Vesna is a female folk band led by singer and lyricist Patricia Fuxová. She founded the group in 2016 while still studying at the Jaroslav Ježek Prague Conservatory. In addition to Patricia, the founding members were her classmates Bára Šůstková (violin), Andrea Šulcová (flute) and Tanita Yankovová from Bulgaria (piano). The original idea was for a group that would be all-female and celebrate Slavicness and femininity. First song Morana was released in 2017 and, in addition to Vesna, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra participated in it.
In 2018, there was a change and Andrea Šulcová and Tanita Yankovová left the group, but the group, on the other hand, grew with drummer Markéta Vedralová and pianist Olesya Ochepovská from Russia. In this lineup, Vesna is currently joined by bassist Tereza Čepková from Slovakia. She released her debut album Pátá bohyně Vesna in November 2018 and earned a nomination for the Anděl (The Angel) 2018 awards in the Discovery of the Year category.
Recently, the Norwegian singer Aurora also chose them as an opening act for her concert in the Czech Republic. Former member Tanita Yankovová returned to the group for the Eurovision song My Sister's Crown, who enriched the song with Bulgarian rap, so Vesna sings in four languages in the song - Czech, English, Ukrainian and Bulgarian.
