I’m going to share with you tips and advice from my own experiences as a new CZcams creator. From picking a channel name, video editing, how to monetize as a small channel. But most importantly how to get viewers to subscribe to your very own brand new cooking channel.

As a new cooking channel, it can really be disheartening when your videos are still barely getting views despite the immense effort put into them. That's where I am at now. Maybe I'm different than some folks but I don't care a fig about a professional cinematic presentation if the content does not add something of value to me; it is the content that matters...

Yeah I don’t care either I will listen even with background noise and if I can’t hear I will just watch. I learned to cook with my mum just watching for the first few weeks she wouldn’t let me touch anything 😂.
And sparkly shiny new pots pans and kitchen cupboards doesn’t mean clean it means they’re brand new and not the real deal most likely a studio . So the opposite (dull, scratched , chipped) the pots pans boards are well used and loved !
I’m currently at a point where I believe I’ve been kicked out the algorithm… my views have really dropped but you are very positive and I’m not giving up..❤

Hey Wally, thanks for your frankness and honesty …how to make money on CZcams.
Sometimes, in life you challenge yourself to do something and you started with hopes of documenting foods you enjoy eating. This is not about making a living for money for you…so I totally get that, it doesn’t make sense to spend money on equipment etc …not right now.
I appreciate that you teach me to cook dishes I can’t get or dishes I would like to learn to cook at home.
You do your thing, your way.
Lessons I have learnt in life ….I have lived longer than you…LOL… is that what we gain here in earth is not all monetary. JOY , PEACE, LOVE and more importantly HOPE are what are priceless. If you get a chance to sprinkle these into your life when you can , by the time you get to age 60/65, you would feel like a KING, QUEEN or feel like you won a lottery! So many walk around in dismal deficit of these wonderful gifts. Swimming in an Olympic size pool of gold or dollars still feels cold even when the sun is shining.
Covid has brought so much retrospect and reflections that I hope many people will stop being selfish, be more forgiving of those who have hurt you, be generous with their time and money to help the less fortunate. Money helps but so does a smile, a hug, just simple kindness. What a currency to have ! We all have it to offer !

As a brand-new channel (just started January), this motivates me a lot.
I love cooking, and experimenting with video shots. I’m still trying to find my style though.
My only problem is that I’m not a talker, so, that’s why I decided to focus on making the recipes simple and to the point. Anyway, great video.

Thank you, your advice was right on time, I appreciate the motivation. Sometimes it seems like its not worth this roller coaster ride, I'm doing the most from the shopping and cooking down to the editing, uploading and cleanup. It's tiresome but I LOVE IT and it does get discouraging at times when you work so hard for each and every subscriber to hit that button one at a time. I try to stay focus on my why I started my channel in the first place, it's to leave my granddaughters an avenue to share memories and to be able to make and enjoy my meals when I am no longer able make them. Give them some confident in the Kitchen. I'm a keep moving forward even if the current viewers are not hitting that subscriber button as often as I like them too. Thanks again.

I won't be making videos or cooking much, but you did hold my attention for 26 minutes 56 seconds. You should have shown us the squirrels and your cat. :-)
I miss the old style Cantonese food in NY/NJ. The take-outs are mostly owned by immigrants from other provinces.
Lol don’t worry I will get a another chance to video a fight between my cats and squirrels. The squirrels are eating mangos from my tree and are aggressive. Yeah I feel the same way. Whenever I return to NYC most of my favorite little local restaurants are closed.

I'm only 7 subscribers away from hitting 1K, but my subs only grow by 2 or 3, then one or two will UNSUBSCRIBE. I know that this is probably just part of the growing phases that I will experience, but I'm so eager to make sure that I am providing content that is valuable to my audience. This was very inspiring Wally. I enjoy your videos and this one in my opinion is one of your best. There is something for everyone (your niche). By the way, your earnings towards the end of the year and the drop down is directly related to ad costs rising just before the holiday spending spree, thus increasing your income. I was surprised myself. So far I'm making less than last year. Cause last year people stayed home more due to pandemic. So there were more folks watching youtube. I'll make an update later this year but I won't focus on how much I earned.
Like you mentioned most people make a couple of hundred their first year after monetization. So this might discourage some people.
Instead I'll focus more building a cooking channel from ground up ✌️

I've always wanted to make a roast beef recipe. But a large chunk of cow is expensive in Thailand. Because one of my favorite foods in the world is a simple roast beef on rye with mustard 😀 But who knows if I can find a good cut of beef I'll make one in the near future 👍
