Anyone who likes these guys (most people listening to this, seemingly), go buy and listen to their albums- No spoilers, but if you haven't heard them yet, each song gets a whole other meaning when coupled with the other songs that they've been put with. The sticks, in particular, is very interesting in terms of composition - it's arguably a concept album, and quite an excellent piece, artistically.
Youve just convinced me to buy all their albums.
They are all really awesome. The Sticks is a concept album done right. I'm so proud of them; they're from my neck of the woods.
This Sticks will forever be a favourite of mine! Great Album, and "The Sticks" is such a beautiful song

I haven't heard this song or this band in years. Pisses me off greatly that the commercial music industry would keep people from listening to such talent.
Ironically tiktok gave them a lot of visibility, I hate TikTok, but when verbatim got popular there it was impossible to not listen to that song, so after somer research I'm now a big fan xD
To be fair Canadian musicians don't make it outside Canada very often, and when they do it isn't a tragically hip,or mother mother.

@@samanthaquezada4405 OKAY MIND MY LANG BUT HOLY FUCK I DIDN'T THINK YOU'D SEE IT! YEAH! IT'S AMAZING THAT SOME OF THERE SONGS JUST BLEW UP!
that voice is coming from his face? wow!
good band
For 10 years I always assumed a woman sang this song. They must have tweaked his voice or something in post, no? Doesn't sound like the way he sings in most other songs I've heard...
@@evanwakelin7944I think it might be because in the chorus with the "oooold soul" bits, that's mostly the girls singing and then Ryan just has a quieter lower harmony? You're right, I think you can hear the girls more in this one, which is fab cause they get a chance to shine. I also think any differences in his pitch throughout is probably just because this is from when he was much younger 😄
@@jeffblimsfalcetto3748 maybe because there are three voices, Ryan, Molly and one from Debra Jean Creelman, who is no longer in the band, that’s the diferent voice there.
Normally I listen to a lot of Death Metal, but when I don't I listen to Mother Mother.
why did I have to be a toddler when all the good music was made
It's a real shame that you never get the full play of this magnificent tune on the radio.
Bravo Mother Mother, this album will always be a killer
By far my favourite Mother Mother song.

this band found like the perfect pocket, the way they harmonize with each other. the way the instruments compliments each other… gahhh
loved this band since middle school man, they changed my life
Omg, this band and especially this song are so awesome!. The chorus when they all harmonize together is just AMAZING! oh yeah, Ryan Guldemond on lead guitar and Mike Young on bass are kick ass!
Actually until No Culture, it was Jeremy Page as bassist.
I love the early music they have, and how they don’t have curse words, very easy to rock to them.
'Like a pile of shit I cant seem to forget
@@NoDream424 They make it graciously.
@Mirko B Hoble that doesn't change the fact that they do curse. Not a bad thing, but OP was implying it was a bad thing and how they were happy that they don't, when they do.

I am glad these guys never sold out and lost their souls for music.
im just discovering the fact that mother mother has a lot more music videos than i expected
11 años y aun lo sigo escuchando.
The craziest thing is that while this is a catchy song for sure, the whole album is even more AWESOME!!! As a huge new music junkie, I can say with confidence that "O My Heart" may be one of the best North American efforts in four or five years. It will be one of only a handful that I actually go out and buy on CD, which says a lot!!!
Talented, intelligent, song-writer, musician, charismatic, speaks with an actual wide vocabulary and we can't forget wonderfully attractive. More men need to be like Ryan Guldemond.

oh god- I'm from Spain too *grita(?*
I had been walking all over Milan while listening repeatedly to this song, still really can't get this out of my head, so infectuous....
Mother Mother to me is the best band ever in engineering the different levels and layers of voices to turn it into pleasing complicated twisted Acapella like choruses sometimes

I could've discovered Mother Mother in my teens, twenties or thirties and still loved them.
I'll never get sick of this beautiful song.
Watching this for the nostalgia. I remember the first time I saw Mother Mother live would have been a Peak Performance Project event in 2010? (or 2009... it was whatever the first year that they did it). Damn, I am right in my bedroom again listening to the radio and listening.
no the blonde and the lead singer are brother and sister. You can find a pretty cool interview with the two of them together somewhere on youtube.
Gotta say Burning Pile! Or hayloft.. or Simply Simple... Can't choose one that's too hard
ya Mother Mother i saw them last night and got my phone and ticket signed by them there my favorite band !!!!
I got goosebumps, and I NEVER get goosebups.
How am I just now finding this awesome band?! I freaking love this song and this whole album! I’m so sad I didn’t discover them sooner but so happy I found them now!!! I’ve been so starved for good music and this is just what I needed! I’m listening to this whole album on repeat!!! I love this band!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely beautiful, wasn't sold the first time I listened to it, or even the first few times, but now, this is a staple on any playlist.
I discovered this group a few months ago, on the XM radio station, ' The Verge ' . They play a lot of good music and a lot of Mother Mother. I've purchased 3 of their cds. I never get tired of them. I'm still in awe of how immensely talented they are. If I told you how old I am, you probably wouldn't believe me. Let's just say that I remember sitting on the living room floor, watching The Beatles make their American debut. I can't till they return to SF.
saw them yesterday. met all of them. What a great group of individuals. all very humble. got my shirt signed. Just Awesome!
