Blue Team magnet for sure. Multiple 2000k+ base XP games on the losing side in this ship. It's a hitter though.

Thanks for the review. I was considering buying this, but Wargaming has tricked me into buying a few mediocre premium DDs recently! Don’t get me wrong, every premium shouldn’t be OP like Kamikaze or Yudachi, but they should be at least as good as the tech tree ships. There have been several “meh” tier 6 premium DDs, and the Italian DD should be sunk to create an artificial reef, but the fish probably wouldn’t like it either....what is going on with all of torpedoes with speeds in the 40 to 50kt range recently? Still love the Price is Right loser music for the wide spreads! Keep up the good work!

Concur. The main problems with this ship are it's Maas all over again and it's $40. The German 128s simply lack oomph at T6. The HE pens well, but damage is low. The AP is formidable, but cruisers at this tier frequently have significant armor and T6 hit points--and at T7 they have heals. It's not like lighting up a K-berg or Furutaka.
Yeah big difference in HE performance compared to say Benson, but It has some significant differences from the Maas - namely the sonar quality. Also slightly better HP, guns, and concealment. Feels like a strong t6 division hybrid DD but probably not a great solo ship
I don't get why you @tbull don't try aboyneu (french destroyer commander) as inspiration on your gunboat destroyers, since you'll mainly do damage with HE 🤔
This version of the Z35 is totally different than the PC because on PC its a pure gunboat with 12km guns 6km torps and British smoke but in here i could easily say its the best destroyer of the 3 of the German navy in tier 6 with 50% more range on the torps with standard gun range but the only downside is no engine boost. My Bey is 16.3 with Sims and Jerzy both of them at 16.3 with that same perks as yours.
Id probably agree that out of the 3 T6 Germans this one does the best. Not a bad ship, just doesnt send a tingle up my leg
Thanks Il, gg. I'm a 100% twist and track guy on all lines buy I'd like to try a full torp build on z23 to take advantage of the reload to see what happens.
It happens that you Need to keep the 128 mll guns on the z-23 instead of 150mll or you Will have a Really bad gun reload
@@micha-elhorus5799 i found 128s are very lackluster compared to 150s in 1 on 1 dd fights even with slower reload

@@micha-elhorus5799 agreed there. Either way i think the strength of the z23 is concealment/radar as it's guns just don't quite hold up in a naked 1v1 fight vs a lightning or obviously a fletcher.

I expect that we'll get the Euro DDs relatively soon, in which case he will be available for free. I probably have him on 2 DD lines and maybe 1-2 cruiser lines, but if you want to really focus on concealment it could be a good investment.
@@TbullGaming Thank you. Ill hold off on him for now, getting the T-35 today and will use Sims and Burke since no AL commanders.

Wonderful solo effort. On the fence with this ship, since I still need the Kidd as well. I'm definitely a gunboat guy when in a DD. Always appreciate your perspective.
Kidd is an apex predator, one of my favorite ships
z35 or z39? been looking to get z39 a while just haven't as I like kidd, benson and akatsuki or do I even require another T6 dd yet?
It's a tough call between the two. I like the 150s more, but this has better firing angles. I just found it difficult to fully capitalize on the sonar advantage in this one with the pea shooters trying to take down the red DD
I like the 39. Those 150s are magnificent for wrecking broadside cruisers that rush you. By the time they realise, it's to late.
I would recommend the Z-35, I have it for two days and I am very satisfied! The Z-39 has a slower reload and turns badly at sea. The only advantage is with the turbobeast on the engine ... with the Z35 they shoot and control the cannons very well, I do not regret the purchase at all, I can only recommend! Also T-61 its very good a my favourite :) and to the Kidd...i think, that has very bad torpedo range and he has only 5 torpedos :(

Great review sir...thank you for saving me some $$$$...I am still fairly new to the game (under 700 battles) and have fallen in love with destoryers, especially the german ones. For me personally they are the best balance of stealth, guns and torps. After watching this review and like others being torn between the Z35 vs Z39, I went instead with the T-61 :) I understand its only a tier 5 but man is it man...I will be going back and watching your other Destroyer videos..especially the American ones..now to determine...Kidd or Sims
In a carrier match, I think I shot down 12 planes. I'd say the AA is pretty strong.
Het T or anyone, if I have the Z- 39 do I even need to spend the cheddar on this DD ? what's the difference if any? Thanks in advance.
The differences are pretty minor. Unless you really like the maas more than the gaede/z23 you're probably good with the z39

How in the world were you getting so many over pens on the Boise?
The boise is practically the inbetween of a helena and a atlanta it's very thinly armored in alot of places and with 130mms with ap pen you'll end up just punching through alot of it

Would you do mordoff over Burke?
That's another option. The question becomes does burke direct more shells where you want them to go at a slower rate of fire, or does putting out 5% more fire land more shells. Tough to say but both probably get roughly the same results

Slightly better guns, slightly worse mobility with better hydro

Yeah i just killed one that popped out while i was pinging with sonar on yorck. You can tell it's all money no skill when they pop the smoke while being pinged
