I'm honestly shocked that this video didn't have more views for me personally you guys broke it down and explained everything in a way that I understood and I wasn't overwhelmed with a bunch of technical grammar I know it's important to know what everything means when you're learning about a subject but something about the way you guys explain everything helped me out a lot so thank you.

Your segment about depth of field, how to control it, and how it affects the image was good. I've not heard many speak of this and how to use it and how it shows up in the photo. Good stuff. It takes time working with your camera, taking lots of pictures, looking at your results, to really understand that exposure triangle of ISO / F-stop / shutter speed. That is what makes photography fun!

I cannot tell you how much all your videos have helped me!! I found you guys a while ago and I thought I had subscribed and apparently didn’t, fast forward I got into doing photos more and needed extra help again! my struggle is low lighting dealing with ISO indoors? If I put the Iso for example 1600 what should my shutter speed and aperture be ?

Hi on a sunny day outside if I had a shutter speed 1-2500 aperture 1.8 iso 320 should my iso be lower

So, if my picture is too dark when the shutter speed is at double the focal length, I should increase the ISO rather than decrease the shutter speed? Or do I decrease the shutter speed to keep the picture from becoming to grainy and risk it becoming blurry?
I would increase ISO for sure in this situation :)
I want to take a family pictures. I mostly take pictures outside for 2 hours before sunset. I want to capture their movement for walking pictures. I use most A priority mode. How can I ensure to get the families sharp and not blurred?
Awesome! Make sure to have your aperture turned up to at least 3.2 and shutter speed pretty quick (1/250 or higher).
The issue I have is when I take pictures inside the property ( beachouse) and I want to capture the ocean view , let’s say from the kitchen area , my picture comes out Dark but the view of the ocean it’s perfect.
Do you prefer a prime lens over a zoom?

Because I so often shoot landscapes and wild animals with aperture-priority, I have forgotten to check my camera's meter when using manual settings.
so if I use a 250mm lens, i want to increase the shutter speed to 1/500? This lense is a 55mm -250mm. I also have a 18-55mm and id want that shutter speed to be 1/110?
Yes! But try not to overthink it with a zoom lens. Try around a 1/300 with both and try some movement shots and see if you’re getting crisp images.
Why is it that sometimes my aperture will only go down to a f5. And it’s in manual mode. I can’t get it to a f4.5 or lower/larger.
All lenses are different. So if you look at your lens it should have a number and that is the lowest aperture you can shoot at with that lens.
I find my images are just not tack sharp even following these practices. I just cannot figure it out as to why focus is off somewhere along the way., It could be my focus settings, but I’m never sure.

Hey, Ladies, I know this is an old video, but I have the issue that I want to shoot wide open for the blurred background, but i will almost forget about it if there is more than 2 people, 😆. This is probably a practice issue. but I want to get to the point wear everything is properly expose with a low aperture.
So there is more to the blurred background than just the low f stop too. It has to do with the lens, the distance from the subject and the background too. We never shoot wide open just because we want to get our subject or subjects crisp. The lowest we will go is an f2.2 typically.
@@esquared.photography So that is how I go in thinking, but I will usually end up between 2.8 or 4. I don't think about the 'blurred' background until I am editing later on. I think I should just practice that type of portrait to get better at seeing it while shooting. But I am also in the Vineyard area on the Mosel, so folks want to see the people and the background.
