Got Öland yesterday. As a Swede (and my father living on Öland btw), I couldn’t help myself. I knew I was buying it on release day.
The day before, Sunday, I got Skåne from one of the free destroyer crates we get daily. Again, as a Swede (and living in Skåne btw), I was very happy about that! The odds state it’s a 1 in 5000 chance to get Skåne from the ordinary (not big) destroyer crates.
Öland seems fun! I haven’t tried her yet though. I’m forcing myself to grind Skåne until fully upgraded first. Struggling a bit with that. Had some decent games, but the carry potential in Skåne is weak. At least in my hands and before upgrades. Just upgraded the torps though, so it’s gotten better.

Swedish provinces. (Or “landskap”, really, which there is no direct translation for. Province is close enough.)
Skåne is the southern most province of Sweden. Öland is Swedens second largest island. ( “Ö” means island in Swedish. Then “-land” as in country/province/land.)
Visby and Västerås are Swedish towns. Östergötland and Halland are provinces (like Öland and Västerås).
There was the “city destroyers” and then the landskap (province) destroyers.
(City destroyers looks funny when writing in English. In Swedish, destroyers are called “jagare” (hunter/jäger).🙂)

I bought her myself and agree with your sentiments...on paper she is eerily similar to the Z35 from a stats point of view (concealment/etc.); I am running Swarzky (Bay/Teslau) and its down to 5.4 concealment. The caution part is very true....I have been letting other DD's jump into the cap at the start before engaging...overall a very fun ship. Good review sir.

Nice review of Oland. Haven't had the time to play it much but I'm enjoying the ship. My Stig commander is very low level so I'm running Swirski rn as he is maxed. Using Bey and the French guy as inspirations for 5km detection and 15secs after firing. It's a fun ship, GG...enjoyed watching!

Just got her and I’m having a lot of fun. I’ve gotten up to 15 torp hits in a game because people aren’t expecting them at all lol
Lol yeah shes fun! And the torp damage is just enough to be dangerous. Skane had super low yields. Like 7k I think?
my conqueror bureau will be ready by Friday!! can't wait to barbeque the crap out of the enemy! also i'm having insane rng this week, i 've only had 2 battles, but they've been bloody good ones! i had one battle yesterday in my shima , 250k dmg!! (my first 200k + on the shima) and today i took the yamato out for a spin, 1st shot, 44k, 2nd shot and i was up to 75k, then 100k, then 103, then 125k. at that point there were no enemies left on my side so a few 19km shots later and boom 230k! 2.9k xp on the yammy and over 3k on the shima! i hope i can keep up this good form on my conqueror!

I've been 3 years with the game. Thats exactly what I want too: something to keep me smiling. But I have already Le Terrible, so isn't her more of the same?
I mean maybe...the AA on Oland is nice, plus super fast fire rate on torps and guns. But Le Terribles speed is nice and torps hit super hard. They have similar roles and play styles, I see where you're coming from
Pro tip for DFAA turn your aa off then back on to cycle your cooldown faster to your next charge

Imo its way too much better than Skane, its like a JB or a Yudachi on steroids (against their TT counterparts)
On a side note i'm almost at Riga and the heavy Soviet line is way too fun, Gorky especially was a gem, and funnier than Tallinn tier for tier, i really hope the tier 7 is gonna be like the tier 5, maybe a video on Riga as its not a well known and played ship, whereas Tallinn is all the contrary ?

I've been playing Riga here looking to make a vid. Shes a tough boat to play, so really trying to figure her out before posting. Tallinn was like playing with the big lego blocks. Easy mode lol
And I havent pulled Skane yet...but that's what I hear, just way better than the tech counterpart...

Öland does seem like a great ship. Not enought to overthrow Kidd or Z-35 as the best T6 DD gunboat, depending on preference, or even Nukekazi as the torpboat but she is very close on their tails.
As gunboats go, i think increasing the DPM with Swirskis "Mortar" would be a better pick, just don't need to use observant rage, just make sure to get some Sims and Trubetskoys inspirations to get more HP, also boosting the heals and resist some damage.
I do agree that it is with the Stig that you will probaly see the most stat improvment, and in that sense if you want to go for a torpboat, i would say to use "less is more" and get some Raizo Tanaka and Deng Shichang inspirations to boost that damage on the torps. Loosing a bit of range won't be much of a problem and you still have 10Km torp range that allows you to not really need more concealment.
Conrad will only be usefull if you are going for a full blown AA build, using King and AL Yuki as inspirations or making a "Rather be torching" kind of build with Rumble and Burke inspirations.
Super fun to play! I havent played Skane yet, but I heard this is waaaaay better. Bad RNG luck with my crates
@@DerkaGames don't worry, you are not the only one. I think the last time i got the tier 6 in an EA crate was the N. Carolina iirc. Those were what came before the alt DD russian line right?
