From vague idea, to shitty sketch, to shitty self-taught 3D model, to AMAZING professional product. That's the Hello Disc story.
I've never felt more destined and called to do something than make this product a reality. Thanks to the Hello Cup team who saw the vision and shared in my belief that a more accessible, easier to remove menstrual disc was possible.
I wanted to remain true to my continued efforts of education and advocacy which meant "not making my own brand." Not to mention, I would have no clue how to even begin. Hello Cup took my solid concept, married it with their design and manufacturing expertise, and somehow, despite the immense challenges that arose, made it a manufacturable product. It's beautiful and they truly brought it to life.
To be one of the first people to get their Hello Disc you'll want to back our Kickstarter: go.period.shop/HelloDisc

I’m designing a menstrual disc for a project in a class at school, and it also has a loop. This just proves that they are definitely needed on the market! I’m so excited to get my Hello Disc.
CONGRATULATIONS! I'm absolutely pumped for this. If I may make a suggestion: I saw on the kickstarter that you were looking at possibly a blue color. I personally would love a darker teal. Something classic and neutral. Don't get me wrong, I love bright colors but I find the darker makes stains less noticeable. Also it would be one more thing that makes it a bit different from the rest. Best of luck!
That dark teal is my top choice for the main color ;) A few things about the disc mean a lighter color "wins" but I believe Hello Cup will be able to offer multiple colors, including darker tones, in the future. Especially if this disc is successful. I'm glad you're loving the design!
I would love this if it came in smaller sizes! I used the Lumma small because none of the other discs can stay tucked for me.
As a Cora disc user I love the comfort, but I do have issues when taking it out. The pull tab loops on your disc look more assessable. I’m so grateful for your contribution. Congrats, darling! 😊❤️
I love how thoughtful the design of the pull tab is!! The way a product is used by its users in different ways makes it so special. Can't wait for this to be available worldwide!
Thank you so much. We really did work hard to solve a few key issues that weren't addressed by other discs. And for those who need a smaller diameter the great news is that other brands have a few options, perhaps one day Hello Disc will also. Really excited about seeing people finally get to buy/try it early next year!
I recently started using cups (and love it) but also have been wanting to try a disc since I found your channel. Proud to back you Kim and this product, I know it will be amazing!!
Congrats. This will definitely be the first disc I will ever try because I hated the idea of having to dive into my vagina to break a suction or deal with messy fingers in a public washroom. Thanks a million.
You are such an incredible woman! I started using menstrual cups because of your videos and it has been such a game changer. I cannot wait to try the Hello disk now
♥️ I can’t wait for you to try it either!
This looks so cool I backed the Kickstarter before even getting to the end of the video! The Hello Cup low cervix models have become my go to cups for light and moderate days and I can't wait to try this one!
This is exciting! I have been watching a lot of your reviews for cups and discs for a while now, and to be honest I have not gotten a disc to work for me yet - but I LOVE my cups so Im still a happy camper :) Either way, I put my order in for the campaign because I believe in what youre doing and the focus you have towards being both functional, and accessible. I wish you and Hello much success! Congrats!!
this is SO exciting!! I'm so happy for you!! I hope once it gets going that it will come in a smaller size for me and women with smaller bodies and also pelvic floor disorder.
I'm so happy for you!! I can't wait for the review!!
I got my hello Disc some days ago and started using since yesterday and it was extremely comfortable on insertion compared to the Lumma i felt like i was in cloud 9. Thanks Kim!
Wich luma size did u used?
@@jenioprisa4026 Large was too large was not staying in place and then tried the M which did not fit properly either
I’m IN! So excited to support the kickstarter!!! So happy for you Kim!!
Kim I am so excited ! You gave me the courage to try a disc for the first time this month. I went with the lumma because I was quite afraid of reaching it. I ultimately cut the string off because it was really irritating. The idea was there but not quite. This design is amazing. I can see how it would help so much with removal and also help others get into discs, especially if they don’t want to get messy or afraid of how to remove it. This is going to be amazing. I’m so excited ! Backed and can’t wait !
as someone who used a disc for the first time last month, i was instantly in love, but a little concerned that the only way i was able to reliably remove the lumma was with the tail, but i was also hyper aware of the tail the entire time i was wearing it...... this looks incredible and i went to the kickstarter link almost instantly. I'm so excited for this!
Congratulations on your achievement! 👏💐I am convinced this is the most thought through disc ever 😄👌
I had to come back and say... Kim you & Hello cup freaking did it! I finally got to try my Hello disc and lets just say its absolute perfection to my body! No mess removallllllll WOOT WOOT! the tab is perfect. Screaminggg THANK YOU :) :)
Congratulations I'm really glad you made a product that you personally love and I love your honesty ❣️
This is great! Seriously so happy for you & excited try it. Definitely backing this.
This sounds like a dream come true, an awesome product I would really love to buy!
So excited for this! It’s even better than what I expected, but I knew it was about a new disk! There’s not a lot of options in the market, so super Yay! Thank you so much, Kim. I never really knew much about disks until you talked about their advantages. I never considered that I didn’t have to put up with the lengthy challenge of adjusting to how I use my cup every cycle. I just found my goldilocks cup two cycles ago, but I am surely going for a disk in the future >< let’s reach that goal!
I’m so freaking excited!!! I went to kickstarter to IMMEDIATELY back it before your video was even done! lol
I love discs. Backed the Kickstarter! So excited to try this!❤️
I’m so excited about this! I hope there’ll be different size options eventually! The Lumma medium size fits me perfectly, whereas I tend to auto dump when I sneeze or laugh too hard with other sizes.
Watching your channel a few years back gave me the knowledge and reassurance I needed to use a menstrual cup. I thought it was neat to have no waste, after years of using tampons. I loved and used it about a year. Like you mentioned in this video about the suction and personally not being comfy fiddling too much in there. I ended going back to tampons. After watching your videos on menstrual discs, I had to try it. I came to trust your honest reviews and visual diagrams. I'll never look back after using a disc, and can't thank you enough. I ordered a few things from Period Nirvana recently. Congrats with this disc you have created! Can't wait to try it out!
I can’t wait to get one I’ve been waiting for the day that you finally got to design a product I just know it’ll be awesome!
Thank you so much for the content you are sharing. I feel so happy and excited after using hello low cervix. I might give this one a try after a couple years. My thumb joints are too bad some days, and pinching for removal is the hard part for me. Removal with one finger sounds appealing 😃.. Thank you again. Learning curve made easy by your content
Your videos helped me decide on and buy my first disk and I love it. I have backed the Kickstarter and I can’t wait to try it too!
Soooooo excited about this disc & GREAT news! I switched to disc after watching your reviews of the alumna and tried it last month - loved it but I had some issues. I have a high cervix and needed the silicon stringy piece but it would bother me. This looks perfect! Can’t wait to get one! 🤗
Not even into the second minute and I just wanna say I'm happy for you Kim 😊
I'm so excited - I backed the project, and I can't wait to try it!
I can't wait!! I backed it instantly when I saw you on Instagram! I can't wait to get one! 🤗
This is so exciting! I really hope the project gets funded
This is the coolest thing ever! Congratulations!!! I’m so glad I found you BTW, I’ve missed you over on PACII.
I'm glad you found me as well! This is where I will be staying :)
Congrats on this amazing product! Can't wait to try 😍
I’ve only tried the disposable discs and didn’t love them because of the hard edge and no other discs spoke to me. But the finger tab on this one intrigued me into backing it because that one reason I love my Merula OS, the ladder system I can loop my finger in for ease of removal since I can get carpal tunnel
And without a suction this should be even easier for you 🤞 I really hope this is amazing for you!
Hey Kim! You may not ever read this but I am one of your followers that while I no longer have a period due to my IUD, I still LOVE watching your channels and keeping up with all the new products and info you have to offer.
I started following you back when you were doing Put A Cup in It, and your channel and website allowed me to find my Goldilocks cup (pixie, short, sm), and my Goldilocks disc which is the Lumma small. Both made a huge difference in period comfort! When someone is suffering with endometriosis and severe period pain since puberty like I did, the smallest relief in discomfort can be everything. Thank you for all the work you do in this!!
Much love from Louisiana ❤️
I signed up for the Kickstarter. Can’t wait to try this product😬I just started using a disc on my last cycle and thought the taking it out part was kinda hard. This one seems to make it easier and cleaner, which I’m all for
Been interested in discs. I just started using cups and love them but removal can be scary sometimes.. love the design seems easy to remove thank you congrats too 😺❤️
Congratulation! I wanted to try a Disc for some time and I really like the hello low cervix cup. So I had to backed the kickstarter .
Purchased, thank you!
I have Lummas and I had to cut the “tail” off (I am super sensitive, which is why tampons with their scratchy strings were a no-go), and I leave it in for the max 12 hours (auto dump in between) but removal is unpleasant. There’s nothing quite like a flow of hot blood over your hand, dripping on the toilet and sometimes the floor when you’re trying to go wash your hands. Unsettling, to say the least.
I love the Merula ladder for removal (unfortunately the cup itself didn’t work out), and this tab reminds me of that, so I’m excited.
Can’t wait to get this!!
I came across your videos a couple of months ago and am trying the Lumma in medium for the first time now coming straight off tampons and pads based off your recommendations. The string did bother me, so I trimmed it, then ended up trimming it off completely. Let me tell you...massive mistake! I ended up in crying panic in the shower because I could NOT get the thing out! My amazing husband did the honors for me (much longer fingers) but I will NEVER do that again. Sooo...that being said, I am feeling complete ridiculous pride in you right now. I know you worked like crazy for women like me who you don't even know but who have learned more about our vaginas in one video by you than we ever knew before (and I have 2 kids, thank you very much). I can't wait to order my Hello Cup not only to make my life easier, but to support you in your awesome endeavor! Thank you, Kim!!
I just preordered and I’m so excited to get mine!!! I agree with some of the comments to make a darker color.
I’ve never backed anything on Kickstarter and recently started using a disc due to getting an iud after years of being a cup user. I had a lot of trouble getting it out due to my anatomy changing a lot during my cycle. I am so excited to try this and be a backer! Changing the disc game!
Congrats!! So excited for you!
I am curious if you'd make a video on discs for a tilted uterus?
Definitely buying one when they are released! I would back the kickstarter, but I’m having some financial issues right now. I start a new better paying job next week though so when it comes out I will snatch one up!
This is amazing, well done!
I’d be so excited if this ever came out in a smaller size in the future! I use the lumma disc small and really like it- medium created so much pressure for me and made me super nauseous. It’s a shame that there aren’t more discs available in different sizes on the market!
Still, I’m super inclined to try this because I use a hello cup during the day and it’s just the best! The lumma disc is great too, size and design wise (I definitely need a tab or a string because although I have a low cervix, I have the deadly combo of super short fingers and long nails lol) but I’m really not crazy about the material.
I've been wanting to try a disc for a while but, hello, high cervix, here 👋🏻so this sounds perfect for what I'd be looking for! And it's cheaper than most discs by backing it early?? yes please!
I...just bought the lumma...AHHHHHH
Btw this looks great and I'm super excited for it! When you pull it does it fold the sides to keep them from pushing as you take it out? I have that problem where I need to push it hot dog style or it hurts to remove
Congratulations on your collaboration! I had a feeling you were working on something special. I am also very sad that I am not able to purchase the disc as my country is not on the Hello websites list of countries the ship to. It is quite fustrating. A shame really...
Currently waiting for these to get back in stock and ship. I preordered one and I’m so excited to try it as my first disc 😬
happy to be able to back the project! i am excited for this im glad i havent bought a menstrual disc yet
I’m excited and want to have my hand on that item!!
10 minutes into the video I went and pledged on kickstarter. 😂 I cannot wait to try this. Brilliant!!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
And you still had 12 mins remaining! I’m not a brief person lol
Congrats, Kim! I'm in Indonesia so it'll take so so much longer for me to be able to get it, but I really really want to 😭 I hope you'll launch it asap and distribute to Indonesia 👍
Congratulations!
Yay! I can get behind a design like this! I just backed this Kickstarter and can’t wait to test it out and review it in the future. Thank you for your innovative product that will hopefully bless many vaginas in the near future. Also….I would love a purple option…it’s a good in between color of both blue and pink and should appeal to more people.
not sure if discs are right for me as autodumping sounds like more of a bug than a feature for me haha but the kickstarter is cheap and the disc looks beautiful so i think this is my chance to give it a try! (would love to see direct comparisons with other discs' sizes and diameters etc. if possible!)
Congrats!!!
Its like to top of a soda can and then the plastic loops that hold a 6 pack in place. Very neat!
I’m so proud of you! I love your analytical mind and I know you wouldn’t put out a product that you don’t believe in. Excited to get my Hello Disc!
This is great! I'm a high cervix gal who's wanted to try a disk.... but am way too worried it would be way too difficult to reach. This has a drop down option that seems amazing!
So that's your design?? No wonder it looks promising😍 I just recently bought a generic disc and if it works for me....I will save money to buy the hello disc❤️ from someone who has years of experience in this field, I have trust in you and your products. Hopefully discs works for me. Congratulations on your collab! 😍❤️
thank you!
Are there future plans (obviously after it's fully launched) to add a smaller size version?
It’s been discussed as a down the line possibility. Hopefully this does well enough that adding a smaller size is an option for those who need it.
How awesome! What is the firmness of the rim compared to other discs that are currently on the market? Does your product make insertion easier? For me, I find it necessary to have something much firmer when inserting in terms of discs. Looking forward to trying out your product.
It’s not as firm as Flex or Soft disc but pretty firm. Makes insertion easier. It’s closer to Lumma and Cora
Dang I wish we could get them in Europe too!!! :(
I now NEED that disc!
I was super excited to back this!! I do love the softness of nixit, how does this compare? It looks a little more firm in your video, could a softer version be a possibility? Colors I'd like to see - teal, lavender, pink.
(My fave combo is nixit and bambody)
Agreed lavender or teal would be great
We shared a color test photo on Kickstarter. I’d love to see a purple myself ♥️
What's the diameter and will you have multiple sizes? The lumma medium fits me perfectly but I would love to have an alternative that's easier to remove and maybe higher quality silicone than the lumma
The diameter is 68mm!
@@dancingdivazriooo thanks for this! I looked up some other discs and it seems to be right between the Cora (65mm) and the Nixit (70mm) in size. I haven't tried either but hopefully this will help somebody to know!
I'm about to try nixit for the first time next cycle but I still went over and pledged halfway through the video. Excited to try this one too! 🤞
Nixit is a great disc also and super smooth. I have love for all of them ♥️
Same 😂
would love it if you can compare it to other discs in terms of size. i find that soft disc is too big so i wonder if this is slightly smaller, because that would be great
How is the firmness of the disc? I really want to try a disc but I am very sensitive. I have a Saalt Soft small and I love it. The rims of the disc are soft as the saalt soft or are firmness? Also, I really want a gray disc I do not want it to stain it 😅 Congratulations on your design 🤗
I like that it is a loop amd not a string. Strings bother me but loops don't. I use the merula smaller size and i dont even feel the loop! But the lumma discs,,, those strings ive cut off because they bothered me and there was no adjusting with them.
This looks amazing. I’ve been a cup user for a year or so but really interested in trying a disk after following your channel. Do you know of the Hello Disk will be available in the uk?
Me super excited going to back the project no even 5min in, doesn't ship to Portugal 😭
How does it compare to Ziggy with rim firmness and softness of the body which holds the fluid?
And will that be available in UK? I would like to support it and sign up to early bird offer, but not sure if it will be posted to UK.
Very excited about this product, well done Kim :) x
I wish it would come in a smaller size
So excited for something reusable designed with disability friendliness in mind!!! 😍😍😍
May I ask: has this disk been tested by those with grip issues, like hand weakness, clawed fingers, or arthritis? I'm honestly super curious about the results. I have these kinds of issues, and so I'm super curious to know, and also very hopeful that this could be the thing that finally helps me leave pads and tampons behind.
Blue colour is very pretty :)
I orbit around idea of disk- cups never was an option for me-for a realy long time. My first attempt was Ziggy (first one on the polish market as far as I know). I buy it aaaand I never use it. I'm disabled so vision of impossible to grip disk full of blood it wasn't great for me.
Hello disk has that loop and for me it was so very useful. I'm already past my period and my first period with Hello disk was quite successful. No leaking from the get-go but I have to say I feel it all the time and is big. I need morectime with it but I'm optimistic.
Is it going to be available for worldwide purchase? I backed the kickstarter because the whole concept is so amazing, it's precisely what I was looking for, but I couldn't "pre-order" the product because I live in Europe, so I was wondering if that is going to change, once the product is officially launched.
Congratulations on this great achievement, by the way, you totally deserve it!
Due to certain shipping/import regulations it may not be available in every country. Hello would have a better answer. I’ll send them a note to add this info to the Kickstarter FAQ
@@PeriodNirvana do you have info on the retail price? I want to start saving up! I possibly can only order it via amazon.
@@pprraapparra it’s $32.99 US. Check helloperiodco.com for shipping since I believe they ship to several EU countries. The disc is now taking preorders
I've been a disc user for 20+ years, and recently started trying some of the reusables to be more mindful of my environmental footprint. I believe that I have some unique experiences and perspective on each, but what I would like to know is how the material expected for the final product compares to Nixit and Luma?
The material with be an average firmness silicone so I imagine the disc will be rather middle of the road. This disc Will probably be best suited for those who find the Nixit a tad too flimsy but dislike the firmer rim of the Flex It'll be very similar to the Lumma. This disc seems to be like a mashup of all the best aspects of the resuables already on the market:
This might be the first kickstarter I ever back
Well now I'm glad I didn't check out yet 🤣🤣🤣. . . Must change my cart items up!
CONGRATS! I'm SO excited for this and backed the Kickstarter already. Can't wait! 🩸✨💞
Thank you! I’m so excited for you to try it!
I hope it fits for me. I have a low cervix. Lumma small works best and lumma medium sometimes worked for me
I preordered it on the shop. Do you know the timeline for when it’s coming?
I have 2 hang ups with this. One it's not made here in the USA. I'm the wife to a Veteran sending money overseas is a big thing for me. 2 we're paycheck to paycheck if I forget I pledged money and it comes out it could overdraft our account.
I've never used a cup or disc. This is the first one I've seen that seems like it'd be a good fit. I'm very reluctant to pledge for the reasons above. And when it comes out the 49.00 price point it's cheaper for me to keep using disposable products. I spend less than 3.00 a month because I buy in bulk, or clearance.
It's not made in the USA because she made it in collaboration with a New Zealand company. Why would that be a bad thing? The price is not 49 USD, it's 49.99 NZD which is about 34 USD. And if you back it before the early bird deal ends (in the next 45 hours), you get it for $24 USD and free shipping from New Zealand. It's actually a brilliant deal compared to pretty much any other reusable period product
Reallyyyy wish to have one of these for myself but just realised it’s only shipped to certain countries when I was about to back the project :( (I’m from Singapore) hope it would be made more available in future once it’s launched!
I hope it's available in more countries at the retail launch! But, menstrual products are "medical devices" which comes with a lot of red tape for exporting/importing.
Mess-free disc removal?! Yes! Is the rim size same size as the cora or wider like nixit/flex disc?
6.8cm
This looks so good! Hope to have more colors. Also, how big is that? Bigger than cora would be a no for me :(
It is slightly larger. 68mm
This looks great! How do you back the kickstarter? I clicked the link but didn’t see anything about filling out anything
The Kickstarter has concluded but retail ordering will be an option VERY soon period.shop/blogs/period-shop-blog/hello-disc-buy You can sign up to be notified when we start taking retail orders from Period.Shop. If you're not in the US check Hello's own website
Will the hello disc come in dark colors ? Also is this good for very heavy periods ?
😻 this is genius
Omg omg omg🤩🤩🤩🤩oh goodness now I need to get out my wallet 😩😩😩😩I’m so excited about this!!!
Me too! Still!
May I ask how is the firmness/softness? I never use the disc before and really wanna try one.
It is "firm" in the rim which is nice to help get it inserted and into place with ease as a new user. Unlike cups, firmness has less or a role in comfort and most users won't even notice the firmest cups in their body due to where it sits.
How long is the tab? My cervix is very high and I’m wondering if it’s long enough for me to reach.
Also, you probably don’t know yet but will the disc be shipped to Germany in the future?
Hello ships to Europe so I really hope so.
@@paleyellow802 oh thank you, that’s good news
I want to try a disc but idk how to find my pubic bone, if you have a video on how to find your own internal anatomy I'll gladly support this. Your videos helped so much when I wasn't able to get my first menstrual cup out was close to a panic attack
Bought mine ❤
This is brilliant!🤩😊 Well done! I went to Kickstarter straight away, checked the shipping to the UK and ....not possible 😥😥 Feeling left out here...🙁
the shipping zones are unfortunately out of our control. It would be worldwide if it were possible, we obviously want everyone to access it. When it launches to retail the hope is that it's available to more places. No regions are being left out on purpose, it's just the nature of shipping costs and regulations. Brexit has also complicated UK issues
@@PeriodNirvana thank you for the reply. Fingers crossed for the futue. By the way, I absolutely LOVED the prop you used around 3rd minute into the video. Makes so much more sense when the walls of vagina are represented as a stretchy fabric (mesh in this case). Can see exactly how the walls of vagina adapt and create space for the disk. Brilliant! It often puzzled me where all the "space" is in there. Especially because I can go past my cervix (it ain't at the end of the canal like most descriptions suggest), so using the mesh gives a much better picture. Love it, thank you. You are amazing!
@@katrinao4872 I broke that model already but I'm trying to redo it!
