    Have the V60 and paid well under $700 for the phone and screen case in brand new unopened condition. For that price the V60 has more to offer so no need to compromise.

    The reason things are set up differently on the Velvet is because it's the first phone with LG's new UI: Velvet UI. So that explains all the differences you're seeing. 😊

    Hey J! Great video. To duplicate apps on the second screen on the V60:
    1) press the app drawer icon on the second screen. Your app list will open
    2) swipe to the app Page that has the app you wish to launch from the second screen home page
    3) press and hold the app. Left swipe the app over to the second screen home and place it on the grid. And voila.
    I have 9 apps that I can launch from the second screen if I do choose.

    • @Spykedjadedragon
      @Spykedjadedragon Před 4 lety +2

      Yeah that’s useful but not actually the same as a two app shortcut. The way you’re describing eliminates the app swiping part..but you still need to open the other app on the main screen.

    • @tooblackinto
      @tooblackinto Před 4 lety +5

      @@Spykedjadedragon actually you don't. The apps on screen to can be launched independently from what's on screen 1 and can run side by side. In the settings there is an turn on app drawer slide button which has to be turned on for it to work correctly. You can clear all apps from either screen as well.

    The one small difference you didn't point out that is important to me on the V60 that isn't on the Velvet is AX(WiFi6) support. As 5G support expands and hotspot capability becomes more widely available over time this will become more and more important. This is probably something that is more important to me than most, but worth pointing out.

    Great info. I am liking the V60 so far, the Velvet came out shortly after I purchased my V60. AT&T is essentially selling both phones for the same price (Velvet $599, V60 $899 with $300 upgrade rebate). If you do a new line of service with AT&T you can get either the Velvet or V60 for the same price ($10 per month for 30 months). Happy with the V60 thus far, but both phones look like good choices.

Mainly because Samsung's prices are getting WAY out of my price range and these two phones have the ability to use the Wacom stylus, which now gives us spen users an option. Hey J keep up the great work brother! Just wanted to give you aheads up with my experience with the v60 dual screen and to give you a warning! Yesterday I dropped my v60 with the dual-screen case from a distance about 3 ft off of my lap and onto my linoleum floor the screen was open the front glass on the v60 spider webbed and shattered like a bomb went off I went and checked the reviews and all the details from T-Mobile and LGdoesn't cover the dual screen whatsoever! And the only way to trade it in is to do a full repair on the whole phone. And LG wants me to send in the case for a diagnostic and pay $20 for that for them to prove that it is necessary for them to fix it free of charge if not LG wants to charge me $250 for a new dual screen... Be super careful man.

      Ouch. I'm really sorry my friend. Some people on local selling sites are selling the dual screen for as low as $80. I can share the offer up link for you. I just picked up a dual screen one myself. $525 new sealed & paid off from T-Mobile.
      I read on some of the screen protector reviews that the screen protectors actually work and fit on the dual screen. Someone on the Droids4life Facebook group also said that there is a spray on application that you can use too for protection. I wonder if any of these things would help to better protect the dual screen?

    you're not completely wrong on the concept that to the average consumer the difference in the sound quality may be fairly minimal. The thing is the quad-DAC is really going to pique the 'audiophile' market specifically.

    To get to the hue, contrast and sharpness on the lgv60 you have to go into the expert mode. It's similar to the custom mode on the Velvet just different wording.

    The Velvet is my favorite phone, but the 765G cpu is weak in gaming. I have a G8x (same specs as the V60 just smaller and slightly less ram) and it runs games flawless while my Velvet has to have the settings on the game set to low. Velvet feels premium and nice though.

    I like the Velvet case better than the V60 but as someone who travels with quality headphones such as the Focal Elear, Audeze LCD2c and Fiio FH7 IEMs I don't want to let go of the Dac.

    @J.Williams random question or maybe it is not. I just got forced out of my lg g8x by tmobile👎. Now getting velvet, no so sad about that, but I cant find dual screens for velvet anymore. Did you still have your? Are you willing to sell/charitably give?😅 btw great comparison.

    QQ so does the dual screen on the velvet when you open a video does the sound reproduce on the same screen or does it come out from the phone screen?
    Also does the hinge goes 360 or what's its limit?
    Thanks in advance.

    A lot of people who trash a company for their android skin probly have only experienced their $50-$100 prepaid phones. Software optimation is always better on the $400-$1000 offerings from any company. Don't listen to the hatters, do what u do, we love u for it. 👍

    I really hope that J or Juan does a comparison review of the ZTE Axon 10 Pro VS the LG Velvet & V60. In J's one video he basically said that the ZTE was a better phone than the Sammy S20+ So it would be cool to see what how he thinks the ZTE compares and stacks up to LG Velvet and V60.
    I've read some comments on the ZTE on Slickdeals and they were nothing but positive great stuff. Plus B&H Photo just had them on sale, $300 for 128 GB 8 GB Ram & $330 256 GB 12 GB Ram.

    Good luck getting the dual screen with T-Mobile, they don't offer it.
    They have the Velvet for $600 ($588) and then if you want the dual screen, that works with the T-Mobile phone, you have to pick up it from LG for 200 bucks.
    On top of that at the two T-Mobile stores I stopped in at here in Orange County, CA, one with 5 employees in on the conversation, they didn't know that the Velvet had a dual screen option.

    You can use a headphone extension cord and it will kick in the quad sac. But you do have to download tube LG app that tells you if you're in 50 mm headphones zone.

    I don't get it?? I have the V60 and my home screen on the dual screen is identical to my regular home screen and it works just the same. So to open anything on dual screen I just open it on the dual screen. Some apps even allow me to open 2 instances of the same app or use one app across both screens.

    Hey J. Should I wait for V70 to come next year to upgrade from my V30+? Do you think it will have a 90hz display and QHD screen with superfast charging and a punch hole camera like the One plus 8? I'm ready to wait till Dec of 2020 or even Jan 2021. What do you think?

      i think the main point of LG is not having a 90hz phone... Specially having a dual screen with it... can you imagine how expensive could this be ?! all that time we were laughig at Samsung's , iphone;s, One plus's and even Xiaomi's prices...
      But! i trully believe LG can manage an under display front camera...

    • @Mumbai-Toronto-NY
      @Mumbai-Toronto-NY Před 4 lety

      @@pheba100 I agree to what you say, but those One plus and Samsung features look so tempting and also very practical. I love what LG is doing now but it feels like an incomplete phone for me to even put $800 to it. I'm an audiophile so I got no choice but to choose LG, also their screens are amazing and their hardware too. But a smoother and faster phone would truly make a difference. If there comes a news about a new Lg phone then I'll wait till Jan 2021 or else I'll pick a V60 or a One plus 8 pro.

    • @Mumbai-Toronto-NY
      @Mumbai-Toronto-NY Před 4 lety

      @@mikedw6748 I'm an all day LG fan, but my V30+ does show stutters and lags even when the phone's storage is more and the phone is well updated. So if you compare One plus phones bro the One plus is hands down best when it comes to the OS and experience. Also the punch hole camera to the left saves a lot of distraction and doesn't hinder the view. Also the 90hz isn't a big feature but why not have it in 2020? Truth be told my V30 stutters while opening gallery, swiping through Instagram and google feed. Stutters even more when there is a Widget on the homescreen. It has an inconsistent face unlock and terrible selfie camera. If you have a One plus then you don't need a Nova launcher and If you have an LG, you definitely need a Nova setup. I like to appreciate what is good in other brands and not just be a stubborn LG fan. Plus a Velvet takes 2 hours to charge full, on the other hand a 1 year old One plus 7 pro charges to full under 1 hour. So ain't that practical for a day to day use? LG is worth the money no doubt,comes with extra features but lacks the basics, One plus has strong basics but lacks the extras.

      @@Mumbai-Toronto-NY there is no a 800$ lg phone... Well maybe there is at its lunch... But we all know that in about one month Lg Devices drop as it should have been on any techology... So if you can find the V60 with the dual screen case at 600$ you are totally lucky and wont even think about the 90hz display...
      And even it you don't just consinder how a phone feels with a 90hz or 120 hz display...
      Do you seriously believe that the battery can pull through such a powerful display... Don't even metion the cost if your sceen break...
