If you can afford a few the lemurs can be a great way to make some quick conservation credits. They breed like mad, grow up quickly, don't cost a crazy amount to keep alive and you can put like a hundred in one enclosure between the three species

I think what would be a great addition to planet zoo would be a farm pack ( sheep, ducks, chickens, cows, bulls, goats, cats, donkeys, pigs, rabbits, turkeys and an exhibit animal like the water snake) or a mountain pack ( eagle, wolverine, chinchilla, moth) or a bird pack ( tucan, and Atlantic puffin. instead of having to put the birds inside a box like the bats, we could create huge domes and put the birds in there and create butterfly gardens

just a point of criticism... having an "Everything" workzone works exactly the same as having NO workzone... each keeper/vet/caretaker can roughly handle 3 habitats... if you make workzones tailored to that ability your staff works far more efficient (the huge walking distances add significantly to the high workload of your staff... having smaller workzones will reduce the walking distances and the work load)... just have 3 habitats (you can add up to 3 exhibits to a zone, but then it'll need a second keeper occasionally)... for each workzone add a staff building & a keepers' hut... if you want fast research done by a vet you need to place a Research center in the middle of a workzone, and then when those animals are fully researched (including bonus research) you can move the Research center to the next workzone and assign the vet to the next workzone... with those more limited-size workzones you can have a huge zoo with 30 different habitats/exhibits and only have 10 top-trained keepers and just 5 vets (less if you've finished all research)... this is what I've found out from many hours of Planet Zoo gameplay in franchise mode... also... benches aren't required at all for guests happiness... especially when your zoos are still small you don't need them at all... most of my franchise zoos are fairly sizeable (at least 30 species or more) which are set-up very spaciously... I only have tables & seats at food courts... and my guest happiness is 100%... when you're just starting a zoo don't throw money at stuff you don't need yet... benches are something you can add at a far later stage when your zoo is earning you loads and loads of money and you can spend more time at making your zoo look pretty...another tip for fast money is to plonk at least 2 exhibits in your zoo with boa constrictors and other snake-species that have huge longevity... and then set the exhibits to automatically sell the youngster for money... this will take care of itself and generate a relatively large money-stream for your zoo... which you can use for buying new habitat animals and stuff like that...

Thanks for your input! 😘 When planet zoo launched in 2019 it was not possible to set up a zoo without a workzone, staff didnt know what to do and animals always died because no workzone was set up, so ever since I am used to making workzones and an everything workzone. Obviously for a breeding zo like this all you need is 1 workzone unless your breeding zoo gets bigger, but in my other franchise series I have several 😊

This is probably the best video i've came across. I just started one of these on my console edition & its going crazy!
Gathered 3500+ conservation points, breeding is going on 24/7 & the park is almost at 5 stars just under 20 hours of gameplay🎉
This set me up perfectly for opening another zoo where i can focus more on the details & whatever animals i want.
All the breeding is helping but Capybaras, Warthogs, Sunbears, Nile Monitors, Black Bears are all super useful. The sun bears get ALOT of points for one also!

I find artic foxes and red pandas are the fastest when it comes to breeding and selling for money or conservation credits. Accidentally left my zoo playing for some time and lost TONS of money and had to spend a lot of my credits to earn it back. My arctic foxes and red pandas were cheap to keep in the zoo and earned me a nice chunk back.
Some other animals that breed easily for myself and are worth selling at also dall sheep. you can have lots of females--there are a lot of smaller herbivores that have similar herd set ups (1 male, a lot of females). Even if the animals aren't worth much in the shop I can still release them to the wild for a small bit. Dall sheep are worth more than the springbok or sable antelope but have similar group size which is why i prefer them.
but hands down arctic foxes and red pandas have been my best sellers all around, grow up fast, can have multiple babies, need small hab space. Theres no need for a whole group of adult foxes either since on the alpha pair breed so just put one male one female of each in one hab and sell babies

  • @ReneeScarted
    @ReneeScarted Před rokem +16

I love this tutorial, thank you! Something I hoped would be in the tutorial but wasn't is how to manage the babies, e.g. if you want to breed the babies down the line to have better quality animals and to keep bloodlines, as animals die off after a while so I imagine it's useful to keep future breeding stock. And, maybe, herd animals, as some can only have 1 male, and I think I saw a solution where you keep a bachelor pen and change the male every once in a while. So yeah, overall, how to manage offspring you keep to avoid inbreeding and raise the quality of the animals (does that worth more credits?), is something that would be great to see maybe in a 2nd part to this video, but it definitely gave me a good idea how to start out with a breeding zoo and what's a good layout for it to fit a lot of animals in an efficient way.

It's also super important to look at age. That Jaguar that was on the market for 500 was old, and didn't have many years left. You probably could have gotten away with the 800+, depending on genetics and the fact that your Jaguar was only 3 years old... vs the 21yo on the market.

One minor point; If you are starting your first Franchise Zoo, or have never done any research, you won't have one-way glass unlocked. You will need to do Mechanic Research in the Barrier section until it unlocks, i believe it's the 5th level of research.
Selling animals on the Trade Market: Males take the longest to sell and often sells lower than what the game sets. Females are easier to sell and mostly sell for what the game sets. The color variants of animals sell the fastest and can often be soled for double what the game sets. Also age, quality and rarity plays into how fast and how much you can sell an animal for. EX. A 2 year old gold quality albino female Platypus would have a great chance of selling for 3-4 times the price the game suggests.

    Great video, still holds up
but there is one thing I like to mention: in my franchise breeding I have found an additional factor when it comes to breeding (for huge amounts of cc, for context I have 1,6 milion) and that is that there is also demand and competition to take into account, if you breed something like lions (what most people recommend), you can run into problems selling them on the market for the default price. So if you are breeding it also matters how rare the animal is, and when you are breeding albinos its even more important.

I really like the game but even after first 10 hours it's clear that theres no end content or goal, or any different modes from vanilla game, which makes this game 2 dimensional af :<
And yes for a game + all dlcs is like 200+£ so I would expect not to run through the game so quick, which is 10h +/-

Im a bit confused about your comment 🙈 There is career mode, challenge mode, timed scenarios, franchise mode and sandbox mode (of which the last one you can choose what challenges and management settings are turned on so how you want to play the game) 😊 There are plenty of things to do in this game, but indeed there is no end goal or content apart from finishing a good running zoo I guess? Unless you are play career mode which I would highly recommended playing first when just starting the game 😊

lol. Cute, but you don't have to worry about being cruel to 1's & 0's.. They're already cruel to us, anyway.

Interrestingly enough, the lion's life expectancy is 14 years and his age of sexual sterility is 15 years. So who can tell me, what's wrong with this picture?
