Personally, I think there are too many gimmicky coming CZcams channels. Blahhhhh 🥱😴 It gets boring to see that so many channels just follow tiktok trends becuz they want fame and second comes quality of content. I don't want to blame them for trying to get their check. BUT it's just not for me. That's why I really doubly appreciate your channel. You're food is creative and delicious! You're so real, honest, and your approach to cooking is really enjoyable. Not fussy and unnecessarily complicated. But also, you learn how to make literally any dimsum and make it vegan! And you try new things! That's so cool. Plus anytime I need a meat replacer I remember your channel. You also take a lot of time to share your passion with us and your personality is so warm. 💙💙💙👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Appreciate you so much! If you love it, keep on going!
@@EastMeetsKitchen that's awesome! Keep doing you!
I love that you show us the regular things that you love not just the things that are flashy. Thanks for not being a sellout.
I'm totally amazed how much effort and work you put into this. You're quite the artist! You addressed personal integrity when it came to your channel and it reminded me of my favorite band. People told them they should change the name, change the singer, but they "stuck to their guns" and they did really great. Stick to what is best for you and the success to come will be even sweeter 🙂
@@EastMeetsKitchen I didn't want to name the band and make a free ad for them on your channel. However, to satisfy your (any anyone else's) curiosity, they are The Smashing Pumpkins. Billy Corgan is now a gluten-free vegan 🙂
You are such a kind and caring person. Thank you for allowing us a sneak peek. Please don‘t feel like you have to change something to please the algorithm. There are a lot of channels out there who do just that. We are here because of you and that you offer something different. Thank you. 🤗
While searching CZcams, I came across your channel. I immediately subscribed because of the "energy" you emit. It is true what you said, that you need to do you. If you tried to be anyone else, YOUR personality would dim like your daylight in England. Namaste.
Wow, so much work😐 Thank you for all your recipe Videos 💕
As a cooking channel, I can relate to everything you says! So much struggle that I stop but now Im thinking to film again no matter what it takes since cooking is my passion.
Thank you Christina, I really enjoyed this vlog, particularly where you were talking on camera to us. It felt really authentic and personal, which helps me connect with you as a person and I think that especially in the pandemic it's really appreciated.. Cheers!
Great video. I always knew you put so much work into each video, but now I know the extent, insane!! I love every video, and every recipe of yours I've tried has turned out AMAZING. Thank you so much for running the channel the way you do, and no matter where this channel goes I will be a lifelong fan!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Thanks for putting yourself out there Christine! With my wife being gluten intolerance you've given me great good ideas and inspired me to try different things. Continue the great work and stay true to yourself.
Thanks Christina, very interesting video! love the psychology part too. I always thought your videos had such a good flow and the lighting / shots felt really comfortable to follow. Can really feel your years of expertise in the videos imo. Will personally always be watching your channel and things!
Thanks a lot, this was very informative and intimate at the same time. The amount of work which goes into making a video is way higher than I would have expected. Thank you very much and keep up the good work!
Wow. !!!!! Ahhhh!!! So much work! Youre really awesome at this! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 appreciate your channel so much.
Thank you for the behind the scenes and your openness about CZcams anxiety. I appreciate the authenticity of your channel and doing recipes on your terms. You’re doing a great job! You’re good photography tips have really helped me in my culinary class 😊
Oh my goodness , I’m new to CZcams and there is so much to learn , thank you so much for this video and your honesty , beautiful personality !
Thanks for showing us all the behind the scene! It's so much prep work, camera set up and video editing. Much respect to you 🙏
You are doing great and I thank you very much for sharing all your knowledge in an interesting way.
Thank you for sharing your perspective. I am getting ready to film a cooking video for the first time and really appreciate an aesthetic feel to the end result, and your explanation of how you envision getting to that end result is most helpful.
Thank you so much for this. I have been wanting to start a channel for cooking but was concerned with how small my kitchen is and how that will effect videos. But you make amazing content in small space. Very inspiring, informative, and i love that you do it for you and your followers not just to rake in money. Food is about love of cooking and who are cooking for and that makes for a better video in my opinion.
Thank you for sharing Christina 🙏🏼 I got a lot of helpful tips and I wanted to say I feel you so much 😣 I’m a youtuber who also gets knocked down by comparison and the algorithms. Hearing you speak on focusing on the joy you get from creating your content felt supportive to my struggle too. You are amazing!!!!
Thank you so much for this video! I'm about to start cooking videos, too. My kitchen is pretty tiny and I'm not very happy about it, but your example gives me courage. Where there is will, there is space!
What a great video! Thank you for the inspiration and all those useful information! For me getting better in food videography is to keep learning and trying! I will absolutely try to implement some of your tips in my videos
This was SOOOO helpful to me who’s about to start this journey, thank you!!! I’d def be interested in seeing the editing process!
New food video CZcamsr here and I completely understand all the moments you mentioned that might make us want to give up. I see myself watching the whole process of you recording the food video while cooking. It is really not an easy process . So much behind the scene that viewers might never expect. I really appreciate this video as this makes me realize it is not easy for everyone. I love your style! and I'm sure it will grow along the way:) Good luck!!!!
I have often wondered how your videos are made. Thanks for taking the time to give us a behind-the-scenes look! 😊👍
Amazing. Keep up the hard work!
This was very interesting, and I have greater appreciation for how much trouble you go through for these videos! Thanks for letting us in on the secrets of your constraints and advantages of filming; the lighting and layout in the sun porch--now that I know what it is it seems very Eastern European in a way that's charming to me--is perfect for your videos. Lots of good decision-making here! : )

Thanks so much for this behind the scenes peek. So many great tips like a tight strap for a steady camera. I enjoy your channel because it’s not gimmicky and you bring so much unique and delicious food to all of us that we might not ever see. Stay strong and stay safe in 2020 ❤️
First one of your videos I watch... you are absolutely fantastic. Your candor is truly inspiring!
This is amazing, thank you so much for sharing your process.
I love your videos so much! Thank you for all the hard work
Thank you so much for making this!
Great insight!
Thx for your help and showing us your routine. I really liked.
You are right there is CZcams anxiety while shooting . For my cooking I simply take my daughter’s help for shifting angles .
Yes, I would love to see your editing process!
A brilliant video for someone like me who is just starting out. No bells and whistles just great information from a sincere person who clearly cooks with passion. Thank you for sharing this - I learned loads.
Wow just started a cooking channel and I could totally relate to stuff you're showing and saying! Thanks a lot for this video!
This was awesome to see! Thank you so much for sharing 👏👏👏
@@EastMeetsKitchen I did. Thank you!
This is awesome! I've been teetering with the idea of starting one myself but have beginners anxiety. I feel like i need to just jump into it lol!
I can relate to what you said in regards to your channel. I have felt the same way, wondering why I am not getting as much views as others, but I just continue trying my best. At times I do get down but I just remind myself be grateful for what little you have.
I do enjoy watching your videos and I have learned how to make many of the food items i ate as a child. I am not a vegan but I enjoy cooking for others and vegan recipes are safe for most people. Don't doubt yourself and stay true to yourself. Your genuinity shows through and is appreciated. Thank you for breaking it down and showing the reality of making CZcams videos.
I love your content and hope you get more views and subscribers! I appreciate the hard work you put into every video. 🙏
Great video! You really showed the "other side" of cooking vlogs.
I am new to CZcams and i learned a lot from this video and yes I know Having a channel, shooting and editing is really a hard work. Thank you very much. Keep sharing.
I like your transparency. Very attractive to me. I’m also wanting to make videos in the future.
Thank you for teaching...
Extremely Informative. Thank you
Luv ur honesty. Can relate to getting dark so early!
Thank you so much , your tips are really helpful to me 😇💖
So much respect for u! 👏🙏🏻
It’s impossible to list all your qualities that make this channel possible, but I’ll begin in the hope that you will use it as a bookmark to encourage you in your journey. Perhaps others will add their observations: extreme patience and dedication to your craft, an ability to multi-task creatively and gracefully, a true desire to help others while working alone to support yourself, an accomplished author and producer of a seriously worthwhile cookbook (no celebrity puffery in this book; I know; I bought it), a winsome way that endears you to people...and now for everyone else😁😀😀😀
Get yourself a suction cup mount for your camera. There are very solid 2 and 3 cup mounts usually used on the outside of vehicles and if you suck the camera to the windows you will eliminate the movement from the countertop unless the counters are somehow attached to the window. I made my own mount from a window lifter handle (usually used by window installers to lift the glass into place - home remodel/ hardware stores have these for little money and if you drill a hole through the handle and scew a ball head on you have a solid suction cup mount for around 30 bucks)
I loved your videos. Thank you for sharing all this knowledge and experience. I go through the same thing. It’s not easy doing everything by yourself. I love it. At the end, I love to see the end product. I’m not doing it for $. Just a hobby.👨🍳👍🏼
Thanks so much for sharing how to shoot cooking videos.
Been Looking for this For weeaks
Now am set to shoot better videos for my mom's cooking channel
Thank you for this
I am about to start my youtube channel. And I find your tutorial so detailed. Thanks so much for this video. Continue what you are doing. ❤
I am new follower here
Thank you so much for your tips and authenticity
Thank you for the tutorial... it's very helpful
Thank you this was so useful for me 💕
Wow what a pro its so far from my small cooking show haha. But thank you for sharing how you do your filming set up.
Thank you so much fr sharing good job..
Nice sharing..Thank you for the tips 😍
It’s very frustrating to cook and and record yourself at the same time and get them all right. Just started my channel and it’s really a thing. It needs vey good multitasking skills. If I wasn’t a pro cook I would really struggle. Keep up the good work! 👌🏼
Hi Christina, thank you for this amazing and detailed video for us. A lot to learn from you. I have question, Do you shoot on AM or MM on lens, or any other way? Please do reply :)
thank you.. for the tips I have a channel my self but capturing and editing is hardwork
Thank you for sharing an intimate view of how you make videos. My channel is a totally different category and a much smaller niche, but I can relate to 99% of your struggles! I really appreciate this video!
It's human nature to compare oneself to others; it's a social skill that evolved in humans to allow us to fit in to society and work together collectively. But the connectedness that the internet allows us today is a much larger scale of human interaction that we are only beginning to adapt to, so it is easy to lose yourself in this new world. I am always reminding myself that this CZcams thing is not just for the audience, but for me too. Some times you have to do content for yourself, things that inspire you or give you the mental boost, and not for the number of views. That'll help fuel you to make content for the views later. At least, that's how I think about this stuff.
I gave up on natural light. Recording during the day was just so difficult for me. I have kids at home, neighbor's gardener, delivery person ringing the doorbell, etc. I just decided to shoot at night when everything is quiet and use artificial light, and a lot of it. No more struggling with the Sun moving too.
Anyway, thank you for making this video! I wish you continued success with your channel! :-)
i like the way you make your video its very natural
I had the same problem with the camera holder you can try the overhead tripod which is similar to the boom arm for mics
That's pretty amazing. Do you use a 50 mm lens throughout the video? I'm using 30mm and considering whether to get 50mm or buying DJI pocket 2. Currently, I'm using 1 camera to recording, and it's quite a hassle, especially I'm in a humid country.
Love your video❤
Very fascinating insight into your videos and your thoughts behind them.
Makes me really appreciate more all the effort and detail you put in!
Love your narrations also! Keep up the great work :D
thanks that was very useful and real
Thank you for sharing
Yes is take time thanks for sharing
I love Akaso Keychain Camera 🍽️
*thank you so much for sharing this & take my love stay connected* 👍👍👍
your videos are the most beautiful cooking videos on CZcams.
Thanks for sharing your experience! do you find DSLR still better than the mirrorless camera when it comes to vlogging cooking videos?
Hi Christina maybe have a tub of water soap and towel on the side to wash and dry your hands instead of running back and forth to the kitchen. Its not absolutely clean but should work since theres no meat involved. Thank you for being super lovely and creative. I love your recipes most of my favorite things to eat so thank you so much. Lots of Love ❤
Well whatever camera that you using on this video right now I would love for you to give me the name of that camera that you're using to make this video because I sure would love to have a better camera than just be using my cellular phone really sucks because my cellular phone is not one of the best quality there is so if you couldn't give me the link or the name of the camera that you are using now I sure would love to get one of those
What do you think is the best camera profile for an overhead indoor cooking video with a continuous light? For example s-log 1, 2 etc?
Thank you for sharing, I just set up a youtube channel about food, I need more knowledge and flavors, I hope you will share more so that everyone can know more, I hope your channel will grow more and more. grow stronger
Hi Christina, I really appreciated seeing you raw and real and your process, because it allowed me to gain insight into your challenges and frustrations with how to monetize what you do and the difficulties of creating a profitable brand. I think, if you care to hear it, that you can still be genuine and authentic while growing your income from this channel. I think you'd benefit from not trying to invent the wheel and joining a community of online entrepreneurs and learning from someone who's demonstrated how to help content creators do that, would be very helpful to you. I would like to suggest Sunny Lenarduzzi's channel and Marley Jaxx's work. It doesn't matter what your topic or niche is, these principals will work for you. I do love your work and the integrity you bring to it.
How hard must it have been for her to shoot a video on how to shoot videos 😂😂😂💕
I like that you do you.
Please, mention the best brand for tripods for beginners, something with a good price.. thanks
So good
you are so sweet !

Hi, I just want to know about Chinese traditional food methods. Can anyone help me how to find it out?
Thanks for sharing such a great video.
#mangaloredelicacies
Because I have two CZcams channels I love doing my videos
How long does this whole process take for one video? From conception to preparing ingredients from filming to editing to completion to load on to youtube?
Thank you so much for your explanations.
I noticed your video has lots of ads. Could you speak about that? Do you agree to how much ads are within videos?
The world’s full of too many people trying to “game the algorithm” in their professional pursuits. Do good work, follow your interests, and contribute to the general good. Keep creating your art the way you want to create it. Also plug that Patreon!
East Meets Kitchen I respect that, but if you can make it sustainable think of all the good you can keep doing! Getting the word out about healthy, progressive, compassionate eating! I’m not the best person to ask since I use Patreon to support content creators based on what they’ve produced, not looking for perks. Maybe a few “secret” recipes, short extra posts, some cool pictures of food/London. You could release the blue-cheese cut behind a paywall!
