I'm happy that he has finally returned. He has been talking about living in Africa since I was a child. I remember my mother talking about how he always traveled back and forth to Ghana. This is a great thing for him, especially in his senior years. I pray he has an amazing welcome home... Enjoy Mr. Stevie Wonder I know you'll be happy here.. I sure am.

I loved hearing his acquisition of Ghana citizenship because as an American, we know what's happening over here, what's happened in the past, and it's wonderful to me that someone with his wealth and status wouldn't become complacent and still feel connected to the mother continent. This puts him in a leadership position whether or not he cares, for others that say if Stevie Wonder feels good enough about this, then it's worth getting over my transition fears, and going for it as well.

Your School founder Quaque was unfortunately used as an ordained priest to help propagate slavery in Cape Coast. At the age of thirteen No African child in the day was qualified enough to be brought to England for any Education , let alone to Oxford. He was having challenges even with his own language on return. He was completely whitewashed, as an ordained priest, to help convince the Slaves to enter the Door of no return. He was an accomplice to the British slave trade. Ekow, it is uncanny, though you may not realise it, that you are doing a great job to reverse the unfortunate things your School’s founder did, that is, helping to bring Home and resettle the African Americans and African diaspora. Your name should be on the Statutes Cape Coast History.

Great mive for Stevie, one thing I want to say if he is granted citizenship, all the Diasporans should also be granted it too, not only the rich and famous, if Africa does things in this manner, then know that is showing favoritism, and it will be no different than the white slave masters who took the light skin negroes to be house servants and the dark skin ones to work in the outdoors.
If the president presented 5he year of return to black people, then why not provide those who bought land, building their homes perminent status?, why ever few months Diasporians need to spend money to extend their stays?, just dont sound or feel right at all....changes are needed, better it was stated that year of return was going to be a money making deal. These things are my perceptions and mine alone

Unfortunately that's the way things work sometimes. High profile individuals are sometimes granted citizenship, not just in Ghana, in many countries around the world. Governments have a right to do whatever they want with granting of citizenship. It has nothing to do with discrimination. "Search For Uhuru, " a black American CZcamsr was granted Nigerian citizenship, even though he had not lived in Nigeria but just visited. He's not even as high profile as Stevie.

The way some diasporas have been very disrespectful online about African countries I can understand why governments are hesitant to not roll out citizenship to everyone. If they are doing such things without citizenship imagine if they got citizenship what they would do. I've seen some people stir up unnecessary controversies, and yet these same people come back online asking why they can't get citizenship while others can like Stevie wonder..smh 😂

have and voice different opinions and what a wonderful thing. Like I said it is my option and yours may differ, that is the great thing about opinions.a And I will repeat it again and that is if government openly invited Diasporians home, then it should not matter if you are rich or famous, we are all humans under the teaching of GOD!. It was not only the rich and famous taking from the Mother Land... point, blank, period!!
As to AA, don't sum us or them all in the same basket, what if it is done to you? how would you feel? Did you know Africans have ventured in the America and also committed unthinkable crimes? and by the way I am a Jamaican born, American raised, so I have seen both sides if the coin.....be blessed!!

People can't come online ranting and being disrespectful to the country they are in and then later expect to get citizenship from that same country. The governments are probably watching and thinking why would they give citizenship to such a person when this is how they are without it. No government wants added unnecessary headaches.

Right I'm a diaspora too, and I shake my head when I see such people doing the most just for views creating all kinds of beef, not realising that there are actual people like us that genuinely want to get back to Africa and be a citizen. But because of these people they are now making it harder for us to gain it. I am seeing videos coming from Ghanaians questioning their government to stop this beyond the return programme because of the hate comments and videos done for clicks. My take on it, it may be one of the reasons why they aren't rolling out citizenships to everyone because most people are not coming to Africa with good intentions and you don't want them adding to the problems the country is already facing and that goes for other African countries too they are all watching the foolish antics of grown ups online
