Heads up for replacing that section: Brace the metal around where you're going to cut out so it doesn't move. It'll make your life a lot easier when you're remaking the metal and welding it in.

It’s not just dust it’s glass dust horrible a mask will only cost u like $100. Probably worse for u than no mask painting 2k paint even 1k. And the fact he left the garage door open is crazy
I've worked with that stuff a few times, it gets everywhere. Without a mask you'll be coughing up dust for the next few days. Hope his neighbours weren't too bothered by it, those cars will have gotten some too. @@fiys567
For the seam sealer if your wanting to keep the theme with the blasting, the CryoBlaster (Dry ice) setups seem to do great at freezing, breaking and clearing it out.

Hey Dan! Just a tip here, I'm an automotive glass tech by trade. If you alter anything around the windshield, make sure to test fit the glass before to ensure proper alignment. Can't tell you how many resto jobs I've been to that had to be altered to ensure proper seal and chrome contact.

The A pillers are actually multiple layers thick built with different degrees of strength metals. Cut into it slow your issue may only be the outer cosmetic layer which is lass scary to do when considering rollover safety.

For the seamsealer, just use a wirewheel on a grinder, shit will fly off in seconds!
Sandblasting is a fun job, I use that same setup in my line of work actually. Great to see the car isn't as bad!

You should spray it with steel it. It's a weldable spray paint that looks like bare steel
Just a heads up on the T-Top idea they will leak if your caught out in the rain you can't stop it put brand new seals in my dads 77 trans am they still leak but they are nice on a warm day but if you keep it a coupe run a vintage air my dad says classic air is in his opinion better and simpler to install.
