    I can not tell you how happy it makes me seeing you tackle the Camaro! I fuckin love the 2nd gens so from the day you got it, I was excited to see the content with this car. Still makes me mad that you're having to go to these lengths to get it in tip top shape, but I'm loving the videos on it none the less. I can't wait to see this beast back on the road but I know it's gonna be a long process. Just keep chipin away and it'll be done in no time.

    They do Infact make a special bit for drilling out spot welds. However, they are pretty pricy from what I remember. I could be wrong, been a while since I did body work. Handheld belt sander was always my go to. Awesome tool👌🏼

    Danny Boi,
    I'm going to say with nothing but love. Clean your work space after every shift. 10-15 minutes.
    Make it part of the task. You want quality work, have a quality work space.
    If you have a hard time cleaning, engineer ways to make it easy for you. Build some shelves For the wood storage and metal storage. Stop leaning stuff on the walls. Make a space for it.
    Trash cans, Make a space for them. All the cords, Make a space.
    Pay an organizer. They're like $300 for a day.
    Nothing but love. Cool vid

    For popping spot welds drill em like you have done, try to keep the hole through the panel you are replacing then lay that old panel on top of your new and mark the holes. Use a 6 and 1 style painters knife to really get at separating. Another tip, take a piece of copper, I use a piece of flattened plumbing pipe, to use as a backing blown through spot welds whennyou mig everything back together. The copper heat sinks excess heat from the sheet metal, less warp, and it won't stick to the filler metal from the mig.

    Its beautiful seeing you doing this kinda work yo , I do this pretty often as an apprentice at a body shop ,moreso radiator supports and patch panels but similar principles, air hammer with a chisel bit , finger belt sander or seam drill bits and a seam buster are definitely good tools to tackle that kind of work , glad to see your projects getting further along 🤟

    Get a spot-weld drillbit or belt-sander. Chisel + hammer to separate, dress the metal + weld-thru primer before welding, both sides. Good luck in the build.

  • @RestoHubAU
    @RestoHubAU Před 4 měsíci

    Great video Dan.
    If you've got more spot welds to drill in future, try a spot weld cutter. I used one in a video I just released the other day if you wanted to get an idea of what they do. They do a good job of preserving the panel below.
    Also, a long/flat sharp paint scraper works well to split the panels. The screw driver and pry bars bend steel which you probably noticed.
    Good job man. Keen to see more. 😎👌
