Good to see you back and positive things happen. Persistence with your cruze seems to be paying off now. Would like to see some power figures or timed runs. Looks and sounds like it's driving great now. A real credit to you.
Thank you! I'm looking forward to it as well. Still so many goals I want to accomplish with this Cruze, so much more to come.
@@cmattdabratgetting a draggy is much easier then relying on a drag strip.
You're really changing my mind about these cars. It's so cool that you're making this car such a beast
The engines are a really great platform. Only thing I really see needing some sort of upgrade is the main caps, in which at some point I'll make some billet caps. Aside from that, great flowing head VVT, GM / Opel really has a good engine here that's overlooked.
Please never stop making videos on this cruze. Please also make a video explaining what’s generally needed to boost a 1.8l cruze reliably as in my searches I have found almost no answers. I get sooooo excited whenever I see you have a new video on this thang out. I want my cruze to be a beast too😰
More to come! Be sure to check out my previous videos. I walk through how I got it to this point step by step.
So glad to see you posting this vid! You're one of my favorite youtuber's and I wish nothing but the best for you man! Everything looks extremely clean and very well explained, I've watched since the inception of the cruze!
I appreciate that!
Very clean installation, it's sounds amazing! Awesome job. God bless you!
Thank you and God bless!
Awesome content Matt! You probably got the most badass Cruze in the nation now with that 2-step and no lift shift ✌️🔥🔥
Thanks! You think so? I really appreciate it.
Nice too see you back on Screen. Im so glad that the cruze is back on street as well.
Greetings and many Love from Germany 🇩🇪 Mate. Keep it up.
Thanks! 😃
I'm glad to see you working on the cruze. It is always a good thing to work on something you enjoy.
Thanks! Been fun getting back at it.
Love how the cruze can 2 step sounds awesome. Glad to see u make some content. Hope all is well..
Thanks 👍
Absolutely awesome update! I've been anxiously waiting and hoping that you've been doing alright, brother. I've learned a few new things about our 1.8L lately and am gonna be attempting to put my own mild turbo setup together soon. I have to do mine piece by piece, though.
Keep it up, stay positive and I hope to see some timed runs in the future! :)
I appreciate the positive words! Keep me updated on the build. Definitely is a process piecing things together, but if you have any questions let me know.
Good to see you back at it bro, keep your head up and remember you are awesome
Thank you, I will
Thank u so much for the r and d on this mod years from now people will come watch this for there own install
If you hit overboost, you need an upgraded electronic boost control solenoid. Helps keep the boost at target.
I have a boost control but had the duty cycle set too high. This the first time I've really got into it aside from some pulls to data log and street tune the vehicle. We're getting there.
God I’m glad I found your channel again. I only remember watching you install this turbo kit and I haven’t seen your channel since.
Welcome back!
Glad your back ! Your my inspiration to stuff a eaton m90 off a pontiac 3800 gtp on my 1.8 cruze. Got a decent start so far.
Thanks and keep me updated how things are going.
So excited to see you back. I love your series. So different and so cool
Thanks! It's a great feeling to be back at it.
Such a positive pickup and refresher seeing you back on it and back in action...sometimes I feel like giving up and forget how far I've come when the options and opportunities are endless!! God is good and "every little thing, is gonna be alright" 🎶🎵 like the great said himself. But on another note cannot wait to see what your pulling on the dyno...man I wish I could figure out how to flash my own ECU so I can drive my now turbod Corolla but I may be doing a complete swap to something more adapt and ready for something like this so great work keep it up!!!🙏❤️🙏❤️
Thank you! Feeling more motivated and seeing other channels getting out there has me motivated. I'm still new to tuning, but maybe a standalone ECU would be a good fit for you? Granted it's in the budget. Keep me updated on how things go!
Welcome back champ
enjoying your videos man
from kuwait ❤
Appreciate it!
Never thought a Chevy would sound so good
Good to have you back brother
Thanks!
Happy you back brother 💪🏽 stay strong
Thanks! Hanging in there and pushing forward.
My brother from another mother happy to see your return I was thinking about you
Thanks and I appreciate you keeping me in your thoughts.
So happy to see a fresh video. Much love Matt!
Thank you!
Brotha, so glad your back again. Videos are still great & really hope all is going well. ✌️
I appreciate that
Hey! Welcome back! Glad to see you back. Cool hair man.
Hey, thanks! :)
Great video mate. Awsome footage for cruzzers. You show us the way. I love my cruze.
Thank you!
I just traded my Cruze in but love you content. Much love homie. Hope all is well.
Thanks for sticking around even if you don't have a Cruze anymore. I appreciate ya!
So good to see you back at it man!
More to come!
Glad you back
welcome back Matt. from Malaysia
I envy this man's self efficiency and Independence man, he's literally living my personal dream 😅 what I'd do with that same knowledge!
I appreciate that!
Finally it's tuned and ready enjoy it and I love to see that on track
Absolutely!
Happy to see you are doing video’s again 👏
If you think the tuning on the car it’s good and safe go to the track !!!!
Can’t wait to see that video
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Feels good to be back. Tune is nice and safe. There's only a couple tweaks I'd like to do, but she is ready.
@@cmattdabrat can’t wait to see it in action
Glad to see you back at it 🤘.
More to come!
Glad to see a new video so soon ❤️
Glad to be back creating videos!
Glad to see you’re back!!
Feels good to be back.
Welcome back dude
Thanks!
Couldn't have timed the drive by gunshot any better, bahaha. That thing is rowdy. Gonna be very interesting to see how the MXR turbo holds up. Nice haircut man and awesome update!
Thanks! Need to get some camera help over here lol. So far so good even without a BOV. Have been pushing 3 bar and maxing out my sensor. lol
@@cmattdabrat That's nuts. No BOV on Rotaru either it sounds so good. Only pushing 1 bar though hahaha.
Im so glad bro chosed to put 2 step on chevy cruze and make a video abt it🤣🤣🤣
When a video does well and trolls come in knowing nothing about the build. I bet you think it's the 1.4. Now that's the hilarious part 🤣
glad to see you back to business !
Feels good to be back working on the project. Time to see what she'll do.
Matthew... You have such a brilliant mind. It is amazing to see such content from you. I shared this video with a dear friend of mine and we both own cruzes. We are amazed with what work youve performed over such a period of time it is like no other. You might be the fastest cruze owner in the world... besides that V8 engine swap nonsense... This is something else.
You look well, continue on and look forward. You truly are shining.
Take care,
Spenny
Wow, thank you! Certainly my goal to set some records and be competitive in the FWD world. Slow process getting it where I want, well... and money, but we'll get there.
glad your back. Love the content
Appreciate it!
The goat is back. Let's gooooo!!!
Let's gooo! Thanks!
that thing sounds amazing!
Thanks!
Great video, only thing id change is having the wire tubing going through the firewall as it'll act a gutter will let water into the foot well, have it stop right before the hole through the firewall
Thanks! Haven't had any issues so far and all my gauges are routed through the same hole. The cruze has a spout for the drainage on the other side.
good to see a video from you, hope all is going well mate
Thanks! Things are slowly getting better.
Sick video man!
Appreciate it!
Glad your back! I clicked on this video so fast! I hope you’re doing well
Really appreciate it!
Holy shit, with the hair cut I didn't recognize you. Always great vods.
LOL! Thanks!
just got myself a 6spd 1.4 turbski cruze yeee, binge watching your vids!
Nice! Have you checked out ZZP's videos as well. Great stuff.
@@cmattdabrat no i am now though! I def want the same short shifter. Is it me, or is the 1st 2nd gear on these cars STUPID short lol
Dash mount an some go pros an sum street pulls against some cars would be awesome to see
That's Nuts! But in a good way! 🤪 looking forward to seeing what kind of times it lays down 👍
Thanks! Me too.
Probably best the best 2step for ecotecs
So cool man love it
Thanks!
This was very entertaining 😂
Thanks!
Cruze is love bro 🎉
Getting a good quarter mile run or two in while logging, and weighing your car, might eliminate the need to dyno for now. Quarter mile mph will be a bit better judge of power anyway. Never know with some dyno shops. Great progress, and fun to see you get to enjoy the car.
Thanks! Not sure how the tires will hold at the track, but you do have a great point. I'd still like to get it on the dyno to see what it likes for timing, as well as tuning the VVT.
This thing is so nice dude
Thanks!
Love it hell yeaaa
Man I love it, Started out thinking "oh god this guys gonna put a bang bang box on a shitty 1.8 cruze, here comes the rice" Then i saw the turbo LOL. Great work!
LOL! Thanks!
rad brotha , my standalone has all this in it but this is great informative for ppl use there stock or modded ecu and also great for my secret future build if i can find all the parts needed to make it happen as i have looked and looked and can not find anyone doing the next build i am ...... but i am super happy to see ya back posting and seaming to be in good spirits ,wish we was closer as would love to do some friendly racing with ya but anyways great vid brotha and really good for anyone trying to learn and or make there dbw preform top notch ... l8er my brotha much love and respect .. peace and love fam keep it rad stay safe and build on ... l8z .... ps how do you like the ecotec platform? and have you heard of zzp?
Thanks for the feedback! Looking into FuelTech or Haltech. Definitely wish you were close as well. Would be fun to do some competitive racing in Mexico.
Sonics, Cruze and Camaro's come with flat foot shifing in the OEM tune. Set your minimum mph and minimum throttle % and done. You still have to clutch it but shifts pretty quick.
Yes, and no. I've used the stock flat foot and launch control setting. It cuts fuel instead of ignition, and has a very slow recovery. I tested it with my setup and doesn't build boost off the line. Maybe a great option for NA though.
That thing sounds nuts! Haha gotta love it can’t wait to see this thing at the track but I’d definitely be careful about snapping axles launching on 11 psi 😂 I mean it’d be a fun time but not for a long time.
LOL! You have a good point. I'll have to test and see what she likes off the line for boost and just let the clutch slip.
@@cmattdabrat yeah and I’m sure on street tires it won’t hook up to well, so you might be golden !
Nice to see you again. That Cruze has turned into a bad little car!
Thanks Doug!
i have an automatic will i still get the pops and flames ?
SHOTS FIRE 🔥
lol
Could you make an engine build video, from block to fully assembled, it would be nice to build an engine like this one.
I did a build video, or a couple of them.
Short block

Let me know if you need any other info.
You may or may not know the answer to this, I have a 1st gen auto cruze, which brake peddle wire do I tap into for the clutch wire to the n2mb? Everything else is good except that
I used to have a chevy cruze rs it was a pretty dam fun car for what it was dam good on gas i was seeing close to 48 mpg at some points .
Nice! I had a RS '11 years ago. It's been a fun challenge boosting the NA 1.8.
@@cmattdabrat that is nice build you that looks like a really fun car
Does this work with automotic transmission or only manual?
Matt, we spoke about the short throw shifter from ottp, your making me really consider this on my 2012 1.8 RS Replica, where do i come across a turbo exhaust manifold, the bare bone basics for now, thanks man
I made mine
czcams.com/video/76j4nbjvnA4/video.html
I've thought about making them for sale, but once everyone started getting hit with EPA fines, I backed off. I still may offer them for sale in the future, but I'd have to make sure I have a process in place where I can confirm they'll be for "off road use" only.
Is the wiring the same on a 2012 Chevy sonic? 1.4t
Glad to see you back up and running! Do you know if this will work with a BNR tuned 1.4 Cruze or can BNR tune this in? Kinda new to all this tuning stuff.
Thanks! Definitely should. It's just cutting the ignition so I don't see why it wouldn't.
i wanna put this on my gen 2 cruze
Respect for a turbo ecotec might do a m62 SC cavalier soon
Thanks and nice!
That what I'm talking about! 🚗💥🔥
LOL! It's finally a flame thrower.
If I saw a cruze do this irl it would so funny omg lol
lol
can i do this to a 5vz fe 3.6 v6??
goes to show you bois, you can build whatever you want
You're right about that!
Ive talked a lot of shit on the Chevy Cruze but there is no hating this car. Wicked sleeper
Thanks!
Thatdudeinblue needs to drive this!!
That would be awesome!
Just wanted to warn you of the danger when using a aftermarket 2 step. Your not able to control the timing when activating it, like you would be able to when using a aftermarket ecu or a modified stock ecu firmware.
Which means you need to pay special attention to the timing in the area the WOT box is activated. Ideally I like to pull 12 - 15 degrees timing on the 2 step.
Thank you for the heads up. I'll have to do a data log and take a look at what the timing is doing.
@@cmattdabrat
The big problem comes when you set the two step at a reasonable rpm like 3000-4000 rpm. Where it wouldn't normally make boost. It can have crazy timing there.
@davesworld needs to install this on his gen 2 cruze so i can figure out how to do it!
Right! Get on it @davesworld
Long time no see ✔💯🚗⭐👨🔧🚘
:)
i have a air intake too
Hello. Do I have to have coil on plugs for this to work or can it be wired to the injectors also?
If you have EFI, it'll work with either the fuel injection or ignition. I opted to do ignition to get the turbo to spool. The stock ECU on my vehicle has a built in fuel cut, launch control, but doesn't build boost and is pretty lazy on the recovery.
I’ve never seen a vampire that works on Chevys, until now.
Never watched Twilight? I'm sure he works on his Cruze too.
You have to install something to do flat-foot shifting? I did flat foot shifting 3-4 all the time in my Honda Accord 5 speed and it was stock.
Depends on what you're trying to do. If you want ignition cut, yes. The stock ECU will only do a fuel cut while doesn't retain boost.
Hope to see you racing your car again!!! 😎😀
Now that it's getting cooler I'll be back out soon!
@@cmattdabrat Looking forward to the new video!!! 😎
Only in Texas regular traffic has big turbo and 2 step
Everything bigger in Texas. Almost.
Hey same last name! Ive never seen any other Chevaliers besides family haha
That's cool! Who knows. We're probably family down the road.
2009 Toyota Corolla 1.8 !! Help I want to do this !!
Nice i love it 💛💙💛💙💛♥️
Matthew ! Loved the vid! I’m curious if you’d ever make a video testing the rev limiter capability for those really interested in buying for that feature ? I’m wondering if it’s truly up to snuff.. I’m wanting to slightly lower my limiter for the engines sake (i drift) but I don’t know how effective this feature truly is 🤔 or if it would even be safe long term.. any inputs appreciated if you have suggestions ! 😁
Thanks! I raised my 2 step limiter to 6k last video. As far as longevity, 2 step can be really rough on engines so I haven't exactly tested it too much if I'm not going to put that built up boost to work.
@@cmattdabrat right I get you. Makes sense !
Wonder if this plays nice with my s70 volvo? Those ecus are a pain because their a bit too smart. But this looks to be a tq on demand protocol which should work.
As long as it's EFI, it should.
Never thought I'd see a Holden Cruise 2 stepping and shooting flames 😂😭😂
😅Not only can a Honda do it, but a Cruze too lol
@@cmattdabrat I think neither should 😂😂😂
Unless it's turbo, then go for gold 👆🏼😂
@@s4ss.m8 lol...
What if you have a cabld throttle?
As long as it has a TPS it'll work.
Bring it to Import Face Off, Would hurt some feelings in the drag, and in the 2 step competition
Would be fun! Next one in TX will be in Nov...
Any idea on why my clutch says it's down when. It's actually up I can't figure it out.
Might need to inverse it. There's a checkbox to do that.
I watched the entire build series on the channel I never saw u explain why ls coils never worked?
I can tell! LOL, I'm having a hard time keeping up with comments. I set the setup aside before I got around to troubleshooting it. Now I'm having to start over because it walked off. Have no idea where it's at in my shop. I'm also redesigning the mount so it'll be easier to access the plugs. Stay tuned. Just as soon as the parts come in from being cut, the LS coils are going on. Decided to get some OEM LS coils from the junkyard.
