  • Here is just a quick video to show my first time taking the 2023 Honda XR150L out in the country and toca local camp ground Camp Myeerah. It was the first 60 degree day of 2024 in Ohio, and I am out riding slow and getting use to the clutch more. As soon as I'm around 500 miles or more on this bike, and more even more comfortable than I already am on such a simple light bike... I plan on taking my dog on the back and with me on short rides and low speed adventures. He is in training now, and getting more and more use to it daily. Please subscribe to ‎@EbikesandMore to help build and support the channel. thanks for watching! #honda #xr150l

    Watched all your videos on this bike bud, Love to see a fellow biker who just loves motorcycles and motorcycling. Just got my xr150l a little after Christmas and only had time to put about 50 miles on it thus far. I have several bikes but this has already became one of my favorites! I put a front hitch on my truck and now I haul my xr150l while towing our camper. It's a great little campground motorcycle! Two things I would recommend: swap out your main jet to a .115 (20-30 minute job) to help the bike run a little richer, therefore cooler and longer lasting. Other thing is, turn down your idle a bit to where it is barely running or so, helps it run cooler and makes cold weather starting much easier! Definitely want to see Bron riding some soon with his googles on!

      Thanks for all the info and advice man! I have for 3 straight rides turned it a half turn down and it definitely has lowered the idle each time. But yeah it needs a turned down a little more, but unless it was very warmed up it wouldn't stay running any lower. So yeah I was going to consider replacing the carb, or I've already got a rejet kit and I have that size already... I will definitely put miles on my XR150L this year... but I do have big plans for myself and my family riding with me this year on Ebike's! I got my whole family electric bike's for Christmas this year, and look forward to getting them out more and hook to riding like me! Bron is still gaining more confidence with the bike, and getting use to being up that high. But very soon we will be riding places like this together! Thanks again for watching and have fun riding!

    Definitely turn that idle down. I got the same bike... love it! I'm looking into changing out my main carb jet to the 110. Stock is 105. Sea level good here in Oklahoma for it. Suppose to give a noticeable jump in power without killing your awesome fuel mileage.

      The dealership or factory had the idle up, and I've sense adjusted it. I'm in Ohio and it was very cold when I bought, and any lower it wouldn't run or start at all. I might rejet, or get a new carburetor and then rejet or adjust accordingly. But not sure how long I'll have this bike after I get me license with it I might upgrade.

    I like the looks of the stripe decals taken off and xr decal left on!

      Thanks me too. Wow, were those cheap decals, and very easy to just pull right off. Lol

      @@EbikesandMore I was gonna pull mine off too then saw yours removed and was like cool, now I can see how it would look. I like it, looks cleaner. Also don't sweat the lack of a fuel guage, that's what your tripmeter is for, reset the thing at each refill and you will know how far you have to go. Mine gets 102-107 mpg each time I checked so at about 150-200 miles I usually go ahead and gas up.

    Great video of this little bike. I love these little mini-motos. FYI, I have a Hawk 250 with a 300cc engine in it. None of these lighter bikes, even the ones with 300cc-350cc engines feel good above 60 mph on the road and it’s not just because it’s a 150. They all usually feel “sketchy” at > 60 mph because they are so light and aren’t aerodynamically set-up for speeds > @ 45-55 mph’ish. Thanks for putting out more XR150L content!

      Thanks for watching! I don't have the best cameras, and don't even have a wireless microphone or anything yet. And don't go out to make a huge effort or spend money into my video's... I just want to show people what I am working on or doing. I definitely want to stay mostly electric bike related, but this little bike is awesome and I am @EbikesandMore lol . I have been looking at small motorcycles for about 2 years and last year almost got a Hawk 250... but the guy was like a crack head or something and didn't actually have a title and was a weird situation. Lol or else I would've had Hawk 250 video's last year. Lol take care and thanks again for being nice and watching.

      @@EbikesandMore Yep, unfortunately, the cheaper Chinabikes tend to attract crack heads and trailer trash. lol However, once you work out all of the mechanical bugs, the Hawks (and bikes like them) are very reliable. I have over 15,000 problem free miles on mine.

    THANK YOU for the vid!! (As a non-rider considering my very first bike, your vid is a great help).
    One point of interest though, I've already watched "a few" vids on the XR150L, and your idle speed seems WAY HIGH. Is the choke partly on?

    • @EbikesandMore
      @EbikesandMore  Před 4 měsíci

      The idle has since been adjusted a full turn and a half, so the dealership probably turned it up because I'm in Ohio and it's cold. They really need rejetted to start better, or else you need throttle and full choke... then half choke will still die unless you give a little throttle until it's warm enough. Very cold blooded little bike, but once warmed up it's fine. Thanks for watching.

      this is my first bike too. got it in October last year. 600 miles so far. it’s been awesome to learn on. haven’t done anything to it other than change the oil. i’m in Ohio as well and it starts fine for me. if you follow the owners manual you’ll have zero issues.

  • @angieshuda
    @angieshuda Před 4 měsíci +2

    Great video! Have you noticed it getting less cold blooded now that you've put some miles on it or is it the same as your first start up video? Thanks!

    • @EbikesandMore
      @EbikesandMore  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Thank you and thanks for watching! Yes, it is starting up even without choke at all now. But it is also besides today being 30 and snow here in Ohio it's starting to warm up. I was going to rejet the carb, but it's starting up great now. I was worried at first, because as you can see I had to use the throttle way too much to keep it running. And now I have idled it down, and it's running great too!

    Great bike, so much fun. How did you attach the plastic basket? Does it rattle around at all as you ride?

    • @EbikesandMore
      @EbikesandMore  Před měsícem

      Thanks, and I ordered a 2 pack of black ratchet straps that don't have hooks or anything and just crosses through the ratchet and fastens. I weaved it through the basket and that I an extra large milk crate off Amazon. Works for groceries or taking my dog on slow rides.

    What did you pay for the bike? I keep seeing people posting videos calling it a sub 3000k bike. I was quoted 4200 out the door. I laughed and walked out.

    • @EbikesandMore
      @EbikesandMore  Před 5 měsíci +1

      That's what people aren't understanding. It is $2,971 msrp or whatever. Then taxes, title, document fees, and also most dealerships charge a fee or 2. One is $300. And also my dad went and got a quote that was 1700 or so more but it was because they added the warranty to his. I'm not going to pay like $1,700 for a warranty and service plan thing. So this bike could vary in price all over the country from $3,500 to $5,500 I've heard. I only got mine for $3,800 out the door because they took off a skid plate they said was worth $200. And that's it... this bike is cheap and they don't have any gap for much profit or to lower it until Honda gives them incentive to or they take a lose to bring in new models. So I'd say 4200 is perfectly fine. 24's are only $128 more but I haven't seen any out yet.

    • @kr03grunt
      @kr03grunt Před 5 měsíci +1

      @EbikesandMore I wasn't going to pay over 4 for the bike. Sounds like you got a better deal. I'm just going to wait until I get that deal. You're right about no one understanding because no one explains the details of the pricing.

    • @EbikesandMore
      @EbikesandMore  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yeah, to me it's weird because when I joined an XR150L group on Facebook and saw that people in States far away from Ohio and I think maybe Texas or somewhere they said a dealership charged them 5K and then I've heard people claim they got it for $2800 out the door (which doesn't make sense) so who knows if that 2800 guy is lying and who knows if the guy in Texas didn't realize about the warranty cost and stuff? So who knows... and as long as it's worth the price to you that's all that matters I guess. But at this point yeah they should be able to do 23 at my price 3800 cash and if they can get to around 4k for a 24 I'd say good deal.
