By the time they graduated from St. Andrew’s, I knew they’d be together forever; when they later broke up, I knew it would be only temporary. How? There are almost no young women who can transition through everything without putting a foot wrong…and not EVER leaking information to ANYONE!

American here. My daughter doesn't pay much attention to the BRF, but she caught part of the engagement interview. She could see Kate was nervous but she was doing well and showing herself to be nice and genuine. But when she was asked if she thought she would do well she didn't know quite how to answer (who would?) Thats when William put his hand on her and said, "She'll do very well." My daughter just melted. William praised, protected, and respected Kate all with one small gesture and one short sentence. He now has an American fan for life, and as it turns out, he was absolutely right!
She changed a lot about herself to fit in to the monarchy and i respect her for her sacrifice.
