Am I the only one who thinks that the tv versions lowkey look a lot better?
Yeah there are some visual improvements like the blood color change but most of the changes are worse
mappa is so bad at blu ray changes it makes no sense, theres always a bunch of obvious imporvements but then theres also SO many changes that are just complete downgrades. The blue filter when everyone is grabbing the hallucigenia looks awful and you cant even see whats going on, the blurred underwater hallucigenia is also so blurry it looks like a 480p video, you cant see a thing when falco is flying away behind him, erens head being blown off is just less animated and for some reason his face is more skin coloured instead of the white its meant to be

8:14 If you pay attention to the sequence that shows Armin's face and back in his colossal version, you will see that in the TV version they tried to give an impression of 2d animation, and they succeeded.
But in the Blu-Ray version They added a lot of brightness and details to the Titan, and removed the 2d animation style from the scene, making us more aware that it is a 3d model.

and at 5:57 they do the same thing, it honestly looks worse now because armin's titan is just so out of place in the lighting. before it looked alot more cinematic and finished. now it looks sloppy tbh

@@adrianmartinezaguirre3003 but they really intended that, if you compare, you will see that Armin's face and features are colossal in the TV version, you will see that it looks like a 2d animation, but in the Blu-ray version they don't the same care, e and removed the less detailed style (2d) for this super detailed Armin but without the charm of a 2d animation

@@boydudereviews cool. Someone who bought and watched the first disc of the blu ray said it's full of cuts that were not shown on air and some battle scenes were replaced so I'm excited and impatient to see them.
They shouldn't add yellow or blue filter which was not in the TV version 😢

@@lucianomangroo Bruh I respect the Isayama and all. Attack on titan is still my favorite anime except for the ending. The ending was so trash that Mappa had to cook the ending a bit more but they somehow made it worse than the manga ending. The manga ending was not bad but I still think Eren deserved better. The anime ending was next level garbage
So is the final part not available on DVD in english? I have all the seasons i just need the last part to finish my collection
The TV versions of the 3D titans are better looking, too much detail and you can spot the 3D model without even trying

Director hayashi and director of photography are really the worst. They sucked out the life out of the AOT world, using the excuse of the "cinematic blablabla". This is not cinematic, this is just mediocre composition IMO

I wish they had didn’t have such a beautiful bright green sky. I doesn’t suit the vibe of what’s happening and the series, along with making such an intense situation feel more light hearted. I wish they had the sky they had during the battle to take back wall Maria but with a red tint. Even the skies toward the end of the battle were great. The realistic touch aot has, is what this lacked.
Well that’s Mappa for you, they hired a$$ director who hasn’t worked on a big project before, I can only imagine how beautiful it would be if it was from Wit.
I don't think it made it feel more light hearted, but i do agree with you and that's actually a criticism i never thought about. I'd wonder why they went with the green.
@@Rayan.7I honestly think Mappa made it look far better. WIT had a sort of childish look to characters. Mappa was way more accurate to manga. Plus the darker tone of the drawings suited S4 much better
@@Rayan.7and even though a lot will prob disagree.. Some cgi titans look WAY better. Look at Erens titan in S3 vs S4. Reiners transformations go hard af with Mappa too tbf. Mappa jud gets mad hate because you people want to romanticize WIT ( Which is also amazing)
@@markmyers4760 the only things that put wit over mappa for me is the stylistic approach that they took. Tho there are so many fantastically animated scenes, the style that they incorporate SOMETIMES doesn’t really fit the tone (ex: Eren and Armin final scene). Same goes for this final battle scene. Also, idk what it is, but I think mappa’s animation looks kinda flat, but lmk what you think. I do like how they they made some character designs better and how they made it more accurate to the manga. If anything, think mappa did a better job on JJK and csm.
