- I will be showing you how to shoot cooking videos using a phone for cheap. The goal of this video is to get you to shoot cooking videos with basic cooking videos setup for under $100.
I will also be showing my 3 different setups ranging from $100 to 450. With this setup, you should be able to shoot and record tasty style food videos for cheap. A lot of folks on Reddit and youtube ask me how I make my food videos so I decided to make this video. I go over 3 different setups at $100 vs $250 vs $450. You can decide which one is best for you if you wish to make food videos.

The last or shot number 3 is the best looking as it should be. But if you are on a budget, like you said go with shot 1 and upgrade as needed. This video was VERY helpful for me
so glad you found it useful.
Yeah that’s exactly what I wanted to show. I had to find out the best setup the hard way. But it’s ok :).
This is an amazing video ! so much needed for food bloggers like me .Thanks a ton 🙏🏼🙏🏼
A really valuable video showing the benfits and shortfalls of the different lighting setups. Thank you
Fantastic video in every way. I look forward to checking out your food vids. Thanks!

so glad you liked it. Happy to share :)
Thank you for this video!
Great information. Thank you
One of the most informative videos I have come across. I am a beginner and wanted to explore photography lighting. You have made it very clear with different kind of set up. It’s very easy for me to decide now. Thanks so much for sharing..
Glad to hear that! You are welcome.
Great work buddy 👍
This is an excellent video for someone like myself who needs guidance on where to start for a cooking/baking channel. Thanks for setup x the ninja at the end. I love the tile and that is cheaper than me buying an kitchen rolling island. Thanks again
Glad it was helpful!
I've been relying natural light to shoot, this is useful!
Last one looks the best 👍🏼
Thanks.
Great tip for beginners like me. My kitchen looks similar to yours. I like the third set up with first lighting. I think that will work for me best. Looking forward to more videos. Good luck to you. 🙏
Thanks for checking this out. Yep third setup with lights from first is the best if I had only known.
I did upload part 2 of this video so do check it out 😃
@@seanaslam Will definitely do. Thanks!
You did awesome making this video! Well done!!
Thanks :)
Oh man this is so great. I have an overhead phone mount but used it so stupidly haha wish I watched this earlier. Thanks for this vid. Gotta hand it to you, your vids are top notch now man. Big props!!! I gotta get to your level! Hope you been good Sean, all the best friend. 😎
Thanks Johnny. Glad that you found this video useful. And thanks for appertaining my video. I try to share knowledge as much as I can and be transparent. Planning on making more videos like this. 😀

Thanks man.
Really help ful
The side by side comparison is great. Price breakdown too. Thanks
You are welcome.
Thank you for sharing very helpful advice
Glad to do it. :)
Very informative video. I needed this detail video. My home has dark wood and yellow lights, no matter what I do. I try to record during the day but lately it's been gray sky no sunlight. I'm going to try number one. The most expensive is number 3. I might try them all. Thank you for breaking this video into sections. I truly enjoyed watching the entire video. Have a great weekend.😁👍
Thanks for checking it out :)
If you try #3 then you can’t go wrong that. The light is super powerful. I usually keep it around 40-50%. But even if that’s too dark you can take it up to 100% and it will be like morning lol.
This would’ve been a better comparison if you used the exact same background set up for each lighting option. Because the different backgrounds (wood color, cutting board, tile etc) also affects the lighting.
I already own the 250$ setup since I've been making videos.. but this video spared me extra money that I would've spent buying food photography backdrops w/ the DIY tips.. + great tip using the mic stand as a phone holder.. very helpful thank you! All the very best with your channel; new subbie 😊
Thanks ! I am glad to hear that my tips are useful :)
Awesome setup , now I know what to do with my lightning set up😂🙌🏻
Check my channel its so useful
I watched roney Joseph's videos on this microphone stand for CZcams and Instagram cooking video setup and I have been looking for a light setup to go with it.. thank you so much for this 🤗🤗
I am so glad that you found this video useful. 😀.
I’ll be making more content like this so stay tuned :)
can't wait, new subbie🤗
I had started for a few YT food videos and I found lighting is very important. Shooting is also kind of awkward thing if you have roommates using the same area for cooking. Taking video clips or shooting will be more convenient as early as 2AM I supposed whenever off from work. Editing follows easy when you have all the shoots you need. I usually pick cheap and used utensils from the value village. I think I really need to invest for affordable lights and props that is at par with those equipment used by the pro. Thanks for your DIY ideas.
That was exactly the point that I was trying to make. Hope you make great content !! If you have a choice of camera vs light. Definitely invest in lights first then camera.
I love your content, keep posting,
Thanks :). Will definitely make more videos like this
Thank for sharing good idea
You are welcome. I like to share the knowledge . :)
Amazing
Thanks a lot 👍
Thank you Sir for this very useful & informative video.

Awesome thanks
also currently i do set up #1. it does certainly work for a beginner. i been doing it for over a year and have grown my channel. but i think my videos are at a point i could use better lighting. especially since im growing my channel.
The best video on CZcams so far.. thanks a lot
thanks a lot. so happy to hear that :)
@@seanaslam I have been looking for some cheap setups and equipments. This helped me a lot to differentiate btwn each setup.. this is underrated video.
I wish you all the success
@@anikaa8781 thank you for the kind words
Thank you for the video, nicely done, easy to understand. I didn’t read all the comments but I have one question, what did you use for sound? The iPhone?
Thank you very much it helps a lot , great video ,keep going :)
You are welcome.
Thank you so much
Thank you... Really helped a lot..
So glad that this video helped you out :)
This is by far the most useful video ever!
Thanks for the compliment. :)
@@seanaslam Any portable setup option if I have a small space?
I agree with you. B4 you said it I was thinking sstup 1 with the additional $50 for the board. I like setup 1 bcuz it works in a small or large space. Setup 3 requires a certain amount of space. Now trying to start my food channel journey. BEST VIDEO OUT THERE *****
Good luck on your journey. Hoping to see your setup someday :)
thank you so much😊video is really very helpfull.
I am glad you liked it :)
Thank you. Been watching your toasty foods channel. Wondering if you could do a video on how you edit, providing tips.
Thanks for watching my other channel :)
Yes I have that planned. Will upload one in the very near future
this was one of the most informative videos i have seen on this subject. i think i like set up #3 better. but unfortanately the tiles arent an option for me. I cook in a small kitchen with no island, so i need to use my real counter top and stove. also I dont really like the angle is tasty videos. it feels impersonal to me. however, i may look into the light for set up 3. i don't want to buy a new camera yet, but i am willing to take my videos to the next level.
Wow nice sharing 👍
Wao loved the way you speak...and this video is just wonderful...thanks alot 😊
Thanks for the amazing feedback.
Nice video.. I will go with 2
I love 3but I’ll have to start with 1 , thank you

Thanks for your help 👍
You are welcome!
Very nice set up
Thanks.
Thanks for the useful video and setup tips. I plan to start my CZcams video and still confused on what to gadgets to get.
I have a redmi note 9s do you think it would be professional enought with good lighting?
This helps alot! thanks bro
Glad you like it
Thanks
Wao good information
Great Video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with us! The result isn't surprising at all. When it comes to lighting it as simple as that: you get what you pay for... No shortcuts possible. The "Quality of Light & Shadows" of the Godox 150 Watt is so much better than the others. So I think in the end the result is: Go and spent a good amount of money to protect yourself from disappointment. Thumbs up, man.
Very captivating! I love your content Keep posting, you are inspiring us!
Wow amazing!!
Thanks! Glad you found it amazing :)
This is was great!

This video is amazing .... great content i’m adding cooking to my already existing CZcams channel and was trying to gain info.
Do you have any videos on angles and how to shoot specifically.
If not could you do one please?

@@seanaslam can you give some ideas about my youtube channel
Thanks that’s really help!!!!!
You are welcome !
Thank you so much i like it all yes very helpful for me this vedio
I am glad to help :)
Thank you, Im using the light in your first setup.. My channel has so little subscriber that I’m about to burn out, sometimes I feel my passion is burned out too.. thank for your suggestion! I will try suggested setup
I can see why you may burn out. Your videos are really high quality must take a lot hard work to generate such great content. Don’t give up takes time to gain views and subs. Have you tried posting in subreddits. Those help get you a lot of views.? Try r/cookingvideos r/foodievideos r/cookingcollabration and many more!
@@seanaslam great, thanks for your advice 🤗
Set up 3 is the best
that’s my current setup :)
i ve started a youtube cooking channel dedicated on Greek cuisine about a month ago and the lighting is a big issue indeed! I might think about buying something to help me on that , great video and subscrided! :)
Thanks for subscribing. More videos like this in the future.
