I'm not surprised, the moment I first watched Tangled the series and after watching your theory video of Cassandra being Gothel's biological daughter I knew there were some similarities between the both of them in terms of personality and appearance.

I almost cried when I saw this scene. I feel so bad for Cassandra.
I did cry...
I did too, but I think Cass actually got the better deal she was raised by someone who really loved her and Raps was raised by someone who only pretended to love her and that she used to manipulate only too keep herself young. Rapunzel's life was hell with Gothel. Rapunzel didn't even know what real love was until she met Eugene and he showed her what real love was and Cass was loved growing up.

@@hannahskeldon7944 Me too. I don't like how Cassandra can flat out say Rapunzel had it better than she did. Cassandra knows Rapunzel's situation and what she went through. Rapunzel was STOLEN from her parents and isolated, lied to, and psychologically abused by Gothel for 18 years of her life. I get that Cassandra's abandonment is horrifying and I feel sorry for her too; but how can Cassandra say Rapunzel's the one who had everything and Cassandra had nothing. In Cassandra's case it's almost like she was given up by her evil, unfit parent; but in place of that she was adopted by a dad who was nurturing, a good father who was very proud of her throughout the series and encouraged her all the time. Gothel treated Raps like a caged bird rather than a daughter.
Theory: What if Gothel created Cassandra to see if the effects of the golden flower would pass to her biological child?

@@lucidfangirl1030 She had to visit the flower fairly regularly to keep her youth and there's no reason why she couldn't have had Cassandra more recently.
Amber Goldsmith That’s very unlikely because for one Gothel NEVER had the idea that the flower’s powers could be passed down to your offspring since that only happened ONCE to Rapunzel who was born AFTER Cassandra was. And she wouldn’t have any need to do that since all she did was just use the flower to de-age herself, she doesn’t need to pass the flower onto her just to do that. And that would require her to CONSUME the flower which definitely didn’t happen because the flower was clearly still around when Gothel gave birth to Cassandra. And that would be a huge risk to her since she had no idea that could be possible. Overall it’s just more likely that Cassandra was an unplanned child.

Also this revelation makes me go from hating Gothel in the original movie to REALLY hating her for what she did to Cassandra. I do feel like in the end Cass got lucky she didn't grow up with Gothel as a mother since Rapunzel's childhood was traumatic and lonely and isolating, where as Cass grew up in Corona and had a dad who cared about her and treated her better than Gothel did.

Nightman221k Yeah seeing that kinda makes me wonder how Cassandra seriously gotten the idea that “Wow Rapunzel was SO lucky and I wasn’t.” when she was being KIDNAPPED FROM HER PARENTS in that moment. It really makes me lose a lot of sympathy for Cassandra since this really comes off as self centered since she’s only focusing on the fact that HER mother abandoned HER for the sake of keeping Rapunzel and not the fact that Rapunzel was kidnapped by her. It really makes her look bad when she gets pissy at her for it to the point that she backstabs her.
@@ryancarson6962 Same. Before all this, Cassandra was my favorite but now I'm worried about the direction the show is taking her. When Cassandra's song has her talking about how Raps has all the blessings and glory and she's left with scraps it makes me think Cassandra's self-centered to have that view of Rapunzel. It feel like because Rapunzel is a princess and Cassandra is her lady-in-waiting Cassandra sees her as overshadowing her. Ignoring that her best friend didn't have the best life and resenting her for having (long overdue) happiness is troubling.
But she doesn't see that because she's crazy AND stupid.
@@Nightman221k I think you guys are failing to recognize just how much pain messes with your head. Years upon years of being overlooked can really wear you down, and it's really easy to let that pain cloud your judgment. I think this development is actually good for Cassandra's character. It shows that she's human. She's not perfect. She jumps to conclusions and she makes mistakes. She's being selfish, yes, but under the circumstances, is it really that surprising? She spent the first four years of her life being neglected and abused by someone she loved, and the next twenty feeling like nothing that she did even mattered and that no matter how hard she tried, it was never good enough. Sure, Rapunzel had it much worse, but that doesn't mean that Cass didn't have problems of her own. Plus, Cass never saw how Gothel abused Rapunzel close up. I think, if she'd actually SEEN it, she might look at Rapunzel in a different light. As it is, all she's seen is the beloved princess with a wonderful family who seems to be good at everything and never seems to have to try to succeed, and for someone who has spent their whole life trying and failing, that can be stifling. It doesn't make what Cassandra's doing RIGHT, not at all. But it still warrants sympathy.
I think if Cass is redeemed it'll actually be EUGENE will be the one who got through to her. They were both abandoned by there parents+ (even if it was for completly different reasons and Eugene wasn't REALLY abandoned.)
Eugene knows how it feels to be abandoned and he's gotten through it. So if I think I she is redeemed he will be her through it
Cormac Crowley narratively, that makes the most sense since she always disliked him. it would be "highly unlikely" in disney's eyes and a good ending if they decide cass gets a redemption

What's even more heartbreaking is the fact that Zahn Tiri's little ghost minion knew where to hit Cass and is using that to gain her trust. At the end "The Return of the King", we see that Cass' new-found powers are mainly activated by and solely dependent on her negative emotions, not when she's calm. Her burnt hand isn't "fixed" by the moonstone either. So, she can't manipulate the black rocks or do anything really. With Little Ghost Minion being in the s3 opening credits, she'll definitely have more scenes with Cass, most likely insisting Cass rely on her insecurities and trauma so that she remains desperate to get what she thinks she wants. I really hope the Captain of the Guards finds her so we can get a parallel-of-sorts and attempt to get through to her. And even if he fails, it'd be interesting.
I didn’t realize Cass literally watched her mother abandon her, that’s so much worse. If Gothel had any final words for her daughter, they’d probably be “You were an adequate meatshield, and no one can ever take that away from you.”

I think it was very cleverly set up how Cassandra was always cast in Rapunzel’s shadow, and therefore took the moonstone to contrast her sundrop. The moon’s glow only comes from the sun’s light, and without it the moon would be dark, but because of that, while the sun has no shadow, the moon has a shadow that gets larger with time. Cassandra is constantly seen as only being needed when with Rapunzel, and her own accomplishments are constantly shadowed by her best friend’s on a larger and larger scale, she is Rapunzel’s lady in waiting, loses a contest to Rapunzel, has her decisions overlooked in favor of what Rapunzel says, and the last straw is when she realizes that she was even orphaned in favor of Rapunzel. Just as the moon is always chasing the sun, Cass is always trying to keep up with Rapunzel, only to be shadowed by her at every turn.
The question is whether they will continue to move around each other, never fully meeting in the middle again, or will they eclipse by the end, coming together to make a beautiful sight together??

I want it acknowledged, even if it's just once in the whole season, that the Captain contributed to Cassandra going down this dark path. Gothel made her believe love was something she had to earn, and the Captain, while the better parent, clearly knew more about training soldiers than raising a kid. He never let himself be vulnerable around Cass long enough to tell her he would love her even if she didn't try so hard to be like him.

C) We never knew her mother

Also, I think that the Captain of the Guard is Cassandra's true father in biological therms, and possibly he was once Gothel's lover. Also, the captain possibly betrayed Gothel into revealing the whereabouts of the Sun Drop Flower, since if Gothel abandoned the captain when she was pregnant, he forgot the location of the tower where possibly he and Gothel had meetings.

From the very beginning of Tangled the series I always was like, "Cass looks like Gothel in color scheme and her main outfit even has the same color as Gothel's dress... something's clearly up here." So I kind of dreaded the revelation that, indeed, it was intentional, because I love the friendship between Cass and Raps... but actually seeing this now I found that it wasn't as bad or odd as I thought it would have been. I love Cass as a character so I can get used to this revelation.
Man so much happened in the season premiere! On one hand, Cass has gone awol, and that sucks, on the other hand, Varian has been redeemed, and Quirin is free from his amber prison!
Alexis Alonso It was too soon than I hoped for Quirin to be free. But I’m glad it’s over. Just didn’t expect the dark incantation to work and not the healing incantation.
@@manuelorozco7760 that's funny, my theory was that they were going to use the dark incantation to free Quirin, which made sense to me because when Varian was using Rapunzel's hair to try and free Quirin he was using the healing incantation which didn't work, and the opposite of that is the dark incantation which withers things away

I actually have a little theory about Gothel after she left Cass
Rapunzel was always left in the tower by herself while Gothel was out and she had no idea where her “mother” was going
I think Gothel was going out to try and find Cass because that is her daughter after all
Gothel may be heartless sometimes but in the season 3 episode it did look like she cared and was trying to take Cassandra with her but when Cassandra pointed her out she had to run or else she would have gone to jail for kidnapping Rapunzel

Rose Quarts is just an idea of a revolution that failed, the actual Rose Quarts, which I believe there are hundreds or thousands of them, were bubbled up and blamed for Pink’s war crimes, which in future episodes I think those Rose Quarts would return to want revenge for what his mother Pink did to them....

YES! I can't wait for the next video about varian. I felt so good when I saw that he turned back to that nice sweet boy that we all loved! I think Varian is a very cool and complex character in the series. I personally think of him as one of the best characters!

Honestly, I think this explains the reason why she betrayed Rapunzel. I looked at the song Waiting in the Wings, and also the fan made version, and it showed how constantly Cass was being overlooked by others. And you're video on how their relationship kept breaking bit by bit showed too. She was so fed up with being looked as 2nd best, she felt like she was a supporting role in her movie and others, which harbored a jealousy and made her feel bitter. So, when she found out that her own mother, who paid more attention to Rapunzel than she ever did her, and left her, because of Rapunzel's powerful hair, that must've been the last straw. It hits so hard when your own blood turns against you, or views you as second best to your friend who keeps accidentally overshadowing you. I think that hit Cass pretty hard, which is why she is so resentful of Rapunzel now.

I feel like the moon stone is symbolic to Cassandra. The moonstone was forced into being in one place and waited to be reunited with the sunflower. Like Cassandra she was neglected and kept waiting for that time to come. The sunflower is a symbiotic to rapunzel she was loved and everyone gravitated towards her but at times she was used as a tool. Everyone choose rapunzel while everyone forgot Cassandra
I’m still shocked. How old was Mother Gothel when she gave birth? Who is the father? Why do you think Gothel kept the flower. I think it was because she wanted to be able to see her daughter to grow up, but decided that she rather let someone else take care of her daughter because she thought it would be to hard to care of two children. I am sorry if I spelt anything wrong.
I think that it’s because of the flower that she gave birth to a clone of herself. The flower gave her extra life which formed into a baby.

when Cassandra's past was revealed to be the daughter of mother Gothel, the first thing that came to mind was "I knew it, I'm not surprised" but then I remembered your first video on the matter and I thought "wotsos videos was straight on with his theory 👏👏"
that's so amazing and impressive you were able to theorize long before the reveal, and ik you weren't the only one to have this theory since many fans like myself had a feeling it was most likely that was casandra's past, but you were able to theorize a lot more small details from deep observation and to that I just gotta give you prompts for! I haven't watched the series. But I kept up with some of the story. I called it that Cass was Mother Gothels daughter and was out for revenge.
The montage of Cass after she stole the Moonstone reminded me of Elsa's Let It Go...

I love Mother Gothel so much, you need to read the book Mother Knows Best. It is so amazing and heartwarming. It gives reason into why Gothel is the way she is. It gives a background and *teardrop falls* shows that she actually has emotions. Even though the book is published by Disney when the story gets into the present time of Rapunzel the story kind of cancels each other out but it's still an amazing book. Seeing Gothel as a mother is heartbreaking and it's because of that book. It wouldn't be if I hadn't have read that book.

I watch your previous video on the theory of Mother Gothel being her mother and I agreed completely. But now, I got ask what could Cassandra's end goal be? I mean, she want to be a hero, a knight, an authority figure, but going evil or bad, not going to get that for her. She wants to be in the spot light, but how? She doesn't want to conquer the world. She can't really save the world from an evil that doesn't really exist, so being a hero wouldn't work, plus the whole steal the moonstone kind of stops her. I'd like to know what she truly wants and plans on doing?
Yeah, I'm curious where her character goes from here and if she even knows herself what she wants to do.
