    Hey Joel just stumbled into your channel.
    Being a vetran runner off and on again for many years since the early 1980s I've seen so many running shoe models come and go and many trends get popular then fade away.Many Brooks I did try in years past seemed to be too roomy in the toe box and even in a regular size in my usual size I found it too roomy for longer runs in the tow box and felt it sliding around a little bit more then I care for....But what many viewers will want from your sincere hard effort of making this review is the basic stats such a weight,onces,stack height,milimeter drop ect..Thank you,Kalif🌙⛹️

    Brooks Hyperion Max are a great choice if you want one shoe to do it all. They do really well in wet weather, are EXTREMELY durable, 5k to marathon paces… they do it all.

    I've ran many long runs in Hyperion Tempos, but realized that I was being silly-- hence me now watching vids on the Max. I love my Tempos -- I have two pairs and another on the way, so I really think I'll love the Max's too. Thanks for the video!

    Just ran my first 10K in the Hyperion Max and they were amazing! I don’t use them as a daily trainer (I use Hoka Clifton 9) but these are my speed and race day shoes.

    I love this shoe!!!!lightweight and responsive. With the bevel heel and 8mm drop it forces u to land midfoot/forefoot to be more efficient. I’ve never felt anything like this.

    I have both. I do daily runs and uptempo runs on the Hyperion Max. Tempo and long fast run at marathon pace on the Superblast. Both are fantastic shoes. I snagged the Hyperion Max for $60.

      Oh awesome! Would you say they’re pretty close or nowhere near each other?

    • @Ben-yw8be
      @Ben-yw8be Před 8 měsíci

      No way. 😂 The Superblast is more fun and bouncy. It’s quite a fast shoe for such a high stack. I actually consider it a “supershoe” without a plate. If they make Superblast 2 @ 40mm and without a plate, it would be a killer. It’s hands down my favorite shoe this year. The Hyperion Max is quite a good daily trainer and uptempo shoe. Quite a rolly ride almost effortless. A bit firm but very stable. It’s also fast rebounding like the Superblast but not bouncy.

    Definitely a great shoe. And very durable and not as hard as the You Tube community was saying. Not everything has to be a Hoka

    Love this review as this is the shoe I’ve been waiting for. Carbon plated shoes are very bad for people with Achilles tendinitis and injury (10 years later I realized my carbon plated football cleats were largely responsible for my initial tear). High hopes for these as a Change of pace shoe for my ON cloud eclipse’s!

    I'm still unsure of the H.Max after 100km. The midsole feel too firm/hard for everyday running, my feet felt hurt. The only usage I find it ok is hard reps. Secondly, the tongue keep sliding, super annoying. Tried everything from lacing in all in the loops, runner's knot, thick socks. Latest I tried changing the laces. I will run in it tomorrow after watching your video. Tq ❤😊

    • @timetorunchannel
      @timetorunchannel  Před 9 měsíci +2

      That really interesting about the tongue. I hope they work out for you. I’m still in love with the shoe being I’m currently at 270 km. I’ll be putting out a 322 km review here soon and I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for the things you mentioned. Thanks for weighing in 🤜🏻🤛🏻

      Hyperion Max and METASPEED Sky+ sweet spot must be easier to find. I’ve run in the Pro since the Hyperion Max and buying the Metaspeed Sky+ and it still doesn’t deliver imo.

    i never had brooks. how is the midsole compare to lightstrike pro? that's my favorite midsole because of the balanced firmness and bounce, though saucony uppers fit me the best. i have superblast and i can't see what the hype is all about, midsole feels like regular eva but lighter, not worth the price.

    • @timetorunchannel
      @timetorunchannel  Před 9 měsíci +2

      I feel like Lightstrike Pro and DNA Flash are very similar to each other, at least demonstrated in the Hyperion Max, not so much the Hyperion. It's not really squishy like a lot of ASICS' midsole foams. Tempo sessions and otherwise most of my daily miles are really nice in these. The Hyperion Max is my favorite daily trainer for the year if that helps.

    I need a pair of Brooks shoes for gym and daily use. Price is not an issue. Hyperion Max or Adrenaline GTS 23 ?

    • @timetorunchannel
      @timetorunchannel  Před 3 měsíci

      Hey Amandeep.
      Firstly I’m fairly certain Brooks themselves would say their shoes are very running specific, and only some of their shoes could be used dusky for some cross training purpose. It also kind of depends on what your gym routine looks likes.
      But as far as your question… the Hyperion max is a neutral shoe that’s really only good for running.
      Whereas the Adrenaline is a stability shoe. An equivalent to the Adrenaline is the Ghost, the same but is neutral.
      The Hyperion Max isn’t something I would take to the gym unless I’m ONLY going to do running. It leans closer to tempo day to ensure you’re able to meet your prescribed paces. Lifting/strength training is 100% out of the question for the Hyperion Max. The stack height is too high and if you’re doing a lot of lateral/side-to-side movements I’d say this might not be the shoe you’d want either. It’s very running specific.
      The adrenaline / ghost would be better hypothetically for more cross training, but I’d still rather go barefoot for squats, deadlifts, and really most barbell/leg movement. And the heel stack height might make for some instability. I’d get a shoe that has less cushioning for lifting and lower center of gravity. Many people get something closer to the Metcon or TYR lifting specific shoes because they tend to have multiple use cases within the design.
      Hope that helps!

    How do these shoes go for long runs? I've been using my Saucony endorphin speed 3 for nearly everything but I'm after something for long runs. I love the speed 3's but find them a little unstable for my long runs.

    • @timetorunchannel
      @timetorunchannel  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Long runs were great! They do really well if you’re wanting to maintain a specific tempo during long runs and comfortable enough for higher distances. I did most of my long runs during my last marathon training block in these. They were perfect

      @@timetorunchannel How are you feeling about the Hyperion Max 2's that are coming out this July? More of a stack and now with a plate. I kinda like the fact that these Hyperion Max shoes have a lower stack height and non plated for training at least.

  • @UFRooster

    How many miles did you get on them and how much do you weigh?
    I’m 210 and the first 10 mile run I chewed up the rear lateral pad. I set them aside as my race day shoe but wish I could train in them more.

    • @timetorunchannel
      @timetorunchannel  Před 6 měsíci +3

      I’ve put 180 miles in them thus far. During most of those logged miles I weighed about 210-215lbs. I began to drop weight to around 190-195 lbs around the last half of my marathon training block. I’m also a midfoot striker so there’s little to no wear to the rear rubber. There’s still not a significant amount of wear, considering the miles, to the lateral part of the rubber at the mid-foot though.
      Sorry to hear about the quick wear to the rear rubber. Hope that helps.

      @@fujidust76 after the race this weekend I examined the rubber and it doesn’t look worse, just that first 10 mile “break in” I guess wore off the outer-rear portion like his showed. I have 23.3 on them now and will just use them for training now. I’m trying shoes with carbon plates now. I do love how light and aggressive the Hyperion max are though!
