Yeah, flirting is different for each person. Sometimes it's literally just giving them compliments, sometimes it's laughing, sometimes it's a cheesy one-liner, or sometimes it's something that catches you completely off-guard.
I usually like to casually bring up the subject of dating in general (not dating you specifically) to see if they're with anyone, and sometimes they'll admit it right there, but if not then the topic will be open and you'll have a better idea of how they feel about it.
