Literally LOLed at the man's pronunciation of "ibuprofen" at the 6:18 mark. 😆

iBYOOpruhf'n
This man ran hard for a long time to just eat a bowl of corn flakes.....😭😭😂😂🤣🤣
DeBarge singing in that McDonald's commercial....made me smile and made me sad at the same time. I still listen to them. They were and are great.
I was born in July of 84, and love these retro videos. It’s nice to see what was popular/around when I was born!
I was born in 78. I was five going on six years old in 1984 believe it or not.
Wow, a candy bar sold as an athletic snack.
MAN! THESE BRING BACK GREAT MEMORIES! THANK YOU FOR POSTING THESE!
17:10 80s kids wore some of the coolest clothes!!
The Mcdonalds commercial was just so cool.....
Love Commercials From My Childhood ❤️
20:38 one of my favorite comedy films of all time.
Omg the Debarge commercial at the end lol😁
I've been watching ad collections for a few days and several hours. And though 2020 isn't the future my generation thought it would be, no robots, flying cars or space travel like in Back to the future ll or Blade Runner. We did manage to invent a Hi Def portable flat screen we can take and watch anywhere. It's a TV, VCR, camcorder, walkman, arcade and computer even sometimes a phone. This is the MTV generation told by adults we watched too much TV. Ironic? Don't ya think?📱
There is one common denominator in these wonderful commercials....the men and women knew how to dress to accentuate their assets...today no one seems to have any pride of appearance anymore.....
Those Beatrice commercials are so creepy.
from wikipedia: "The campaign was found to alienate consumers, by mispronouncing the name of the founding city, and calling attention to the fact that many of their favorite brands were part of a far-reaching multinational corporation"
I wasn't even *born* yet and I could have told them that. sheesh
"you've known us all along" sounds more like "we've infiltrated your life" than, I guess, "don't be scared" or whatever they were going for
It was an odd strategy, and as I recall it turned people off. If the ads were paid for by competitors to get people to stop buying Beatrice products, it would make some sense.
Charles Napier and Burton Gilliam for Nissan @ 19:04
I do watch that stuff
Dang this is 38 years old today
Those Beatrice commercials popped up and were all over TV for a while. I can really specifically remember what I was doing that month.
That’s the Beatrice commercial at 10:20. This was one of the worst companies of the 80’s that slapped on so many products like Tropicana, Hunts, Peter Pan, Butterball Turkey, Swiss Miss, and lots more under the Beatrice name. That name lasted until 1985 or so when Beatrice dropped its name. Bad move for the ad campaign.
If I remember these multibrand Beatrice ads first aired during the 1984 Olympics, but kept going in some variation for another year. It wasn't a great campaign.
Man...I remember Tawny on ABC news when I was a kid...totally had a crush on her...lol
That was the year the Reagan Revolution was going on.
Good afternoon 😅😅😅 0:46
13:28 the iconic voice of Ed Grover on the Apple IIc commercial.
Straight from right here in Los Angeles. Very nice. Sad what happened to Steve Edwards two years ago. I liked him. Damn #MeToo Movement.
Those old sentimental commercials are still a moving watch today, somehow (especially the one with the soldier on the airplane). The "we exploit town workers but we put on Broadway plays for them!" ad is...not so moving.
UNITED AIRLINES 2:12 28:25 33:49
UNITED AIRLINES 2:12 28:25 33:49
Is that Thomas Wilson (Biff Tanner) @ 4:38?
Yes
How much of this coverage do you have? Would be interested in a copy, if possible. Thanks.
This comes from about three hours worth of coverage, and I've posted a lot of the events and footage over on the Internet Archive under pannoni4.
