Originally made for series workers who wanted a weekend boot, the Robert offers great arch support, paired with premium USA leathers. This boot differs from the Falcon in that it has greater arch support and a higher heel--consistent with the series work boot models which have made Nicks great: the Ranger and the Forester.
While most boots are meant to be thrown away after a few months, Nicks are built to last. When your boots start to need some servicing, you can send them in to have them resoled or completely rebuilt! Nicks Handmade Boots are serviceable and last years longer than a mass-produced boot. Since 1964, Nicks has been making the highest quality boots on the market, right here in Spokane Washington. If you're tired of your old work boots wearing out, upgrade to Nicks and enjoy the most comfortable boots on the market.

@NicksHandmadeBoots - At 22:55 in the video. Please have the gentleman doing the finishing with that piece of rebar grind the mushroom off of the end. As someone who has worked with metal, I can tell you that given the proximity to his face, it is only a matter of hammer blows before shards start flying from that mushroomed end seeking out his unprotected eyes. Always dress and maintain your tools, even if it is a piece of rebar. Nice boots, but not worth losing an eye.
These videos are going to make you busier than ever when people that appreciate excellence, supreme American craftsmanship quality (like me) discover your company.
I'm sure that I'm not alone watching your videos of different leather options, models and features , rebuilds etc. It's become a minor obsession this past week, figuring what to order after sizing.
Thanks for showing the world, what true world class AMERICAN MADE & OWNED means folks at NICK'S!
It already has. Lead times have tripled over the past couple of years lol
For those wondering, this pair of boots has the 55 last, moderate heel stack, and dogger heel. Great example of this feature Nicks introduced just in the last year for those who want the best arch support but not a tall heel.
Doesn't changing the height of the heel stack throw off the weight distribution?
@@mikealley2596 Yes, I'm sure it does. It's an option that probably appeals mostly to those who prefer the appearance and don't mind a little more neutral weight balance on the 55 last.
It does! Interesting: Currently, the Prospector has a moderate heel and the Robert a tall one.
My boots are coming up this coming week I’m getting excited for them thank you everyone at nick’s for the work you do
Just gorgeous. Design and build. Skill and hard work. We love it!
I just received my Roberts today! Perfect fit and finish! I am so pleased with them. They were a Xmas present from my son.
Man, that is gorgeous leather! 😍
Gorgeous!
Nice work and great job
Great work!
Thats my favourite colour! So beautiful.
great craftsmanship 💪💪
Amazing. Imagine trying to teach that process and skills on.
When the nails were hammered in. He always made sure with an extra hit of the hammer. Well done.
Dang that leather looks amazing!
Wow, so many cool things in that video! The weird specialized machines, tools (was that a hunk of rebar??), to the amazing craftspeople! Now I must own a pair of those boots!
cool video.
Might be my pair of roberts in chestnut latigo if it were size 7.5E lol.
Beautiful boot 🖤
Very Nice .
Nice boot I seen it on bucking channel thought I would take a look
That's a beautiful pair of boots; I miss my pair of Roberts, will need to buy another soon.
What happened to them?
@@howyduinyall7653 needed to be wider.
I ordered the same boots 🥾 two weeks ago, 6” though, with the same specifications down to the out sole and leather finish.. glad to see it get made. I will save this video as my reference. Love it…thank you for putting out that episode.
No I have to wait another 16 more months.
@@joeap120416 months or weeks?
Just got my Roberts in W&C EB Burgundy a few days ago. These are seriously nice boots. Already scratched the toe on the clutch pedal of my car. It was bound to happen eventually. Well, no returning them now.
Sizing of the footbed seems correct, but ihe fit seems a little loose around the foot, but nothing a set of their nice leather insoles doesn't fix. The leather insoles are really nice as well.
Awesome! We are glad you enjoy them, and in a beautiful leather. Embrace the scuff they will look even more amazing (i just got renegades in WC Tan Latigo and scraped them on my clutch immediately as well btw)
Excelente trabalho👏😇❣
Is this with a shorter heel? Superb!
I have always been curious, do you guys make your own lasts? And if so i would be super interested in how those are made.
That brown chormexcel is beautiful
Just fyi - This isn’t horween brown chromexcel. It’s Wickett & Craig Chestnut Latigo, per the description.
@@EscapedTexan learning to read is next on my playlist. It's beautiful leather for sure.
Hermosas..
Is that black piece glued in during the shanking process a piece of foam??
Can we have a Manito MaxSupport Tan next please ?
Does this boot has the same shaped toe as the Falcon, or narrower?
WOULD Love to see how the new Side Zip - Patrol Boot is made. Say a SDZIP-MTO-CCS-55-6-MEDBRN78SM-BRASS-PL-SFT-TC-V- Bar-NATE-DOGHEEL just for grins ;>) and becasue I can hardly wait.
That Damascus blade at 14:00.....
Ilike this pair of shoes which he has just finished can I buy one of those I am from India
Dang! Merica!!!
How many weeks does the production take?
Looks like screws are used only in V100 Lug soles. Other soles have stitches and glue. Am I right ?
We need a “making John MOORE’s BuilderPro video😂
Do you using brass nails?
Why is there an eyelet at the top and not a hook??
Can't afford your boots,(yet). Looking forward to the day!
Nicks should make a dress boot
Is the only difference between the Robert and Charley the toe cap on the Charley?
I have the Charley in waxed flesh and it is my most worn piece of footwear. 3 years old and still going strong!!!
I think that the heal type and last are different between the two. Hard to keep the models apart for me tho. Too many good options if I won the lottery.
Theses things are gorgeous, but 1 question for those of us with hobbit feet. Any way to get a more roomy tongue? A tongue that comes away from the boot a little bit more, to give more foot clearance?
I have very high arches and the tongue & kilty (kiltie?) on my Roberts give plenty of space. Typically I push the tops of shoes out but my Nick's fit great. Edited to add: I ordered a "wide" boot based on my measurements, which I did myself with their printed template and a fabric tape measure in thick-ish socks.
Remove the tongue and comb your toe hair up to keep the boots water resistant.
What kind of boots do the employees making the boots wear?
I've seen New Balance, Nike's, other sneakers, etc.
How much for this boot

This is one of the ways you SELL boots. Keep it up.
Started hacking ... skipping the stage - sewing on the midsole ....
Why do you sometimes use nails and sometimes you do not use them at all?
They always use nails. They are required for all of their constructions. Sometimes they just don’t show it.
@@bradlarrison191 No, they don't. Have a look at this. They removed all the nails and simply used glue and stitching machine czcams.com/video/tqOAtpun7UA/video.html No nails through the shank either
@@user-hs1np1os9p That's the 365 Stitchdown method. Pretty new for Nicks. They swap the leather midsole and outsole with rubber and make a 360 degree stitch. The point is to have a lighter, more flexible and more water resistant boot. Danner uses this method. The nails are not needed in the 365 version because the stitching goes all the way around, unlike on these boots.
@@Totemparadox I also noticed that many other guys use "welt" (a ribbon that is stitched to upper leather through insole). Nicks' blog that supposed to answer this question seems not to work. Why do they prefer "stitchdown" method?
@@user-hs1np1os9p It's more water and dirt resistance. But it also makes resoling a bit more tedious and if the leather "welt" fails you can't change it like on a Goodyear welt boot and the upper needs to be fixed. It's not a big problem though. There are decades old nicks and danner with the upper still intact.
I need something I can stand in on hard concrete floors for 16 hours a day.
Sounds like what you need is another job, none of these boots offer shock absorption, you would be much better off with a thorogood moc toe or a boot with a vibram cristy sole and shock absorption insole.
@@mad0uche what about Nick's Moc toe with the wedge sole?
@@mad0uche how are you qualifying yourself to give such an answer? You have no idea what my job is, for one thing.
I think wedge sole is your answer as it is a shock absorber itself but the downside is it wears about faster than many other soles it is also a little slippery.
@@newinspiration2108 sounds great. And thanks for not suggesting thorogood. I'd rather go with redwings. I'd go into how I feel about those but I'd end up with a book.
Calling it a weekend boot is so demeaning and insulting. Boots have feelings, you know. It’s like saying women are only good for one thing. #freetheurbanlogger #freetheurbandrifter
