Rapunzel and Cassandra have most recently ventured into Mother Gothel’s cottage in the Tangled The Series episode A Tale of Two Sisters and we were able to get a glimpse at her magical research, lab, and magic mirrors. Slowly we are getting a sense of who Mother Gothel was. Her full story is being revealed to us, and I am pretty sure we will get an entire understanding of what her backstory was. After seeing the last Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure episode, today I go through what we know so far about who Gothel was just prior to stealing Rapunzel and heading to her tower.

Hey what if, she was pregnant for a long time? Just imagine, you are a vain woman who fools around a little too much and discovering that your pregnant you would do anything to keep your youth, and find the flower that can 1, keep you young and healthy and 2, stops your pregnancy! Then when the flower is taken for the queen, shes suddenly thrown threw time so quickly her pregnancy lasts like 3 days and you daughter to be ages much more quickly then expected

She's the main posthumous villain of the series. Representing a lot of Rapunzels inner problems and flaws she has to overcome across the series.

Poor Cassandra thought her mother was a selfless hero!
Cassandra's tendency to idolize and create parental figures is one of the common traits of children of narcissistic parents. Feeling of abandonment can affect a person in many ways even after a long time.
Similar to Rapunzel's reaction to seeing the tower and Fredric's unintentional over-protectiveness , this show portrait PTSD and effects of past events accurately and consistently.
More praise to the creators and I do hope this show can make people of all ages understand and empathize.

(And why abandon Cass? Well. Because she kinda Ages to Dust Warning without the sundrop. But if Arianna hadn’t eaten the sundrop, it’s possible Gothel would have, instead, to have a matching sundrop child...and just sang to her belly while pregnant or during labor, depending on when she allegedly might’ve taken the elixer.)

Zhan Tiri is simply taking advantage of Gothel’s “groundwork” with Cass...for whatever means she’s after. (And Gothel had her own means beyond Vanity that may or may not have intersected or paralleled ZT’s)

The live action version of Cinderella also showed Cinderella's stepmother have a tragic back story and the fact that her 2nd husband was still in love with his deceased wife, hence why she hated Cinderella.

Avery the Cuban-American YES! I think that’s Gothel’s addition of “fake love” mirrors to reserve that specific memory in case she has to use it like Zhan Tiri (the little girl) gave the mirror, broken, to a victim.
There's a quote I heard though I dont remember it exactly. Basically it's that: it is easier to believe that you failed to do the right things to gain the love of your parents than it is to except that your parents do not love you. In Cass's case, it's easier to believe that rapunzel stole her mother and love, rather than deal with the trauma and pain of not being loved at all.
That’s do sad but that does make sense
I really want there to be a part where Cass is downstairs in her castle with the remains of the tower and finds the mirror Gothel and Raps used during that time. She touches it and it plays the whole “I see a strong, confident, beautiful young lady... oh look you’re here too” and “you are not leaving this tower EVER!” scenes. It would show Cass the truth, I think, about Raps’ time with Gothel.
That would have been interesting if they did that
I pretty sure a therapist would diagnose Gothel with both narcissistic personality as well as anti-social personalty disorder. I'm sure if you took a personality quiz it would even identify what exactly Gothel be labeled as in terms of her personality.
I think Cass is looking for love and acceptance in all the wrong places. That again because she didn't talk about her feelings wasn't healthy.
And because of her own flaws and not doing a lot to help better herself she has fallen this far.
I've been in therapy all my life and I've three social workers who see me every week.
One thing that is made clear in therapy is you need to talk about your feelings and problems and find healthy coping skills and figure out how to better yourself.
You need to accept what you can't change and make the changes in yourself to better your life. And stay away from people who are toxic and treat you poorly as it does nothing good for your mental health.
So I think Cass needs a LOT of therapy at the moment. She's had enough trauma under gothel care. But again she keeps refusing to talk about what she is really feeling and finding healthy outlets for her emotions.
And she is refusing the help of those who can help her get through her problems.
So all I can say is Cass needs some serious therapy and Gothel got both in my opinion narcissistic personality disorder and anti-social personality disorder!

When I still watch Stars I started to hate how the Jedi bascially deny someone being human. Because if you can't feel all your emoitons then you really gonna kill yourself. You need all your emotinjs to be human and do thigns. and anger and fear don't have to be negetive. They can lead to good things too.
Agreed. This is what I keep telling people about Cass. She holds things in until the anger, frustration, and resentment build then just explodes. And even has the audacity to get mad at Raps for not understanding how she is feeling even though she never opens up about her feelings. I am still pissed that she learned Gothel is her mother and didn't immediately talk to Rapunzel about it. Instead, she's like "I'm gonna take the moonstone at the last second."
@@scorpiocarnage1055 exactly! The first time we saw this problem was in the Challenge of the Brave. All of it could've been avoided if Cass just told Rapunzel how she felt. Again she and Eugene had the same problem when they had to get out of jail together!
Also if Cass would acknowledge her faults and not be in denial that would help as well. But yeah she needs to TALK about her feelings because never talking about them has led to this!
This is clearly not healthy in any shape or form! Which is why it was so easy to see she be the one to betray Rapunzel in the first place!

Even if Cass believes Gothel loved her, she should still be mad at HER for choosing Rapunzel over her, not at Rapunzel who was an infant at the time. A lot of Cass's arguments for her anger and actions are off like this.

Your correct in all ways. Cass reminds me of a kid who gets jealous over their new born sibling because they see their mom giving more attention to the other sibling. Therefore the kid instantly hates the younger sibling even if they didn’t do anything.

It’s because the trauma happened when Cass was a toddler, so she’s reliving it not as a 24 yr old, but the traumatized 5 year old who watched her mother abandon her. Made worse by ZT being a master manipulator (and Cass displaying signs of being the child abused by a narcissistic parent in addition to that c-ptsd, which displays itself different than Raps’s)
(And Why Not an abortion/abandoning or murdering BabyCass? Gothel wanted a Moonstone Kid, and might’ve eaten the sundrop and sang to her belly to survive and get a Sundrop Kid to match...then effectively having BOTH powers under her control. Buuut, Arianna DID eat the sundrop, so Gothel chose the Lifeline. Jury’s Out on whether she ever would’ve stolen Cass back but...probably not. She had 18 years, in a fairly small kingdom.)

SnowWhite was a prototype for Cass for being a Moonstone Kid. Well. Until she was prettier. Snow had to go.
It's a strong possibility, because both stories originate from parts of Germany. When Walt Disney made Snow White, he probably reached out to every part of the world to bring it to life, particularly fables and lore.

That makes since of why it's named the Coronavirus.
Well, that happen nearly 20 years ago when at the time was Mother Gothel was on her cottage with a young daughter Cassandra. Unfortunately, she never liked her daughter in the true meaning of the past for as of this shown in the beginning of the episode "Rapunzel's Return" in the flashbacks. At the time, Gothel kidnapped Rapunzel as a child and adopted as a daughter, abandoning Cassandra. This was a terrible true events in the episode "A Tale of Two Sister's" made on that far.

I have a theory so in Cassandras Revenge, Rapunzel has to use a new incation. A sundrop incantation and with cass receiving the second moon one and having full control over the rocks now rapunzel might be able to do the healing one agian. Because its obvious she can still do sundrop incantion I just feel like as if its being blocked by the bit of Moonstone magic in her

Oh my god, for the 18th episode “Once Upon A Handmaiden...” Cass sneaks into Corona with a magic cloak with the intention of making amends with Raps!
I like to think the reason why Gothel is so obsessed with staying so young and beautiful is because her lover that once loved her for her beauty left her when she started to aged leaving her to be a single mother. When you listen to the reprise of Mother knows best “trust me that’s how fast he’ll leave you, I won’t say I told you so.” It feels like it’s directing towards her lover leaving her so quickly. Thus making her not care about Cass or Raps and she only focus on herself and her beauty putting up a protective barrier so it won’t happen again. I have some other theories so sorry for rambling

@@aristrosa I'll say, I have never seen so many twists and turns in a Disney series like there has been with Tangled the Series. Plus Eugene and Rapunzel are quickly becoming my favorite Disney couple of all time and so realistic.

I just realized that Eugene and Gothel are somewhat similar. Both are obsessed with their looks and are vain, but only Eugene realized that not everything last forever.
It's also why both Cassandra and Rapunzel have different opinions about him, because in a way he reminds them of Gothel.
For Rapunzel, despite how she believed Gothel was her mother she knew what her character was like but she always wanted to see the good in her. Unlike with Flynn despite being a thief he had a good heart. As for Cassandra she never wanted to see her mother in a bad light no matter how much she treated her, but is quick to see the worst in Eugene despite the fact he actually died to save Rapunzel.

I totally believe that Gothel was one of Lord Demanitus' former students that betrayed him and became a follower of Zhan Tiri. She possibly already was following Zhan Tiri, and just used Demanitus to get knowledge of the Sundrop and Moonstone from him. Both for Zhan Tiri, but mostly for herself.

I honestly wonder why Gothel had a kid. If she just wanted someone to do chores she could've easily gotten someone she didn't have to take care of to do them. Maybe she wanted to turn Cass into a follower of Zhan tiri when she got older.

Wotso Videos I think so too, I remember correctly that was the intention, for the power of the sun drop in rapunzel to neutralize the power of the moon stone, basically balancing both types of magic out. Cassandra just foiled that plan by taking the moonstone for herself
kseniya gladkaya but remember Demanitus said that when the sun drop and moonstone are reunited they would create a great power that could be used for good or evil.
What i don't understand is, why Gothel had Cassandra in the first place.
I mean it is clear that she didn't care about her and i don't think she would love anybody enough besides herself enough to attempt to start a family and it was shown, that Gothel would left Cass without hesitation.
So why keep her arround?
Only explaination i have is, that maybe Gothel planed to use Cass for something.
My theory is that Cass' father had some connections to the moon stone (hence why she was able to wield it) and Gothel intended to use her at some point however when she lost the sun drop she had to make a choice and choose youth over Cass.
Maybe she kidnapped Cass like she kidnapped Rapunzel she had a plan for her as well

I personally think that she held a grudge against Cass, but I'm not one hundred percent sure why. Although, if the show is going close to my theory on Gothal being a possible shadow person than Cass's existence might be explained. Like I mentioned before, it's possible that if the show is close to my theory than at least half of Cass's genes would come from a shadowy heritage. But after thinking more about it and why Gothal would even keep the child, an alternate theory has risen and it would make more sense with Gothal's hatred of Cassandra and also why Zhan Tiri was comfortable when she first met Cassandra. What if Zhan Tiri had grown tired of her usual followers trying (in her eyes failing) to defeat their enemies and had decided to take her time in creating someone new and making an unexpected move by making Cassandra a very young child (or maybe even a young babe) with innocence, a conscience and emotion. This type of move by Zhan Tiri would make sense as she mentioned that she observed that compassion was Rapunzel's biggest weakness. As an alternative to the last part of my original theory about Gothal being a possible shadow person and Cass at least being half of that, it works even better. And a feasible answer as to why Gothal hated Cass so much would be because maybe after Cass's creation Zhan Tiri could've tasked Gothal with protecting and raising Cass to one day be her avatar (and sadly a victim) in the upcoming clash between the sun-drop and the moon-stone and with it being a task (and an order) by Zhan Tiri, Gothal would've done it.

I think she's desperate for the thought of her having a loving biological parent. Even if children are abused by their parents that can still hold love and loyalty to them
And when she remembers feeling abandoned she's misplacing her anger and rejection onto rapunzel due to manipulation of ZT because (like mentioned) she believes rapunzel stole her mother from her
Honestly, I really don't like Gothel. I know what it's like to have an emotionally abusive parent and she fits the bill.
I really wish that The Captain plays a role in saving Cas. He honestly loves her as if she was his own child. He goes above and beyond for her. In the episode Islands Appart we really see the depths of his love and loyalty to his daughter. We see the despair of not being able to help her. The self-loathing that comes from how helpless he feels and how much he just wants to protect her.
He is literally dad of the year and I want Disney to recognize just how amazing he is. He deserves to redeem himself as a parent and be able to protect his child.
I don't know on having an abusive family but my best friend does.
Now i hate Gothel of all the other villains in disney.

5:26 I think that is meant to be a moment where she has a very brief moment of hesitation because she looks a little dismayed, but then looks at Rapunzel and chooses her youth over Cassandra. The latest episode makes it very clear she considered Cassandra a nuisance, but that scene there does at least imply that for a split second Gothel felt a brief moment of guilt. She might have been trying to make it to the cottage hoping she'd have evaded the guards and planned on picking up Cassandra to take with them which is why she has that brief moment of sadness. Just like abusive parents often are they (To varying amounts) do sometimes hold small bits of affection for their children. Whether that affection is enough to compel them to change and become better parents/people depends on how much that affection matters to them.
In this case, Gothel probably did have a small amount of affection for Cass (The same small amount that she likely had for Rapunzel), but she's lived so long thinking only about herself that her ability to truly care about the well being of others is stunted and doesn't matter to her if it gets in the way of her quest for eternal life. Gothel has probably had many children throughout her centuries of living and likely started off as a good and loving person (As everyone does). With the long amount of time that she's lived for herself she's more than likely lost the ability to truly love and care about anyone else but the innate desire to love causes her to have small bits of affection for her "children". This affection is however warped and distorted by selfishness, narcissism, vanity, and just caring about herself more than anyone else.
Her "affection" is limited to what they can do for her and how great it makes her feel about herself. She loves Cass and Rapunzel the same way way a child loves their toys, superficially and expend-ably. She has a slight enjoyment of their company and enjoys the feeling of thinking she's a good mother (Thus fooling herself into thinking she loves them), but her love all comes back to how it makes her feel about herself/look to others rather than genuinely caring about the well being of her children. She'll "keep them" so long as it isn't inconvenient to her goal of remaining young and alive forever and be amused by their company, but the second keeping them comes at the cost of her own pursuits she'll either get rid of them entirely (Even if with a moment's hesitation), or be willing to imprison them forever because she cares more about that than them.
I'm curious if the show will incorporate major aspects from Serena Valentio's 'Mother Knows Best' novel about Gothel

I have this theory... What if Cass was stolen too. Think about it. Gothel only loved herself too much to love anyone else enough to have a child. It would a bigger twist that not only was Cass stolen too, but is also Eugene's twin sister.
I think it's pretty obvious that Cass and Gothel are related, They act similar, the look similar they have the same personality and Disney actually confirmed that Gothel is Cass's mother. No more of this 'oh I don't think that Gothel is Cass's real mother' crap The similarities between them are just too many. Not just physical but attitude-wise and personality-wise.

Well, I think Gothel was like a wicked stepmother 2 Rapunzel. Or maybe a godmother, coz her original name, Dame Gothel, means godmother.
Mother Gothel's mysterious past makes me believe even more that she is The Evil Queen from Snow White and The Seven Dwarves who supposedly survided her fall at the cliff when she tried to smash the Dwarves with a massive rock.

I think the reason she wanted to stay alive was because she was self absorbed and she wanted to help Zahan tiri
She probably cut the bridge when the guards saw her because she wanted them to take Cass away
And when she leaves Rapunzel alone in the tower she goes back to the cabin to try and reveal more about the damanatis scroll which could help Zahan tiri in some way
So what I'm trying to say is I don't think she was all evil
She had some good in her
She took care of Cass and Rapunzel (she wasn't the nicest while doing this but still)
She may have not wanted Cass to be alone so she cut the bridge when she did so they would take her
But she was definitely more evil then nice
Theory:
Not only was Cass always destined to be the Moonstone (yes, it suits her, always has. Zan Tiri’s just manipulating that-go figure), but Gothel intentionally impregnated herself while treating herself with the Sundrop to have Cass literally bred and groomed to be the Moonstone Vessel.
If Arianna hadn’t eaten the sundrop while pregnant with Raps and passed it onto Raps, Gothel probably would’ve done the same thing, thus having both Vessels within her grasp. (And if forced to choose? She chose the one that literally had her lifeforce tethered vs the biological daughter being groomed to become a living weapon.)
Which...yep, Gothel doing so much research on both the Sundrop and Moonstone gives credence to her visiting the Dark Kingdom and more than likely seducing a widowed&isolated King Edmund to further up the chances for Future!Cass to survive becoming the Moonstone.
If Gothel’s anything, she’s a planner. And this answers WHY she even had a child vs aborting, murdering, or abandoning them IF she didn’t already have her own birthcontrol. (It’s also possible that Cass wasn’t the first child she “raised”, just “perfected”.)
So...that’d cement Cassandra’s connection to both Rapunzel and Eugene as well. Adopted Sibling, half-sibling. And acts like siblings to both of them in her own way, both good&bad.

(Which...Cass is still very restrained with who she attacks. She only really chucks stones at Raps, but seems to expect Raps to “handle herself”. Everyone else she traps, and only truly gets violent when a) Zhan Tiri’s riding her/she’s agitating herself, b) expects Raps to save whoever would otherwise die from Cass’s actions (and take advantage of Rap’s distraction or mercy).
(If Cass ever did truly hurt someone, she’d be devastated. But it might also finally be her wakeup call since she refuses to listen to Raps or Varian. Ooooor, trap Cass and Eugene with eachother next. That might work, especially since they don’t pull punches with eachother verbally, and *were* actually getting along and supporting eachother and becoming quite the Dream Team with Raps...welllll until Adira popped up (and manipulated both Raps and Cass and hell even Eugene in her own way for a plan to “neutralize” things that...probably would’ve ultimately killed Raps. So. Eugene was willing to betray to save, Cass ultimately saved by betraying. Ey, look. More parallels.)

I'm surprised she didn't just dig up the flower and transplant it into a pot or plant it near the tower. The latter idea seems like it would work. High mountains surrounding it with the only entrance being a tunnel covered by vines.
You truly make amazing videos for this series. I have a few thoughts on this episode. 1. It showed how dedicated Gothel was to Zantiri since I think the sun drop incantation writing relates to a desire to free their master. 2. Rapunzel's magic hair might not be accidental or Cass was born for a particular reason. Either to take on the sun drop or be a vessel for Zantiri. Hell, maybe even Gothel if she thought taking over her daughter's body would bring about eternal youth.
So I have this theory:
We all see how self-absorbed Gothel are/were...then WHY, get a child? When you CLEARLY don't want one...!?
So I thought what if Cassandra and Rapunzel were kinda connected by destiny from the beginning?
So assuming that mother Gothel were able to see Zhan Tiri as well, in the same way that Cass can. Then what if Gothel were ordered by ZT to get a child, who would become the holder of the moon stone, or the sundrop. The main goal is to get ZT back to the real dimension, to take over the world. And ever since he/she were revealed, it seemed like ZT knew a LOT about everything. a little more than a being who has been locked away in another dimension should be able to know. He/she knew exactly how to get back to the real world. By the clash of the sundrop and moon stones full powers.
Which ZT achieves through manipulation from both sites, by deviding Cass and Raps. The two holders of the sundrop and moonstone.
so what if her plan was to have Gothel get a child (which as you can see she really enjoys the duties of motherhood). Maybe ZT knew a child would be born soon after in Corona who could be used as well, and then ZT manipulated king frederick, in a dream like he/she does to Varian, to find the sundrop and use it to save his child and wife. Well knowing the child would get the powers from the sundrop. Which is much better since a flower would not by it's own design be able to use its powers, and are very fragile. So a human host would be better for the plan.
Then when Gothel kidnapped Rapunzel I could imagine ZT telling Gothel to leave Cassandra behind, knowing Cass would be left with some emotional scars, that later could be used.
All of what have happened could be because of the masterplan of Zhan Tiri. Clearly a very powerful and clever being. I don't think ZT knows EVERYTHING but, I think ZT are clever enought to look at situations and make plans accordingly, then manipulate the situation to go his/hers way.
As we see in the episode ' a tale of two sisters', you see ZT knew all along exactly how Gothel felt about Cassandra, and even knew about the mirrors and memories. So I personally think ZT and Gothel have been communicating together, also working together to get ZT back to their world. ZT may not have told Gothel everything about his/hers plan but, I don't think Gothel would care about using her children as pawn, since we clearly see her doing that all by her own will.
Honestly I think Cass is being naive because she thinks her Mother had the slightest bit of love for her when there so much evidence that proves otherwise like the mirrors, the sun drop papers and the fact she abandoned her

Wasn't Gothel a disciple of Demanetus? We did see her silhouette when she was explaining how his pupils betrayed him for Zhan Tiri.
Honestly I'm hoping that one of Cass, Rapunzel, or Varian finds the mirror shard. I know it would really hurt Cass to know the truth about that mirror but the truth is better than any lie. I hope after that Cass will hopefully go back to Rapunzel maybe to apologize for how she acted at the ending of the 14th episode of the third season and how she realized she was wrong about it. Then hopefully Rapunzel can not only forgive her but also tell her the truth about the 'Enchanted girl' and then she can hopefully switch sides. Because we saw how powerful the MoonStone and SunDrop/Cass and Rapunzel are working together during the 14th episode And I would love to see that at the end of the series and perhaps even then their teamwork isn't enough to defeat Zhan Tiri and so in a daring moment Rapunzel gives Cassandra the SunDrops power and she can defeat Zhan Tiri and truly fulfill her destiny and no longer be waiting in the wings! Cass is my favorite so I may be biased but still I hope that's what happens!! Also that would explain why Rapunzel's hair is back to normal during the wedding and maybe Cass is out defending the world from evil and visiting Corona whenever she gets a break which would explain her absence from the wedding! :>

Nice video, Isaac. Each video you make always gets me hyped to see new ones in the future. I wanna tell you something I realized about Cassandra. Whenever I watch Season 3 of Tangled the Series, I can't help but think of another show. Avatar the Last Air-bender. I also saw your video on Zuko's mother and I think it'd be cool if you made another Avatar video. Also, the reason watching these Tangled the Series episode made me think of Avatar the Last Airbender was because Cassandra actually strikes me as being very similar to Zuko. Both characters would go to any lengths to achieve what they believe to be their destinies, and they've both betrayed people who were close to them in hopes of getting where they wanted to go. But hey, this is just me. Maybe you could at some point make a full story on characters like Aang or Katara. It's just a suggestion though.

I have tried so hard to describe why Gothel is so dangerous and so powerful as a villain, and your video covers everything. She is dangerous because she truly doesn't care about anyone but herself and doesn't think twice about using others to get what she wants and uses her words to break people down and manipulate them.

I want to know why Gothel ever even had a child...I mean after living for hundreds of years presumably, she suddenly decides to have a kid that she can't stand to have around? I feel like there's more importance to Cassandra's birth, perhaps her father was Zantiri or some other powerful being and she was meant to fulfill a purpose for Gothel that somehow never happened...
I have a theory that connects to Gothel being a minion of Zhan Tiri and she made a deal with him to use her own magic(which would explain why we don't see Gothel as a spirit) create her own child(like Magica and Lena) to later be used by Zhan Tiri as a pawn to bring Zhan Tiri back to the real world and to carry out their plans.
But that's just a theory.

Clearly Gothel was a self absorbed little monster who made it her priority to have others be dependent on her. If anyone finds that shard especially Cass then it's all over for Zhan Tiri.
I really love this series. It's the best in a long time. I don't follow a lot of Disney movie/series as it's never the same as the movie. But this one was amazing made me feel like a kid again.
why did Gothel die when Rapunzel's hair was cut, she still had the sun-drop, and if thats how it works why didn't she die when they cut the flower and gave it to the queen? the sun-drop only gave her youth her life wasn't linked to it, and why wasn't she brought back to life when the sun-drop came "back"? if her life was linked to the sun-drop that means that any kind of healing that it did before should've been revoked, meaning it doesn't make sense that Eugene was healed. Gothel dying just doesn't make any sense.

Second it kinda alludes to what I've been theorizing myself.
I believe that Gothel was a student of Damanitus but only wanted to find a way to stay young and alive. Zhan Tiri used this and may have influenced her to betray D in exchange for eternal life if she found the flower first.
But if what we saw in the movie was true Gothel was an old woman when she found it and used it to stay young herself, thus breaking her promise to ZT.
She may have also studied the moon opal in case it also contained a way to stay immortal.

I have a feeling that we still have a lot to learn about Mother Gothal. One good example of this is with Gothal clearly being a follower of Zhan Tiri we still have to learn her non-human name as we did with Sugarbee and again with Matthew. We also have to learn just what her role in Zhan Tiri's scheme was and how that role was to help Zhan Tiri. Although the more that I think about the show and how it presents it's information and it's story the more that I believe that Gothal isn't just a follower of Zhan Tiri, but that she could also possibly be a shadowy creation of Zhan Tiri - she could perhaps even a shadow person for all we know-. The reason that I think this is because if you take a closer look at how the show presents it's story, lore and information most of the time when Gothal is needed she always makes an entrance by one of two methods which was either in the shadows or all covered-up. If this is the case, Zhan Tiri could have created Gothal to do her own dirty-work and to act as a spy and even possibly a thief on Lord Demanitus. Sadly though, if this theory is true than it also means that since Cassandra has at least half of Gothal's genes that she would be at least half shadowy creation too. However all of that is only one possibility. This isn't set in stone.

As for what Zhan Tiri's plan is, I'm mostly not sure however, with what she warned Rapunzel about with an eclipse coming, it's possible that she meant a double meaning. One interpretation being the take-over of Corona (remember Cass is after everything that Rapunzel has) and another centering on Zhan Tiri returning to her true (final) form or maybe even both at the same-time.
