    Something to note: Keep in mind that I'm just a normal guy who loves cars. I'm not a trained mechanic, although my father was. If something interesting car wise comes up, I try to film it and upload it for entertainment and the "look at what I done" factor. Pat me on the back, or give me a "good game" pat on the butt. These videos are meant to inspire other DIYers. Working on cars can be dangerous, even life threatening, if the proper cautionary measurements aren't taken. You also run the risk of damaging your vehicle and or voiding your warranty. If for any reason you feel like the job is too big to handle, I would suggest consulting with a professional mechanic.

    Should have got some of motion race works firewall relocation bracket for the ls!! Then order make your own plug wire kit! Route the wires out of the fold over area tucked down and to wherever you mount the bracket to mount the coils! Don’t have to be on firewall! Have the 3.5ft extension harness is nice to. Also i know it’s an old video but thought id say it for future use.
    Running same coil kit, at .16 gap on my 407whp spark! Have never failed me coils are from an old cavalier build i did! Had spark cut back in the beginning of tuning and under load on dyno gm says gap them at 31 i thought it was to big so i gapped them to 23. Then had bad spark blow out thought it was from being so large so we took them to 34 and it still was worse! Finally took them to 16 and it was money!! Also pistons showed no wear like yours. Car has 24,029 miles. Blew up the motor at 18k miles it got all the forged goodies in the bottom end, diamond pistons, custom made aluminum rods… Darton dry sleeves. Milled block surface, .05 milled heads to 2 thousandths before max cut! Has a set of custom ground big big camshafts with insane overlap at certain rpm it’s got a 6266 precision turbo! I have tracked the car since it was new. Ran 388!passes plus 6700 in city driving!! And noticed some smoke was coming out. Checked oil limped home but now we are shooting for mid 500s with a 75hp nitrous jet to get it in the 2 step on the line frome the turbo laggy! I and as a added bonus for extra power when needed we ended up makeing another90 hp

    With that much heat from those coils and that much boost, predetonation sounds like a major problem you're going to have to deal with. Are you running a cooler plug? With 20psi of boost, how can those injectors keep up without you running super lean?

    • @cmattdabrat

    I have one question regarding 1.8 transmission fluid drain and refill, is it really impossible to change drain and refill the transmission fluid for cruze 1.8 gasoline engine, is there any significant danger or issue if I will do the fluid change? Thank you much!

    • @Ungalfo
      @Ungalfo Před 4 lety +2

      Easiest way is to drain the fluid into or pour it into a container with graduated measurements. Refill the same exact amount that comes out. Around 5.5 quarts from what I remember.
      Otherwise you have to be able to read the trans temp.

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  Před 4 lety +1

      The transmission is meant to be serviced. There is a drain plug, and a fill plug. Google Chevy Cruze 1.8 drain and fill plug. Remove the plug, let it drain, reinstall the plug, open the fill plug, get the proper gear oil / weight, and amount needed to top it off. Start filling the gear box until it starts leaking out of the fill hole. Replace the fill plug and done. Pretty simple process but you will need a couple tools. It'll take you about 10-15 minutes.

      @@cmattdabrat Thank you Mr. Matthew for the great information, actually im here in Doha Qatar and working with same company with Chevy but in logistics, I will try to ask our quick service for a drain and refill of my trans fluid, I hope there will be no issue after the refill because I think they didnt change the fluid from the first time the car was bought and everytime im asking our mechanic they are always saying that no need to change the ATF as its a lifetime fluid, by the way I bought the car secondhand from our pre owned showroom. Thank you.

    Will the transmission be able to take the power without going out ???

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  Před 4 lety +1

      It'll hold up fine if you're not revving the engine and dumping the clutch from a stand still / dig. The biggest issue with these transmissions is the 1 to 2 shift. They tend to grind gears at high RPMs.

      @@dannyjr7997 6th is the weak gear because of the bearing setup, from my understanding. Only issue with 1st is it's kinda a turd. The 1-2 shifts aren't great, but once you're in 2nd it's haul city.
