Hey Rebekah!!!😁Just a tip I just found out about. I live in Florida, so the sun really beats down here and kills the flowers. My daughter just bought a sunscreen to put on her porch from Temu. Reasonably priced. Normally her plants die or struggle, but by draping the full length screen on the edge of her porch the plants have taken off and love the semi shade. The flowers look so pretty against the black back drop. The sunscreens come in 6 sizes, but they're a life saver for plants. I bought one and it cost me $16, but it all depends on size. They're good quality and held up in a severe thunderstorm so I'm sold. Just a helpful hint if your plants start to suffer in the heat. Send my love to Holstein ❤

I also love what you mentioned about notice small things and finding peace in being in nature…I am finding so much happiness in slowing down and being observant during little moments in my day. I'm waiting for 1/2 price at our local Amish nursery here in WI. But we spent $170 already at the same nursery. I also did 8 big containers for the 1st time last yr.. They turned out great , so much fun picking out different flowers & greenery. I also have good luck w/petunias. We live on 80 acres and my showpiece is my claw foot bathtub painted like a cow, and we have a cute big wooden cow head attached to the front. I plant about 30 petunias ,plants & greenery and they fall over the edges, almost to the ground. It's stunning! Everyone comments on it.

Zinnias are good flowers to plant from seeds.. plant them as soon as the soil is warm enough to put seeds in the ground and within six weeks you'll have zinnias popping up everywhere. My mother and grandmother always grew zinnias

I love petunias too. I get those every year. I love Dahlia although I couldn’t find any so far this year. Zinnias I love them. I bought a pack of 12 and I have to say like you I don’t normally use orange but there happened to be one orange in the package and the rest were pink and yellow, well I do have two plants that didn’t have any blooms on them so maybe they’ll be orange as well not sure but it looks very pretty. Normally in my backyard I do pinks purples and lavender but the last couple years I’ve introduced white and yellow as well. In my front because of our memorial day, Fourth of July and Labor Day I do red white and blue flowers and then put my patriotic decor out there. But yes, I do get petunias, geraniums, and darn I can’t think of them, something like manville, can’t remember the correct name. And then the little blue flowers again I can’t think of the name I’ll have to go look. I’m working on planting all those in the front I spent the last two days planting in my backyard.
The white planters are beautiful, White has always been my favorite color, inside and out. I do not use orange in my gardens except at Halloween.
Zinnias do well here in southern Il. We have a lot of humidity all summer. My color plants are white, deep purple, rose pink, and yellows. Thanks for

Hi Rebekah, I so enjoy when you visit your local nurseries. Such a gorgeous basket of petunias. I am super inspired to go to the nursery today because I am late I getting our herb garden out. Obviously there are no deer in your area, those hostas would be gone in day at our house. your edging looks amazing! I had a rose of Sharon before, they get very large. It will definitely grow and hide your utility boxes, It looks stunning! Enjoy sitting on your porch❤

Love the front porch and how you decorated it. My husband and I also used black mulch and added new lights to the front of our house. We live in Florida. I definitely do not have a green thumb my husband has one. God bless!

In Louisiana they are wonderful!! I plant Zinnias every year, you will love them. Heat tolerant,so they work really well here! I do love the way your front porch looks, great job
Little Holstein looks so sweet checking out the neighborhood🥰 I love your flower choices, so pretty, I also use black mulch, I think it makes the color of the flowers just pop! Yes, I use Miracle Grow, but, I mix it with another potting soil I get from a local nursery.
My favorite drink is Pepsi, or sweet tea, yum. Have a great week, can't wait to see how you decorate your porch!

Everything turned out so pretty! We did the same thing in our yard Saturday and my legs are so sore lol but we are a lot older than you guys. It is still rewarding to sit and look at all the beautiful flowers! Hugs to sweet Holstein 😘🐶

Ooo, l love the color scheme you used this year. It is so peaceful and elegant looking. Yes, l have used Miracle Grow potting soil, but this year l went with G & B (Garden and Bloom). The Miracle Grow seems to be different than it used to be--more sticks and pieces of bark. The first glimpse of Holstein was a shocker for me--it almost looked like he was IN the pot!! Your garden is gorgeous--well done, Rebekah!!

My husband and I made raised garden beds this year and have tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeños, strawberries, and squash! I can’t wait to get our first homegrown harvest. 🍓🌱🍅🌶️🫑
We have a long weekend coming up (Memorial Day) and my husband and I are going to the beach to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary 🥰❤️
Hi Rebekah and Holstein. Beautiful job on the containers and the flowers you chose are so pretty. My colours are pinks and purples this year. Zinnias are very easy to grow and I just broadcast seeds over the soil and away they go. The more you cut the flowers the more they grow. I love the bright colours. God bless.
Your pots look lovely 😀what I do I put wood chips in between the flowers it looks great but the best part we don't need to water it everyday, sometimes it hold up to 4 days without watering if you want to try 😀❤
You could have divided the hosta plant to put somewhere else in your garden.The flower pots looks so pretty .
I plant zinnias seeds in my yard every year. We have hot summer's here and they love the sun

Rise of Sharon do get quite high and are usually very hardy. I love hostas, they too are hardy. My mom once forgot to plant one she divided and after winter she started to work on the yard and the hosta was growing so big. Everything looks very pretty and Holstine is so adorable. Hope I spelled his name right🤔
I love gardening also, I've been using the miracle grow dirt and it seems to be doing great and I also use the water one . I don't wear gloves either. Usually flip flops or no shoes. Too. Lol. I'm going with pinks, purples all colors for some color. I did a window box this year and it's so pretty. Your flowers and yard look beautiful 😍
Hi Rebekah - everything looks lovely..........zinnia's are great in full sun, and easy peasy to grow. I love them! They are bright and cheery in the garden!
They make nice cut flowers.
I also love gardening, and love to wander around in my bare feet..........
I have all new gardens and I usually like pinks and blues and purples............so that's in our front yard.
Having a new garden bed put in the back yard and 2 trees..........trying to focus on plants native to Ontario in the back.....and trying to attract pollinators and butterflies etc.
(Worms are VERY good for your soil, please put them back if you find them again.)

Hi sweet Rebekah, i loved Holstein watching over everything! Yes i don't wear gloves when I work in my flowering either. There is something about the dirt/soil. Barefoot is the only way to walk through the grass!😊 The flowers you chose are beautiful, I absolutely love the large pots on the porch...GORGEOUS!! They look like they were professionally done. This year I did cut back a little. I usedred geraniums (for my mama) and the white superbells. The back yard which is where we spend most of out time I planted yellow Lantana and double pink superbells. Working out in your yard is hard work but I feel like it's worth it.

I hope you had a wondeful long weekend Rebekah. 🌞 You are so right about the weather. It has been just fantastic.☀️ Isn't this time of the year so invigorating. The trees are finally in full bloom and the grass is getting greener by the day. All the outdoor markets are open....Oh How Fun!! 🤸♀️
The flowers are in abundance but the difficulty is choosing only enough for your space because there are so many options. 😆 I also picked up some flowers this weekend. It is funny because I don't have a green thumb for indoor plants but my outside ones usually do well. I still have a lot to learn. Your flower choices are so lovely. I absolutely love how you did your arrangements in your taller planters. Your little flower bed along side your path is so so nice. You made a great decision by moving the rose bush. It really did open up the space. It takes time to get everything done and in place. Before you know it, you will have put all your finishing touches on your front porch and it will be as Gorgeous as always. Have a most wonderful evening, maybe sit out and enjoy your porch area and by the way, your greek food looked yummy!!

Good evening Rebekah! Love your selection of white flowers! Moving the rose of Sharon shrub did open up the front of the porch and made your planter/porch more visible! It looks great on the side as it gives you something to look at there! My husband and I reworked a plant bed today transplanting a tree into it, transplanting day lilies to other places and then adding white vinca into the space. It was an all day job, too! Sweet Holstein was a great supervisor watching over his domain! 😊 Looking forward to your porch decorating! 💕

Your flowers are beautiful! Did you say you mix Miracle Gro potting soil in with water and the water? I live in a condo so flowering pots work best. I love petunias and all my flowers are shades of pink and white. Great job Rebekah.

Everything looked beautiful! Glad y’all are getting warmer weather. It is definitely been hot here averaging around 102°F. I have planted those Zinnia flowers a lot and love them because they attract so many butterflies. However, they multiply like rabbits so you have to keep them thinned out so they don’t get crammed up and touch each other too much or they can get a fungus that starts spreading all over the leaves. Hope you’re having a great weekend and give little Holstein a pet for me!
Try putting orange and purple million bells or c a l i b r a c o a. Dianthus Works real well in the sun I have hanging baskets of the pink dianthus and it works well
