How to EASILY superglide EVERY TIME

- Supergliding is a powerful and fun movement tech with one problem, if you run the game at a high framerate it becomes practically impossible to do consistently. This is how to fix it.

I deleted it because I did not have the time to moderate it and people were spamming some heinous shit in the text channels. Everything you need is still in the video, the server was just convenient because you could download the files and ask for help if you needed it. It is what it is and it is gone now, I honestly should've done this sooner because I've been inactive in it for a long long time now.
Disclaimer about the discord channel: Admittedly I'm not very active on discord and at this point it's more of a place where hopefully you all can help each other out. To be completely honest I don't have the time to answer everyone's questions and again to be brutally honest I've been really lacking the motivation to maintain this channel and the discord because I just don't play apex anymore. I might upload other games at some point, though knowing me I probably won't.
I genuinely had no idea that this video would blow up like this, I had hoped to maybe get 100 views on this video and instead this has not gotten almost 90k. I had no idea that this would happen, and I know it's really cliche but even if I don't ever upload anymore content I do just wanted to say thanks for that.
If you aren't comfortable downloading the superglide.cfg files these are the commands, just make a notepad file, paste these in, and then rename it and change the file type as you need to:
Superglide1 Commands:
bind "SPACE" "+jump; exec superglide2.cfg"
bind "MWHEELDOWN" "+jump"
Superglide2 Commands:
bind "MWHEELDOWN" "+jump; fps_max 30; exec superglide3.cfg"
Superglide3 Commands:
bind "MWHEELDOWN" "+duck; fps_max 165; exec superglide1.cfg"
Here is the fix to a common problem with setting this up:
The .cfg on the end is meant to be the file extension, it isn't part of the name, but depending on your file explorer settings it might be hidden and the .cfg you see could just be part of the name rather than it being the file type. To test for this, try and take away the .cfg on the end of the file name, if it gives a warning it's functioning correctly and you should leave the .cfg right where it was, otherwise you should take it away.
To my understanding, windows sees all of the file extensions regardless, so when you have them hidden and name a config file something.cfg, the program reading the file sees it named as something.cfg.cfg which obviously is a problem if you're trying to read a file that you say is called something.cfg. To account for this, just do what I said above, where you try to take away the .cfg on the end of the file names and see if it gives you a warning or not. If it gives you a warning it's all good, otherwise its not quite right and you should take the .cfg you can see away. Or of course you could just turn "show file extensions" on in windows explorer and then only change the file names if they're named something.cfg.cfg. - Hry
So, I finally got this to work. A couple tips for people. If you're practicing this in the firing range, pay close attention to the dark line on the ledge that he is trying to perform the glide on. That provides a helpful marker to measure when you should use your scroll wheel. Also, I've found that the glide is easier to perform when you've pressed spacebar from 6-12 inches away, instead of pressing your legend directly up against the ledge and then trying to mantle it.
In the beginning, I thought it wasn't working because I didn't notice a drop in FPS - !!!YOU WON'T NOTICE OR SEE A DROP IN FPS. IT HAPPENS TOO QUICKLY TO REGISTER!!!!
What I am wondering is - if lowering the FPS to 30 help with this movement, is 30 fps the lowest we should go? I wonder if using 10 FPS instead of 30 would make it even easier to perform?
You can go lower if you want. It'll make the timing window easier but you will start to notice the stutter. Also what can happen when you're playing is if you push spacebar and then accidentally do just one scroll input your fps will get stuck at 30 until you scroll again. Since you can fix it just by scrolling a second time it's not a major issue but it can be bad if it happens at the wrong time especially if you make the dropped fps so low that you can't really aim or shoot at that fps.
The timing is frame perfect, so to see how long the window is take 1000ms and divide by your framerate.
360fps = 2.7ms
240fps = 4ms
144fps = 7ms
100fps = 10ms
60fps = 16ms
30fps = 33ms
10fps = 100ms
I've seen people be able to reasonably consistently superglide at ~144 fps, at 60fps it's not too difficult if you get the timing down really well and for me 30fps meant I could do it pretty much every time after a while of using it, though I'd be out of practice now because I don't really play apex anymore.

Quick question, after hitting spacebar and then using MWHEELUP (I switched the keybind from DOWN), my fps doesn't drop to 30 fps. What would be the reason for this?
That probably means apex just isn't reading the files for one reason or another and that its not working. Could be a typo in the launch options, could be a typo in one of the files or it could be the file extension problem I mentioned in the description. Generally it's the last one. The config files need to be "cfg" files, not just normal "txt" files, and putting ".cfg" after all of the file names in the files themselves and in the launch options is important.

Wait. Dont you need a different keybind for jump? If space is my normal jump key and I would bind space in the cfg. Doesnt that mean everytime I press space to just jump, it put my fps on 30 untill the scroll wheels are used?

Lmao, that wasn't actually intentional. When I made this video I was also setting up the discord and I didn't realise I had that copied rather than the file name I wanted there. I just didn't feel like doing another take so I just kept going lol

copy all 3, change everywhere it says MWHEELDOWN to MWHEELUP (youll have to do this in each file) and in the last file change 165 to 144

Do we have to assign jump to scroll down in apex settings ? Or just leave it to defaults ?
The configs do assign jump to scroll anyway, so it should work either way. I've only ever used it with scroll down bound to jump in apexs settings though so it's not like I've tested it or anything.
Is there anyway to stop it from changing my mouse wheel bind in game after every super glide attempt? I swapped mouse wheel down for up as I use MWHEEL down to swap weapons but every time I do it MWHEEL down is rebound to jump :/
Mwheel to swap weapons is a waste of a mouse bind, just use number keys to swap weapons way better. Won’t take long to get used to.
hes right you know.. i picked up MnK about 5 months ago and have been using scroll down for weapon cycle and i just switched to a key bind it sucks but you gotta get use to it

I know I'm replying 2 months late so you probably have this fixed by now, but in the files you can just replace mwheeldown with mwheelup and everything should work exactly the same just with mouse wheel up instead. Or you could just put bind mwheel down to swap weapons in the 3rd file, but I'm not sure what the command is for that

Super accurate explanation but with this method you dont have to press slide button? Like you drop you fps and just jump on the wall and get it?
To do it, you just need to sprint into a wall, press space to start climbing, and then scroll at the end of the climb. So yeah, you're right, you don't need to slide, because the scrollwheel is set up to lower your fps for an instant, and it's also setup to spam crouch and jump inputs as well. Hope that makes sense.

@@Bllksem Just to help me understand this, when I press jump (whatever it was blinded to in superglide1 right?) it activates the superglide1.cfg file and allows me to then scroll wheel to perform the super glide (scroll wheel also blinded within super glide files?) and that scroll wheel also disables the superglide1.cfg so my fps returns and my binds are the same as before? Is this correct or did I miss a step? I’m new to auto exec and config files so I’m not 100% sure how they work, thanks for reading this and sorry for the long comment. I hope you can help me understand :)
@@georgitzu3150 That seems more or less correct. The jump button as bound in superglide 1 both sends a jump input and tells apex to run superglide 2. superglide 2 then binds jump to the mouse wheel, it also binds the mouse wheel to lock your fps at 30 and it binds the mousewheel to run superglide 3. Superglide 3 then binds mousewheel to crouch, it makes mousewheel reset your fps cap and runs superglide 1 to reset the loop so you can do it again.

Someone please help me I can't seem to have a bind for both scroll up for jump and move forward. If i change it in the file settings it just resets, if i make an auto exec for it it doesnt even work and even when using a 3rd party software to simulate scrolling up as pressing space bar (jumping) then putting walking as scroll up too but in game so they both work at the same time it would just reset my scroll up in game to jump or the 3rd party software just stops working after i use my super glide bind. I'm really confused and hope someone can help

no, you should be able to do both. If you use scrollwheel up for tapstrafe and scroll down for jump, use the cfgs exactly as they are, if you use scroll down for tapstrafe and scroll up for jump change the cfgs to say "mwheelup" where they say "mwheeldown" and then use scroll up for super gliding rather than scroll down.

@@woodie2863 Thats odd, either there is a typo somewhere in the files, or the game is using the configs in saved games which can happen too. I'm not sure exactly how it works, but apex saves a version of the configs in the saved games games folder in your user as well as in the cfg file where the game is actually saved. Just double check everything, if that doesn't help delete the files in C:\Users\your user\Saved Games\Respawn
This will reset your in game settings to defaults as well, so just be aware of that.

Well, bind "MWHEELDOWN" +jump is the line for jump for example, but I'm not sure about other actions, if you want to check that I'd go into the normal games config files and just look there for what all the actions are called where the game binds all your buttons normally.

So, I had it correctly, but i changed the jump keybind in game, and once i left firing range it didn't work anymore. I've tried unbinding it in game, binding another key through the auto-exec, and even deleted them all, verified steam files, and then remade all of the auto-execs and its still not working again. Can I get some help?
So you got it working properly, you changed a keybind bind in game, and then it all stopped working? And you've tried completely re-doing everything? I mean obviously apex isn't reading the files for some reason, but if you re-did everything already and tried again from scratch I don't see why it wouldn't work. The only thing I can think of is if you made a typo or some other mistake when you tried to redo all of the files. Unless you are trying to use that key you rebound in game to start the climb for the superglide. You have to use whatever you set in the first superglide file to start the climb when you superglide, and you can't change this bind in game it can only be changed manually in the superglide1 file. You probably already realised this though, but it's just something I thought might be causing it too.
@@Bllksem Yes it was a typo. For some reason, when I changed the bind, it fully deleted the auto execs. When I remade them it kept taking the _US_standard off of bind. But its okay I fixed it. I've been shitting on people ALL day with this 😂 I had both 120 FOV and this back in s9 but I've been without them all of s11. feels so much better now that I have both back.
I had this working on the origin launcher but now that origin is ea desktop i cant get it to work because it doesnt allow "+" lauch commands, i was wondering if there is a work around for this? or a way to do this?

so im trying to do this on controller im using antimicro to rebind buttons but when i hit the jump button then the button that bhops it gets stuck in crouch i dont under stand why that is
What do you mean the jump button and the button that bhops? I'm assuming you mean the button that you use to start the climb and the button you use at the end of the climb? And then you get stuck in crouch after you push that 2nd button? It's probably a stupid question on my part, but are you pushing the 2nd button multiple times? For this to work you need 2 very quick taps of that 2nd button, or you could just spam it if you want. If it's not that then I think I'm completely misunderstanding what you're asking.
Antimicro binds controller buttons to keyboard keys right? If I'm right in assuming that this is how I'd do it.
You need 1 button bound to space, you can use your normal jump button for this.
You also need 1 button bound to mouse wheel down inputs, though there's a solid chance that might not be an option. If it isn't an option you can change that to whatever keyboard key you want it to be, just remember that you will have to go back into the files and change all of the lines that say "mwheeldown" to whatever key you chose.
Then when you want to actually do a superglide in game you would start you climb like normal and then at the end of the climb you would double tap or spam that 2nd button as fast as you can. You probably get more of an fps stutter than someone using an actual mouse wheel though, so to fix that problem I'd set up a macro for the 2nd button that constantly spams inputs while it is held to mimic a scrollwheel spinning so that you don't physically have to spam the button yourself because a macro will do it way faster than anyone ever could.
I know I'm probably not answering your question directly, but I hope that helps.
If I turn delete this cfg, every time I turn the bottom scroller it gets locked to 30fps... How do I fix it?

i had it working but had my pc storage card changed so i lost everything but got it all back but i the cfg no longer change my fps to 30 and also never does that thing where it caps my fps at 30 if i scroll down and press space at the same time but i dont know why could you help me??
Have you looked at your launch options? If apex disappeared from steam the launch options probably have reset, so even if the files are there they won't be used.
Nevermind i looked in the comments and it was just all i had to do was turn off v sync

Just use any key and bind that key to your side mouse button via the gaming mouse option. Ie if you bound c key then you would use c key on side mouse button
Hello! I was hoping you could clear up some confusion for me since you actually respond :)
I use mouse wheel up to jump in game. Can I set both functions to mwheelup in the first file? Or would that goof something up? Ideally I'd like to run at the wall, scroll wheel up to initiate the climb as usual, and then scroll wheel up again to active the superglide at the top of my climb.
Well you could only do that if you made sure your scrollwheel only moved enough for 1 input to start the climb, otherwise if you just flicked your scrollwheel like most people do it'd continually cycle through the files. Plus then it'd fuck with normal bhopping because you'd be losing fps basically every jump. So I really wouldn't recommend it.

You still have to do it in origin, otherwise it wont work, just go to properties on apex and advanced launch options should be there somewhere, then just copy paste it in. Either +exec superglide1.cfg or +exec autoexec.cfg depending on how you set it up.
having issues with mine. fps wont drop and i already my default jump to scroll wheel. I'm not sure how to fix this at all. could it be because of me already having mwheeldown as my jump bind?
Nah, that shouldn't be the problem because that's how I had mine set up too. In almost all cases where the files aren't doing anything it's because of either a typo or the the files aren't named correctly, and usually it's the latter. The files aren't just normal notepad text .txt files, that .cfg on the end means the are CFG files, which is different even though you still open them with notepad. Now if in windows explorer you have the setting "show file extensions" set to on and then you change the .txt on the end of a notepad file to .cfg like I do in the video you actually change the file type too, but a lot of people don't have that on, so when they make a notepad file and name it "superglide1.cfg" it's not actually changeing the file type and that means apex won't read it. To check this, go to windows explorer, if you look at the top you'll see some settings tabs, go to view and then at the top of the screen there will be 3 check boxes, one of them will be "show file extensions" make sure that that is checked and then go look at your cfg folder. If your files now look somthing like "superglide1.cfg.txt" just take the .txt on the end away, then when you push enter it should give you a warning saying thay you are changing the file type, thats actually a good thing because you want to be changing the file type, then you'd have to do that for the other files you made. If it's not that its probably a typo somewhere.

As far as I know its safe. Manually changing and making config files has been a thing for a very long time and it has been a thing for apex since launch. People used to make config files to remove muzzle flash for example, and even though respawn didn't like this they didn't ban anyone for it, they just ended up removing your ability to do it anymore. So I really wouldn't worry too much about it
Mine just doesn't do anything and I checked the files many times.
This is great. But now I can't jump normally with scroll wheel down. So I can't use scroll wheel to do zipline superjumps or wall bounces. Any advice?

I don't know why this is not working for me. I went through the video step by step and set up everything CORRECTLY. I have checked over and over again for any typos, files not being .cfg etc. Its all fine however for some reason i go in game and it does not set my fps to 30. My v-sync is disabled also.

It sounds like the 3rd file isn't being used, because that's the one that resets your fps cap to go back to normal, start with double checking the text in the 2nd and 3rd files. In the 2nd file you just need to check that the exec superglide3.cfg line is correct and in the 3rd file just look for typos in the line where it resets your fps cap, I think I had it at 165, but it can be whatever you want it to be. But yeah that basically just means that the 3rd file isn't being used at all, or the text in that file isn't quite right.

hey man since i did this i experienced frame drops when i tap strafe then when i use Mouse Wheel Down it fixes my fps sometimes its 130 dropping to 30 then i MWHEELDOWN it goes back to normal. any fixes ？
Are you using the same mouse wheel direction to tapstrafe and superglide? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but that's what it sounds like. It should be opposites, up for tapstrafe down for jump in the configs, or the other way around. Regardless, the config files are set up so that the only way they do anything is if you mouse wheel after pushing space or whatever other button you have bound in the first file, so if it's space you could change it to another button so that it's something you don't normally push to jump, I did that because it made the muscle memory of supergliding carry over to using the configs better, but if you're constantly accidentally activating the configs you could try just using a different button. Just then remember that you have to push that button to start your climb rather than space if you want to superglide.

it drops to 30 fps permanently and if i dont scroll down my mouse wheel again it wont go back and its pretty annoying and causing me to lose my gun fights
@@hsi2879 It sounds like you're pushing space and then accidentally only doing 1 scroll input which locks your fps until you do another scroll input. Really either you can take the bind in the config files off of space to a button you never push for any reason other than wanting to superglide, so you can't accidentally initiate the files when jumping normally, or you just get used to always being careful to flick your scrollwheel whenever you use mousewheel down so that you can't accidentally lock your fps. I only put it on space because I found that to be more convenient, but there's no reason you can't use another button if that's a big problem for you. Just then you obviously push that button rather than space to start your climb into the superglide.

No it's not bannable, its just a macro like controller tapstrafe. People might not like it, and it's not allowed in tournaments, but you won't get banned for it.

I have the first bind on "C" instead of "SPACE" but it still doesn't jump when I press it therefore none of the other execs work I've seen a lot of other people with this issue but no one knows how to solve it.
c should be just like any other key like caps lock and space, it just needs to be bound to run the next file and it needs to be bound to jump and it should work. Maybe check your syntax on the lines where you try and bind it, and maybe see if capitalising it matters or not. Though like I said it should be just like any other key, so if it's done in exactly the same way it should work. If it's not making you jump, double check to make sure that you have the line binding it to jump done correctly.
The binds for that initiating button are only changed in the first file, and it's only 2 things that are changed, the button you chose is bound to jump, and it's bound to running that 2nd file. Those are to my understanding the only 2 things that can go wrong with binding that button. So if it normally works the way I had it set up it can only be one of those 2 things that are wrong. If you haven't gotten it to work before at all there is a solid chance that changing that one binding isnt your problem.
Idk I hope that explanation helps. Stuff like this is very finicky where one character being out of place can stop the entire thing from working so you have to be really meticulous with it, and it's not like a typical code editor where it'll point out syntax mistakes for you which makes it very difficult to troubleshoot.
If you don't know, syntax basically means coding grammar, so when I say check that I mean check it against what the text looks like when you know it works. Look for things like out of place semicolons or quotation marks, that sort of thing.
@@Bllksem Thank you for responding, I've just gone over It and I don't think see any syntax mistakes, I also just deleted everything in superglide1 2 and 3 and pasted it again just to be sure and still, nothing. My friends have had this issue before when we made tap-strafe keybinds and they wouldn't work in game for them, but worked for me just fine. Not sure either what seems to be the culprit.
Do you have c bound in game maybe? This is a really long shot, but I remember some people having problems with conflicts between the games normal config files and the files that we make here. Maybe try binding it to jump in game and then only binding it to start the next file in the superglide 1 file? I really don't know, this is pretty much the point at which I recommend trying random shit until something finally works. If c is the only key that isn't working it means that there obviously must be somthing different with how that specific key is handled by the game. Maybe try using it when it's bound or not bound in game, or try separteing the commands in the file into 2 separate lines, or even try binding c to jump in game and then only have the line to bind c to start the next file? Idk those are just examples of stuff i'd do. If it's only c thats broken you might just want to use another key in that area of your keyboard like x or v, I know its kind of a lazy fix because it doesn't actually solve the problem but I don't know what else to say do to be honest. My coding experience ends at very basic c++ that I did in a high school coding class, so I know some very general stuff, but when it comes to somthing very specific like this in the source engine I really don't know how exactly it could to wrong like this.

Should work on ea play and origin, you'll just have to find the advanced launch options in ea play which I think is also under properties but i forget

i strafe with mouse wheel down, and it rebinds my mwheeldown to do the superglide, i cant do mwheelup bc of the way my pc is setup
You need to use one of your mousewheel directions, if neither can be used you're pretty much shit out of luck. What you can try is using a different button entirely to mousewheel and then you use a macro so that when you hold it it gets spammed, but at least when I tried to do this for a friend on controller I couldn't find a macro that spammed fast enough and didn't have some other weird bugs.

Guys just fyi you only hit space twice before you hit a superglide you don’t scroll down then jump on the wall then scroll again
