How to Upgrade Your BMW Speakers | BimmerTech Alpha One Install

In this video, I upgraded the speakers in my BMW to the Alpha One Driver's Choice speaker kit from BimmerTech. This kit replaces all of the speakers in the front of your BMW including the under seat subwoofers, mid-range door speakers, tweeters, and dash speaker.
My first impression is that there is a lot more clarity in the Alpha One Speakers. The bass is tighter and the highs are noticeably more crisp. I wish that all of you could sit in my car and experience the sound first hand because my little camera mic does not do these speakers justice. Look for a full review soon!

I didn't say it in the video but obviously you will repeat the process for both the driver and passenger side, with the exception of the dash speaker since there is only one. Also, big shoutout to my dad for starring in this. It's not easy being on camera but he did great!

my car doesnt come stock with a dash speaker and tweaters is there wiring for this ? or should I just replace door and sub only

I've had my BMW e90 for close to 2yrs now and I never knew there was subs under the seat and I always thought the vents on the dash was an air vent! Would never of guessed that was a speaker. Everydays a school day.. always learning haha another good clear and informative video! Top work. Watching from england 👍

I feel like your dad's heart stopped for a brief second when that first door trim piece popped off.
Fax, when dad work with me on my car he accidentally broke a trim peace and he felt bad and about cried...I about cried too because he said “I messed up you’re toy” but I told him it was completely fine, I’ve broken many things of his when I was younger. I feel I would bawl my eyes out too if I messed something up that belonged to my kid.

What a great comparison between the old and new! Given Justin's disclaimer about sound quality loss through numerous processes and his use of a good microphone (IMO) in a variety of perspectives, my decent Klipsch & Marantz system were able to help me distinguish a mid-range missing in my M240i's Harman Kardon that seemed filled in the BimmerTech Alpha One. What a great way to compare car speakers for an online review. It should be a standard. Cheers from Charlotte, NC
You sir are a lifesaver. My passenger door speaker just blew out so I was dreading having to replace the speaker. Now I have a nice little tutorial (with speakers sitting the correct way) to follow. Thanks a bunch, hopefully I can get the speakers by next week so I can do this project.

Excellent video, I will be upgrading the speakers in my 2011 E90 335i.
With my good headset on, I could definitely hear a difference. A lot more punch and accuracy coming from those new speakers and subs, and the highs sound a lot cleaner, less tinny if that makes sense. Thanks for the video! Looking forward to upgrading my stock system, as I have the same second level setup from BMW and its super dated :-D

I listened to and watched this in my 330i with premium package Harmon Kardon system and I feel like I got pretty accurate feel for the difference. Subs seemed more distinct and punchier and the mids were more crisp and clear. Couldn't tell a lot of difference in the tweeters. Great vid. Don't think I'll ever replace my Harmon Kardon though. 😁
Great video man! It woofer sounds very similar, but the low and highs are definitely better.
One the the things I really love about my 650 is the Harmon Kardon sound system, wouldn't ever think of replacing those speakers.

i was in two minds ordering alpha one for my 2019 X3 after watching ur video ordered it..ll update how it went.
This is a big upgrade over the other factory e90 systems like mine (the professional) but not necessarily a big improvement over this Logic 7 system which already sounds great.

Great job! Shout out to your pops......Imho, the OEM mids have better sound quality/clarity v new upgraded speakers. I have a 540i with HK Logic7 and a750i w/ B&O and the HK is 10x better that the high priced B&O.The bass in my 750i sucks
I listened to the comparison on my Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 headphones and the stock speakers sound more pleasant! :P

i think the Logic 7 set is kinda ok with what it does. i have to have the bass at -7 to play ok.. otherwise its overpowering everything else… maybe my equalizer settings are off.
Hey Justin, my E90 has a standard audio set up without the tweeters and center dash speaker. Its possible to install tweeters by either drilling holes into the existing door trim or getting a new trim with the the holes but do you know if its possible to add a center dash speaker to an E90 with a standard audio set up like mine?

Great vid, and loved that your dad was cool enough to help you out. But two things I really don't get. First, the original speakers sounded excellent, so why change them? The only real difference I noticed was with the door midrange, which was richer. The rest sounded the same with that same amp. Next, why ONLY the front speakers? What about the ones in the rear???????

Just upgraded the speakers in my e90, all working except front door speakers both sides? Tried the old speakers back on doors, no sound from them now either?
I have a question. Just installed in my e82 135i and i noticed that the center part of the speaker pushes out my speaker cover if I tighten it down at all. I can beaely thread the nuts on without pushing out the cover. Any help?
