching you get the roads cleared. Great job!
Thanks!
Just came across your channel, might just have to subscribe, after watching this one! I find it enjoyable to listen to the different accents of the people on here (CZcams), one guy for Alabama, another from Canada, one from the New England area, I myself spent 5 years in Texas in the 80’s, moved back to Michigan...we’ve had it easy with the #now so far. Can’t wait! Nice job on keeping the roads clear.
Thanks for watching. Go ahead and hit that sub button it don't cost nothing. 👍
We want part 3 now lol
It's coming soon!
@@DLHFarms I hope there will be a part 4 lol
There is
Well I sat here drinking my morning coffee while watching your fun in the snow & all I can think of is, "Dang that's a lot of snow & it looks cold outside". LOL Looks like you guys had a really really long day. Stay safe.
Yeah really long 2 days
You can make a large steel cleated roller to follow you mounted on the 3 ppint hitch . Our road graders that plow the roads with V-plows and wing plows added to the under the frame blade have a power down cleated roller for ICE CHOPPING as the grader plows.
Hmm never heard of that
Thanks, happy new year all
Happy New year!
I would like to have a snow like that instead of rain!!! I love the New Holland equipment!! Good video buddy keep it up!
I understand you can't make any money out of rain!
Man oh man I never figured it would *SNOW LIKE THAT* in old Virginia... It's 0400 here 3000m out west on JAN 2 2019.
Is occasionally it does.
I've never seen a road grader with a snow-plow attachment on the front. WOW. And I live in Iowa, so I should have seen one.lol
We have two
I watched 3 and 4 and 2 and looking for 1 I'll ride with you all night keep up the good work!!!!
Here is the first one.
czcams.com/video/AIkg_6ZHlxk/video.html
You kill me. "I think I will use the new chains when we get a lot of snow". lol
Blu Ice...yep!! I agree!! Ain't no sense in waiting till tomorrow to put on the new chains!! Lol
Lol
@@DLHFarms Have you ever tried studded tires?
No
@@vner I don't think studded tires are legal in Virginia
I did lol i watch them all the way through .. We got that same snow storm lol ... 13.8 inches in Davenport iowa
Thanks for watching! Did y'all get it all cleaned up?
Yea we sure did
Sad to say, in Upstate NY, in lake effect country, we call that Tuesday. See of there is a foil system for the front of your blade, it will help the wind and snow coming back at you. Take care and stay safe bro.
Thanks 👍
Great video Dennis. Had snow here but not like you guys. Thanks for all the hard work you do.
Thanks 👍
I use to plow with a 500 Komatsu Loader in upper Massachusetts, 13 straight hours I think in 2015....the year they closed down all roads nighttime plowing is more fun.
Yeah I like night time better too.
Thank God that tractor technology is getting way better. You should see some of the old junk I used to plow with. I was lucky not to get killed. No brakes is a bad thing in a snowstorm. lol
Yeah that's not good
More relaxing than playing Farming Simulator.
Lol
wow man. I've been watching you for a while from south Louisiana. That stuff looks like it'd be kinda fun for all of about 5 minutes. Be safe
It was fun until it got old. Thanks for watching!
@@DLHFarms so how many hours straight?
I pushed 38 hours straight. I think I talk about it in the upcoming videos
Haveyou ever looked into winter tires for snow removal? Graders havnt needed chains around here in 7-8 years unless on pure ice since they started running winter caps. It might bepricey to setup at first but they will last quite a few winters. They are like 4-5in blocks with sipes in them like the artic claw tires for pickups. Its a soft rubber that stays verry clean. You can buy vergin tires with that thread but usualy to save money they just have thier older tires recapped in that thread and get rims. Alot of people in maine get the same caps for wheel loaders and personal tractors also
Nice Rig you have for plowing Dennis, putting in some long days aren't you, bet everyone one is happy to see you opening up there roads.
Take care 👍
Oh yeah everyone loves to see the big tractor coming
Great videos. Keep em coming. Never gets old watching the snow roll. Well maybe after about two days straight of plowing with no sleep. Lol!!
And that's exactly what happened to me 40 hours straight before getting to go home to sleep.
@@DLHFarms I know how u feel. I plow snow also. Makes for a long week. Stay safe. Thanks again.
,👍
I watched it all and like others have said, I'm looking forward to part 3. Stay safe!
Awesome!
thank you for all the good videos dennis
Your welcome!
Welcome to our life in southwest Michigan. I plow with a massey 5445 with dyna 4 transmission. Cant beat a powershift for snow plowing. I run a front blade and a 8/16 hydraulic folding rear blade. Most of our snow storms along the lake shore come in at 10" a time. Can't beat the visibility of a tractor cab for plowing.
I hate plowing with anything but a tractor.
Boy y’all got hammered. I love riding along. Thanks Dennis.
Yeah we did. Thanks for coming along
Great video and at least people down their in Virginia know to stay off the the roads while it’s snowing hard!!! Heck in Pennsylvania I think they come out more than just staying at home so the roads can be cleaned properly!!
Yeah everyone stays at home and eats there milk and bread
DLH Farms I wish they would do that up here!!
Ahhh milk samiches. Nothing better on a cold wintry day. Thanks for the vid!
I understand that!
Lol yep
For an all nightery at this soup sandwitchs and coffee. WE once had a miniweenie she didn't think snow was anything worth having
Looks like a pretty good blizzard I think we got about maybe the total 4 inches all winter but I was always thought its nice to share lol. Keep up the great videos
Lol 👍
Great footage as always, looks like a white out at times, the heated wiper seems to do it job well keep up the good work and stay safe
Yeah it does definitely was a white out sometimes
I watched it all! We had about 11" outside of Clarksville. I like that blade you have on that tractor!
Yeah that's a super nice blade!
That New Holland defroster is doing everything it can to keep your windshield from fogging up.
Yeah anytime i get out and get snow on me it fogs up while I'm drying out. Once I dry out it's not an issue
My sister lived in Rocky Mount for a few years while she worked at Ferrum College and they had Blizzards there all the time, there are 2 Dairy Queens in Rocky Mount.
Yep I go down that way often I always got to get me a blizzard lol
Love the video Dennis and it 's big storm you having , Here in Ontario Canada they use in the small roads Graders with chain 6 Wheel trucks and 10 wheelers with salt and sand.
Y'all get the big snow up there I'm sure
I like it I think it's a great video love all your videos
Awesome!
What an epic battle/day. Thanks for sharing!
That it was!
Am I the only one that tried to dodge that snow blast, that covered up the windshield, and made seeing impossible??
Maybe it's just me, and not enough coffee in my ahhhh evening adult beverage!!!
Nice rig & plow....that’s a blizzard !!! Actually the wind has to maintain a certain speed.
We can see it.
Yeah for like 6 hours not sure if it did or not
Enjoyed, thanks for sharing. We need some of that snow here in North Alabama.
I've been trying to send it to other places but it ain't working.
Looks like your getting Hammered!! Snowing Here In Northern Maine today!! Thats all we use is Dump trucks with plows and wings on them and some payloaders with blades to plow oarking lots!! We dont plow our roads with farm tractors!! But I enjoy your videos!! Stay Safe And Merry Christmas :) ;]
Well you don't know what your missing then if you've never tried a farm tractor in the snow. Merry Christmas!
@@DLHFarms I have 22horse Koiti. Compact tractor with a 50inch blower on the front and 4wheel drive!! I've plowed with a 910 cat loader with a chip bucket on it! :);]
Thanks again for the ride along! Can.t wait to see part 3!
👍 it's coming soon
@@DLHFarms Looking forward to it!
Watched it all and wishing it was happening here in Oregon. Stay safe.
I'm sure yours is coming
I sure hope so
This is great indoor winter time entertainment!
Lol
Thanks for the last pass thru the gas station. I can get some bags if ice now.
Lol your welcome
i think its kind of cool when u video off the plow. it shows all the junk that guys collect along the edge of the road
Glad you like my style
Wow you guys are sure getting some snow. That looks like one of our Minnesota storms. Not this year though. It was in the 40's here today & no snow to speak of here. It looks like we won't have a white Christmas. Be safe & thanks for the video.
Someone said we had a 46 percent chance of having a white Christmas.
Loved the video!
Thanks
To you it might be a lot of work but to me it looked like it would be a lot of fun
Oh it was fun just got worn out.
Wish mother winter would return to Michigan again. Seems like Tennessee, Va, Kentucky area been getting all the big storms, past few years.
I'm sure your time is coming!
Wow, lots of snow lol in my area all the snow has melted away and it's in the 40's.
Its all gone here now too
You have the right to be called one of the best Plow Kings south of the mason dixon
Lol thanks
We have good freinds in Ravenna -Canada with just over 3Ft of Snow . Here in the UK we might might only see conditions like that every three - four years . But My fathers people only ever used Masseys , I later worked on big Farms where FORD was the name of the game . Thanks for your replies
👍
I like your accent! It was like this in the UK last year, but this year - not a flake as of yet. Good video
Thanks 👍 it's been warm every since the snow haven't had nothing but rain since
@@DLHFarms Where are you in the states - is that a North Carolina/East coast accent I hear?
I'm in VA
@@DLHFarms Get you - surprised you get so much snow so far south
Yeah but our elevation is pretty high at 3000 feet.
Very interesting video.the longer the better.we don't see much snow in Ireland.except for last march we got a blizzard, but that was a freak thing.the result was panic, you could not get a loaf of bread in Ireland for love or money.
Lol thanks for the feedback!
Love the snowplow video's! Please keep them coming!
I'll make as many as I can
Didn't realize you guys got that kind of snow down there
Yeah sometimes it gets bad
Good video. I live below the snow line. We might get a dusting of snow that last a day before it melts. Most years we get nothing at all.
Well that's no fun
I’m from Boone’s Mill love seeing the snow back home!
That's not too far away
Ditto all . Waiting for part 3. Great coverage there.
Thanks 👍
I bet you was busy. Looks like how it was in Bristol va I like watching videos like this good job thanks for the road work you do!!
Yep busy as a bee
Can’t wait to see part 3. I hope it’s coming soon
Yeah won't be long got to get it edited
Loved the video
Thanks!
My favorite channel. To bad your always so dang busy lol.
Jay G...if he wasn't so dang busy, we'd be watching the garbage on cable tv!!
Stay busy Dennis!! We've had a lot of rain up here!! I need quality entertainment, not that landfill fodder on cable!! I'll bet you don't miss wiping sweat, and swatting mosquitos, one bit!! I love a snow storm in the mountains!! I could watch it all day, FROM HERE!!
Thanks for that!
Lol thanks I don't miss the sweat not yet anyway.
Ready for part 3
Me too! Lol
Nice job and that gas station. It was a tight fit!!
Lol yes it was thanks!
Man that looks like a mess. Back in the winter of 1983-84 I was working in PA. We had a blizzard that lasted 3 days. It was snowing and blowing so hard you couldn't see 3 feet in front of you. It got o bad that PADOT pulled the plows off the roads. We where snowed in for 3 days. Ended up with over 3 feet of snow. I had so much snow in my engine compartment of my truck the fan wouldn't turn when I tried to start it,
Good day! We have had a few blizzards and they normally bring 3 feet or more of snow.
We love there videos Dennis. I hope there is a part 3 and part 4.
There may be a part 4 depends on how much footage I use
Great video
Thanks!
That's a heck of a machine keep up the hard work and vids coming wv follower hear. God Bless
Awesome heading to WV tomorrow to ride some trails
Great video Dennis. Looks very tiring trying to keep ahead of it.
It definitely was by the end
If you spray RainX on your headlights on your tractor, the ice won't build up on them bcuz the heat from the headlights will keep the ice and snow off, unless the headlights are LED lights bcuz LED lights don't heat up enough
Thanks for the tip
