Big thing about Nikon Df for photography only shooters... no video capability at all.
No extra buttons, no clogged up menus, no split mind set, just stills photography the old school way.
I'll always regret not buying the Df when it came out, but I had just bought my D700, (also with no video) so I couldn't justify almost $3000 for a new camera. In the U.S., used Df bodies are very expensive and they are pretty old with an unknown history of use and abuse, so I missed that boat.
I’ve owned the DF for 6 years now and l love it. I have pre-ordered the ZF and looking forward to shooting with it.
It‘s funny to see how many Fuji enthusiasts are bashing on the Nikon ZF.
IMHO it‘s a real threat, as it‘s gorgeous, relatively affordable, better IQ in low light, much better AF. In regards to lens selection, film simulations and aperture wheel on lenses Fuji wins.
Btw: I own an x-t5 a leica q3 and soon a Nikon ZF. Let‘s see how it compares and if the x-t5 will remain.
The DF will look better than the ZF with old lenses mounted... the FTZ adapter will ruin the retro look. The upside to the ZF is focus peaking with manual focus lenses... i find it very hard to manually focus lenses with the Nikon ground glass viewfinder on the D800... much easier on the Z7.

The best thing about the df is the price :)
I used to own a DF, and I agree with you - this is a great camera, especially because of the sensor. The image quality is amazing, much better than Fuji. However, it's a bulky camera, and the quality of materials is not great; it's easy to scratch, and the rubber cover is weak. Focusing with large aperture manual lenses is an issue. Autofocus is slow. 16MP is not enough for street photography if you're making a crop. Anyway, it's a good camera if you can find it in good condition with low mileage and minimal use

Man, about what you speak here? You spoke about Z mirrorless camera range, you take as example Nikon Zf full frame (just because of missing grip) and you compare it with Digital SLR camera range, but not Nikon Df - which is an particular model released by Nikon in DSLR era. For me, your video title is deceptive because I wanted to see a review between Zf and Df camera.

For me the challenger to the DF is the D780, not the ZF. The ZF is a different system, it almost might as well be from a different company. Just like the DF the D780 can take all those old F mount lenses
