I would grind down the backplate that is preventing that arm from swinging 90 degrees. Assuming the fabric will allow for the extra stretch.
Very nice video. Thanks
I have the same rack on my Gladiator and just ordered this awning. Love the overhaul hd racks.
Yes! The rack has done so well for me🤙
I just purchased a Passenger Driver one I will be installing this coming weekend for our Arolight Trailer from Penticton, BC Canada.
I hope you enjoy it!!
Thanks for informative video.
Thanks for sharing!
I grind out a portion of the frame where it touches and got a flush awning in the back. Warranty void complete.
What did you grind to make it go flush. I can't see what I would grind.
@@adamkohnert8061 it’s hard to explain just open it up all the way and you’ll see
I would just grind the bracket that’s keeping it from extending more. By the size of that bracket you should be able to grind up to 1/2” without weakening it. It might even work just taking a 1/4” off.
I have the same rack and I’m on the fence between this and the yakima major shady! The yakima awning is on sale now for $750 also..
Oh wow I didn't realize that. I just checked their website and saw the sale. It must've started around the time the OVS sale ended because I definitely didn't see a sale when I was researching in April. If you end up with the Major Shady leave another comment and let me know how you like it!
The Yakima major shady looks like it has the same gap, it doesn't seem to square up all the way.
Have you used it in rain, if so, does it shed water or does it pool up
I just ordered the same Awning but on the passenger side. Interested to see if I have the same Gap. I will comment once I have it installed.
Awesome! Sounds good 👍
Well, mine has the same Gap. I can make it work but seems like an oversight.
Installed mine today. Definitely a design flaw preventing a full 270. I’m considering grinding down the plate where it hits. Did you come up with a solution?
No solution as of yet🤷♂️
Any tips folding it back up!?
I found a great video for putting it away. Search "How to Setup and Put Away the Overland Vehicle Systems 270-degree awning" on the Arkto Campers channel
Any updates or issues? Just ordered this awning for my ZR2 and mounting it on a KB Voodoo/Max Modular rack.
i have a ZR2 too with KB Voodoo VRS 18"...i may grind down the top part of the bracket to get it to swing jussst a bit further.
How do you like it ? Mine just got delivered today .
It does the job. Theres a few things im not a fan of. The stitching on the bag is coming out in a couple spots and the awning fabric is rubbing against itself within the bag, causing a small hole to develop. I contacted OVS because its only been 2 months 🤷♂️
Oh wow. I wonder if that happens to all of them or maybe you just got a bad one ?
@jayka2491 Not sure. I haven't gotten a solid answer. I friend of mine has their smaller awning and hasn't mentioned these issues though.
Does anyone know what the long neoprene sleeve is for?
I'm trying to find that out as well
It's for the tie back strap, so if it goes near painted vehicle body panels it eont rub the paint off...the strap goes inside neoprene sleeve
@@robertmwhidbey cool thanks
Have you tried moving the front plate a little outwards. Possible a couple of inches would fix this?
Same awning, same gap
Good to know. Thank you
That's a major design flaw
Agreed
