Really love this map video. Wish you could do the same for your other major trips. Would like to be able to see the routes you took.
Some tripper will take them years to complete those route and you did it in a week. Very impressive!!!!
you guys are good for the soul
I love the way you summarized the trip with video superimposed on the map route. Brilliant. Would love to know what magic you used to get the trip line to move like that... Anyway, job well done! 😆
Thanks Paul! I used Adobe After Effects to animate the line on the map. There are lots of videos on youtube on how to do this. It was way easier than the previous times I had tried to do it in Adobe Animate and do it frame by frame...We hope to include maps in our future videos also
@@NorthernScavenger Thanks for the tip... I'll look into it!
I have done almost all of your trip, but never consecutively. Awesome journey boys. Brings back many memories. Thanks for sharing.
Man you guys are champs!! What an epic adventure!!
You guys are hardcore. No disrespect to other CZcamsrs but you are far and away the best outdoors/bushcraft channel. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the love Urban Outdoorsman
pretty darn amazing guys. At 65 I'm watching your vlogs with my trusty old 1970's "Grey Owl Cherry Wood Paddle" in my hands.
Just re watching and still love it
Loved seeing the route on the map with the videos. Gives us a great sampling of the various landscapes along the link.
Glad you enjoyed!
You guys are truly awesome and inspiring! Keep it up! Cheers 😊👍
Excellent video; thanks!
Mark Scarlett-
Thanks for a wonderful recap of the trip. Nicely mapped out. Should be helpful for folks who might think about doing it themselves. Certainly brought back lots of wonderful memories of our trip around the Link in 2011-12.
Nice! Glad to get some feedback from a fellow Linker! Cheers
@@NorthernScavenger Please note, this group included MarkinthePark, Jeffrey McMurtrie (former Jeff's maps, now Unlostify) etc. They blazed the trail for future meanies from the Big East up to McCraney Lake!!
Nice, loved the map following along with the route.
Great video! Really well edited. A nice addition to the trip videos
heavy! my back hurt watching that. A lot of seat time. Good work guys, I love that place.
Man you guys really covered some distance! Definitely motivates me to do more on my backcountry trips
great job lads,, Way to go!
Love from Portugal!
Wow and Bravo! That was a great video and looks like an amazing trip. Can't believe how much of the park you went thru.
Thank you! We still can't believe how much of the park we actually went through either haha
great idea, this should become a northern scavenger staple for the rest of your trips. rock on fellas
We will try to include maps where we can!
So Beautiful
Love it boys
Omg. You guys are now in the Algonquin history book! Literally they have a section about your trip!
Fantastic! Definitely added to our bucket list for Algonquin! How many hours did you guys pull on average each day, and did you just get the one food drop on Rain Lake?
A couple of mean lads you are. Good on ya boys! Imma get this one done one of these days.
Highly recommend the route, and highly recommend you take longer than 10 days to complete it haha
Good stuff!
Love your content as always guys.. Will there be a hot tent camping in Algonquin this winter?
There will be for sure! Stay tuned!
I really enjoyed and appreciate the map work! How did you do that? I wish at one end of the video you could have showed the entire trip on a single map. Keep up the great work! Really how did you do such a high quality map?
Thanks for watching. I also wished I had done the full map after I published it, have had a few people mention that now. The high quality map is from www.algonquinmap.com (Jeff's Maps). You can download the full wall map file which is what I used. The video was created using a combination of Adobe After Effects (map animation) and Premiere Pro for the final video.
Really good video guys! Keep it up, have you thought of doing the Nahanni river in the north west territories? would love to see your videos on that!
It is on our list for one day!
What ingredients go into the bantif bread lol I probably spelled it wrong
"Ambitious goals" you say;
"Chiropractic bills ahead," says I! XD
Seriously, though: impressive route! I can't believe you guys did the Dickson-Bonnefield in the dark! I have enough trouble trying to convince people to travel that route by daylight.
epic trip guys. Was it all freeze dried food for the trip
We had a lot of dehydrated meals, a mix of some homemade batches as well as a few store bought. We also had 2 food drops along the way which helped with weight in the barrel.
Very cool guys as always love your videos and store telling.
Currently I am in the middle of planning a trip from Lake Kiosk (in the north) to Portage Store on Canoe Lake (in the south). Maybe looking for advice at some point from you guys. PS if you want to join us shoot me a message. Looking at staring Monday of Canada weekend
Take only what you need. Invest in ultralight gear. Watch all 5he CZcams videos and see what they eat, use for cooking, portage etc
Chris, would be happy to help if you have specific questions. Feel free to shoot us an email. Sounds like a great trip and would love to join but we have some big plans coming up for this year and the timing would interfere. Best of luck and thanks for watching!
Great recap but very disappointed you didn't include all the Noah contact fails.
There were too many of them...didn't want it to slow down the video haha
You guys basically went for a 68 kilometer walk through Algonquin Park with a canoe on you head....yippy...no thanks. But it appears like you enjoyed it and that's what counts.
Who is Swifty?
Swifty is the founder of Algonquin Outfitters. This route was made in his memory and it connects the four Algonquin Outfitters locations (Huntsville, Brent, Opeongo, and Oxtongue)
Oh yes. It's Bill swift Sr. I did my research about the meanest link and found out about it. This is awesome, I have paddled a long time but this gets my blood pumping! I'm hoping to get my brother in and make the loop early may 19.
