- What happens when stubbornness meets innovation? Or is it that stubbornness breeds innovation?
I custom build a mechanized awning lift to retrofit a overland awning to my rack-less pickup.

I have to say that's pretty smart I need one!
Really clean build. Could see that going into production.
Hey, thanks for checking out my first video here! It's hard picking which video segments to highlight and which to show in depth.
Any comments would be appreciated - I already have plans for the next project brewing, and comments can help shape what I focus on in the videos!
I'm just gonna say it excellence. I love the design
Very cool!
I’ve been looking at different options for the exact thing for myself- thanks
Unbelievable. Man this is exactly what I have been looking for. I have been beating my brains in/out trying to find a way to raise and lower my awning (ARB Aluminum cased awning with deluxe room) which attaches to my Yakima roof rack system on my truck topper. I also want to be able to quick detach the awning from ARB awning mounts, be able to mount it off the back of my topper and not just the side all the time, and be able to attach it to my DIY Adventure Trailer. I have 4 of these scissor lifts in a box in my garage, doing nothing. This is without a doubt the best idea, build I’ve seen. I do not possess the skill sets necessary to do something like this, so I was about to thrown down $2,500 on a Topper ezlift system, but I have concerns there as well. A system similar to this would fit my need, with some adjustments so that I can move between truck and trailer.
I love this video, it is my favorite so far of ways to accomplish my need. As a disabled Veteran, I simply cannot load all that my hand anymore, it is too taxing. But if this was built, I could and would use it, allowing me to get out and do what I love and enjoy doing. Not sure if you would be interested in collaborating with me, on my project or not, but sir you have an awesome and genius idea and fix to numerous issues for many of us, not so young and able folks out here. Thank you for this video, and may God bless you. Job well done! Genius. Subscriber for sure. If YT had a favorite video button, this would be mine. Look forward to seeing you other work. Peace.
Super cool man , i wanted something like this for a long time n had some ideas but this is some next level stuff.... Superb
Very cool!! Wish I had the skills to make This 😮
Amazing job! I'm jealous
Can I get the information
it is very cool but how does it do in the wind
It works alright in light winds. Gusts are a problem because it it'll rock it back and forth kind of violently... which isnt great on mechanism's lower mounting channel. The awning arms have attachment points for string & ground stakes, I use those when the wind is feisty and havent had any problems.
How can we get?
You make it yourself 😂
