I have a couple, but I think the best is a guy i met in AA about 17 years ago. I had shared in a meeting that i was a drummer. Apparently in 9 months it was the first time i had said this. A dude I had only said "hi" to and had very light conversation with a few times came up to me and basically said "you're a drummer? Want to join me and another dude in a band". Long story short. Because of that interaction, I've played 1000 shows, in 5 different bands, met tons of great people who are my best friends now, and even my job and ex-gf is because of becoming best friends with this dude. His name is Chris and I've wondered many times how different my life would be had I never shared about being a drummer that day. It's truly incredible. We've even talked about it a few times. Sounds about right. I once had a friend that I have no idea how we became friends in the first place. I just sat beside her and we started talking like we’ve known each other for years. I only met her the year before and we weren’t even talking to eachother.
@@sauce6534 that they were both pretending to know each other for years? She started having a mental breakdown when someone asked her, and then they got married. No actually thats not very boring lol. It probably has happened to someone but its not like a casual tuesday.
I knew a girl at uni who I would have coffee with every few weeks. We knew all about each other's families, classes, etc. After almost two years of this, I finally told her that it was embarrassing, but I honestly didn't know her name. She just breathed a huge sigh of relief and admitted that she didn't know mine either. Although we each knew the names of the other's siblings! It's just that we didn't have any other friends in common so we never referred to each other in the third person, and how often do you use someone's name when you are talking directly to them?
I served coffee in a cafe in college while I happened to be reading A Clockwork Orange at the time (which I read over and over that year) and this guy ordered and spotted my book, and then said, “Great book. What’s it going to be then, eh?” (A quote from that book). He was just this cute long haired guy with weird shoes who actually read books so he kinda stood out. 15 years later and while I lived at least 4 states away, he thought I looked familiar when I posted a comment on an article about my favorite book and Kubric film and he replied, quoting the book to me. Again. Felt kind of familiar but I didn’t know who he was (we both look different, I now have cherry red hair and glasses and he’s now muscular, tatted up, bald and bearded-hot!) I digress. Anyway, we had no idea until later but it was an eerily familiar conversation. Weeks into dating we were looking at old pictures and recognized each other. 5 years later, we are married, and the inside of his wedding band is inscribed with that quote from that same book, “What’s it going to be then, eh?”
In middle school, i was bullied incessantly, to the point where I was going through a severe depression. My parents wanted to try and move me to a different school, but I had to attend the school i was zoned for. The only exceptions were academies and magnets schools. I wasn't a good enough student to get into a magnet school based on my grades, so all we could do was apply for the lottery system and hope for the best. Well, I got lucky and was selected to attend a local arts school for 8th grade. For that year, the school decided to place me in an honors algebra class for some reason. I wasn't ready for that level of math at that time, so i was flunking the class. For the second semester, they had me moved to a pre-algebra class so i wouldn't completely fail math for that year. So then i get to high school, and i now have to take algebra again. Since the school i was at had a 4x4 schedule at the time, the class was split into algrebra 1A and 1B. Well, i flunked algrebra 1B, too. So, for sophomore year, i had to retake algebra 1B instead of geometry like everyone else in my year. I get to my first day of geometry, and i decide to sit in the back by myself because i am ashamed of being one of the few juniors in sophomore geometry. About a week into the school year, a girl joins the class. She just moved back to Florida from Arkansas, so she started school late. This girl was a straight A student and usually sat near the front of class, but the class was pretty full, so the only available seat was in the back next to me. We talked a little here and there. Geometry was the only class we had together. We became friends, and she helped me with the class since i needed it. Eventually, we became best friends. This was about 15 years ago. I am currently lying next to her in bed typing this, and we have been married for almost 8 years. So i guess if i had not been bullied so badly in middle school, i would have never met my wife.
Sometimes people just need someone but are scares of really trying to interact, it probably helped that they just went with the flow and hoped the fact that they never lnew eachother was never brought up
Basically my whole life now is a butterfly affect. I had a friend who asked me to lead worship at a church camp, I was super insecure and introverted, but said yes anyway because I was a huge people pleaser. This led me to meeting the youth pastor at a nearby town, he asked me to help with their youth group because they needed adult leaders. I helped for five years or so, and went to the same camp to help lead worship each year. One year there was this guy who lived in a nearby town I had never met who helped be a leader for camp. The youth pastor puts us together on a camp team (yes he played matchmaker and wasn't even really sly about it). This led the guy to getting to know me for a whole week and asking me out. Having a boyfriend in the neighboring town led me to getting a job there (it's bigger than where I lived), I got an apartment there, switched churches, and now we're going to get married soon. My church family has been instrumental in my faith and now I work there too. If I hadn't said yes to my friend or backed out like I planned none of this would have happened. Even stranger, if the youth pastor had not accepted a job in a small town in the middle of nowhere and gone somewhere else like he was planning, none of this would have happened either! Even if my friend had led worship at camp like she's planned, wouldn't have happened either!
@@pwpqwq7648 I think the action of waving to someone is a bit more pronounced than the beat of a butterfly's wings, this can be classed as just being a normal person.

In 2020, an animatic to the song "lemon boy" by cavetown for a fandom I was in at the time showed up in my youtube recommended. I didn't even watch it. Then it showed up 2 more times, and I decided I would give it a try. It wasn't like it was the best animation ever made or anything, but I saw it, and seeing it is what made me want to draw in the first place. I got deeper in the fandom, and met more people who were also in the fandom. I started listening to cavetown. I started animating, even posting them online. One day someone asked me if the person in one of my animations was frisk from undertale. I didn't know who that was. Then, a while later, the original animator I followed made an animation that lead me down a rabbit hole and I ended up listening to fallen down from undertale a lot. I even started playing piano so i could play fallen down. I decided to give undertale a try. I loved it. Then deltarune was an easy next game to play. For a while, undertale and deltarune were the only things I cared about. I started learning other songs on piano, which is now one of my biggest hobbies. Eventually, I started looking for new games to play. One day, one of the piano tutorial CZcams channels I followed (SMB I believe) posted a tutorial for a song called DUET from Omori. I listened to it, and it wad gorgeous. I bought omori right there, and played it the next day (which was coincidentally the main characters birthday). It was a masterpiece. That game genuinely changed my life. I'm going to be honest, I don't know if I would be here today without having played omori. I started drawing more and more, I mostly drew the omori characters at this point. I even grew a little following online. The people I met from being in that original fandom the animation from 2020 was about are still people I call my best friends, even if we all agree that that fandom should stay a thing of the past. There's a lot more "sub-butterfly effects", but this is the main pipeline.
I had this in middle school. Though we didn't know each other at all. Turns out she knew my brother and I looked a lot like him. We found this out when she first passed my brother and not 10 seconds later passed me and she got very confused. Then brother returned and things started making sense for her again.
I sorta did this with a girl at school. I smile a lot in the halls and we passed so we smiled and after awhile she waved. I never knew her name and I was a 7th grader and she was an 8th grader! At the end of the year i got her to sign my yearbook. She just wrote how she always loved waving at me and seeing my smile. Haven’t seen her since, but it was sweet

Both came to a new school at the same time, became friends, new year comes around and we become closer, I sit next to him in algebra and he falls in love with me while solving a math problem, I fall in love with him during history, we both get together in the summer and been together ever since.
This happened recently, I met a girl in clinic we formerly introduced ourselves. And she is from Serbia and has as you could assume not a common name. 1 week later I see her and give her hug to greet her and she freezes up and looks at me uncomfortably. She asked me who are you? And I said it’s me ___ we met last week. She tells me she’s never met me before and that today was her first day at our college. I said are you sure? Is t your name ____ (a really exotic not common name) and she said yes how do you know my name? So I apologized, and backed off lol either de ja vu or are I shift ed realities lol
My girlfriend still being alive today. Her and I played a vr game called VRChat. For those who dont know, basically, you can change characters and be whatever you want. Also, there are "worlds." They're just places where you can hang out w others. Well her and I were the same character, and i joined a random world that had my gf in it. I sat next to her in the game, and she spoke to me first. A few months after we started dating (which was almost 2 years since we met) we were talking about it and she confessed she absolutely planned to kill herself 2 days after we met. She had it fully planned and everything. All because i was in a character i liked, she was too, and i joined a random world she was in.
@@ae121no butterfly effect would be because he waved at her he tripped on a rock and ended up breaking his leg while in the hospital he got talking to a nurse and realised that's what he wanted to do or married the nurse or meet good future boss because his leg was in plaster. This story is simply boy meets girl.
Neither of you are right a butterfly effect and key word effect is something happen cuz of something else where as in real life we do things and think what would have happened if you did something else that’s not an effect that’s a thought as the butterfly effect is only possible if you could go back and change things
It is a butterfly effect. A small thing (a butterfly beating its wings) causes a huge thing (a wave) as a result. A chain reaction. Without the butterfly, there would be no wave. Without the girl waving, they would never be married.
I got butterflies most when my crush (who very rarely speaks to me even tho we see each other often) made deep eye contact with me from about 10-15 feet away, he was playing 9 square and I was in line to rejoin. That weekend he seemed to like me a lot he was doing anything I did, even to go as far as to stop playing his fav game that he doesn’t get to play often, to come play apples to apples with me. And yesterday I opened the locked church door for him (it was only locked from the outside, and I was already inside ) and he said “oh hi” in a very nice tone, he’s never said hi or even my name before, he just talks to me by looking at me and talks… his mom also called me by my nickname, so I think I’m getting to another level with his whole family. Last night we also had band practice ( him, his twin, my sister and I) and afterwards we had pizza, they are always well mannered unless they are around people they are comfortable with, and omg I’ve never seen them less mannered, they were talking with their mouth full even spitting food out by accident at some points, chewing with their mouth open, burping on demand, and refusing to say please when their dad asked them too. I’ve never seen them like that and they always seem to loose friends at this point in the friendship, I think it’s a type of test but I do t know, I passed because it was the most entertaining meal ever and it was so fun, they were debating about ways to cut a pizza 💀 then they called their sister embarrassing when she pretended to be a dog 😂
Not the right butterfly effect, but still a wholesome story! … that being said, the original post didn’t really use the term right either, so you get a pass
This is how I met my best friend...she came up and hugged me and said hey buddy, so I did the same...2 years later we find out that neither of us knew each other and didn't know each other's names for 2 months...we still call each other buddy...we've been besties for 8 years 😊
My freshman year of college, I just signed up in a random room for my housing, I didn't know anyone. My room roommate and I became close friends over the year and into the pandemic. We now have been best friends, I feel like a platonic soulmate, and roommates for five years. She has taught me so much and is pretty responsible for me being able to say "no" to things. We have cats and a friend group unlike any that I've ever had. They are like my family. My life would be completely different if I had chosen a different room to live in. I'm just so grateful that we ended up together.
Not a butterfly effect that’s just life a butterfly effect is if you were able to go back in time and change something so slight that everything changes it’s not a real thing it’s just a thing you say like I wonder what would have been different if As an effect is a thing that happens cuz of something else not what could have happened

I love this 🦋
My life has seemed as such, one wave after another.
Thank you for explaining.
LOL I know that feeling😁 You think, did they tell me their name and it just didn't register? Did I tell them MY name? I can't remember!
" i dunno"
"i dunno"
Thank you for this inspiring story 😊
Hah! Sometimes, relationships happen from the strangest occurences.
Girl… you were meant to be!!! ❤
So i guess if i had not been bullied so badly in middle school, i would have never met my wife.
that is so nice!

That's not the butterfly effect, that's a brilliant misunderstanding
That's the point of the butterfly effect. Had he not waved back every day, he would have most likely missed out on wedding that girl
@@pwpqwq7648 I think the action of waving to someone is a bit more pronounced than the beat of a butterfly's wings, this can be classed as just being a normal person.
@@pwpqwq7648not a butterfly effect lol if that is then everything we do is a butterfly effect, a butterfly effect is that if u were to time travel and something so small as to the amount of times a butterfly flaps it wings that everything could change, waving or not waving to someone that u see everyday at college ain’t a butterfly effect is just a choice in the moment not one they went back and changed
@@freshstudios5533 Butterfly effect is basically choosing between two or more different paths/choices, all of which can lead down to different results on the long term. Not sure why you involved time travel, but it's not strictly connected to that
You can literally say your birth is the butterfly effect because you being here has changed literally everyone’s lives and every interaction with another human you’ve ever met.

This story shows what can happen when 2 shy sensitive and good people meet that they can ultimately express their feelings for each other,
They will tell the story of how they met to their grandchildren.
That is the coolest origin story ever!

That’s crazy, but something similar happened to my cousin, it was the craziest thing ever
Bruh that’s not a butterfly effect
it is? small thing causing something significant, aka a wave causing a marriage.
@@TheFakeyCakeMaker So her mistaking him for someone else? Are you always this dense?
Neither of you are right a butterfly effect and key word effect is something happen cuz of something else where as in real life we do things and think what would have happened if you did something else that’s not an effect that’s a thought as the butterfly effect is only possible if you could go back and change things
It is a butterfly effect. A small thing (a butterfly beating its wings) causes a huge thing (a wave) as a result. A chain reaction. Without the butterfly, there would be no wave. Without the girl waving, they would never be married.

That is way too wholesome😭😭
When a side quest ends up giving you the secret good ending :
that's the most weirdly wholesome way of " that's how I met your mother"
